Temperature measurement based on electron spin resonance of magnetic nanoparticles

Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have excellent magnetic-temperature characteristic. However, current temperature measurement based on MNPs is interfered by concentration. Utilizing the electron spin resonance (ESR), we propose a highly sensitive temperature measurement method without concentration coupling. The anisotropic field is affected by temperature, thus affecting the g-value. The influence of the MNP concentration, size, and the data analysis method on temperature estimation are studied. The optimal temperature sensitivity is achieved with 15-nm MNPs while Gaussian smoothing method allows an optimal accuracy at Fe concentration of 5 mg/ml with a standard deviation of 0.07 K. Recent works have widely explored the contextual dependencies to achieve more accurate segmentation results. However, most approaches rarely distinguish different types of contextual dependencies, which may pollute the scene understanding. In this work, we directly supervise the feature aggregation to distinguish the intra-class and inter-class context clearly. Specifically, we develop a Context Prior with the supervision of the Affinity Loss. Given an input image and corresponding ground truth, Affinity Loss constructs an ideal affinity map to supervise the learning of Context Prior. The learned Context Prior extracts the pixels belonging to the same category, while the reversed prior focuses on the pixels of different classes. Embedded into a conventional deep CNN, the proposed Context Prior Layer can selectively capture the intra-class and inter-class contextual dependencies, leading to robust feature representation. To validate the effectiveness, we design an effective Context Prior Network (CPNet). Extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations demonstrate that the proposed model performs favorably against state-of-the-art semantic segmentation approaches. More specifically, our algorithm achieves 46.3% mIoU on ADE20K, 53.9% mIoU on PASCAL-Context, and 81.3% mIoU on Cityscapes. Code is available at https://***/ContextPrior. In this paper, we have proposed a novel time-frequency analysis method implementing adaptive variational mode decomposition (AVMD) and Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD) to visualize the local features of ship radiated noise. Unlike the traditional methods are invalid under low signal to noise ratio (SNR), the proposed method is suitable for constructing time-frequency (TF) image with the capability of mining the local feature information accurately. Firstly, we employ complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) on the raw signal to determine the numbers of variational modes which is equal to intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) numbers. Secondly, we perform VMD algorithm to extract the local features absolutely by decomposing the raw signal into IMFs, where we set the IMFs gained by CEEMDAN as the input parameter of VMD. Finally, we adopt Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) to draw TF signatures of all the IMFs, then superpose them to reconstruct the objected signal that can solve the cross-item problem. We have conducted the comparative experiments by the real oceanic data. Under the different SNRs, we have verified the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method, also obtained better performance in terms of resolution than compared algorithm.

The improvement of urban greening level makes sanitary work more complicated and difficult, especially, for the seasonal leaf cleaning on roads in the park, campus etc.. With the rapid development of computer vision, it is a feasible and innovative way to detect and clean the fallen leaves effectively with intelligent robot. However, since the irregular shape and size, uneven distribution of fallen leaves and complex outdoor conditions, especially the densely stacked leaves, even current advanced object detection algorithm has no satisfactory effect on detection of fallen leaves. To deal with the dense leaves detection problem and improve navigation efficiency, we propose a Non-Maximum Fusion(NMF) algorithm. NMF scales the high-confidence box with the pre-defined δ to fuse intersecting and adjacent boxes instead of supressing these boxes. The experiments on the fallen leaves data set shows that NMF improves the fallen leaves detection coverage significantly and the coverage reaches to 95%. Also, NMF greatly reduces the number of goal nodes for path planning. Since NMF functions at the back end of detector to process detection boxes without training, it can be intergrated into any fallen leaves detection pipeline easily.

Chromatographic separation is an indispensable and important technology in the manufacturing process of chemical products and biomedicine. It uses the distribution differences of a compound in the stationary phase and mobile phase to achieve the separation of the mixture. It is of great value to study the separation process of substances by simulated moving bed chromatography. By digitally simulating the process of moving bed, we can observe the influence of parameter changes on substance analysis by chromatography, and then find out the law of substance separation, which can provide theoretical basis for scientific research of biopharmaceuticals. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Adaptive fuzzy control strategies are established to achieve global prescribed performance with prescribed-time convergence for strict-feedback systems with mismatched uncertainties and unknown nonlinearities. Firstly, to quantify the transient and steady performance constraints of the tracking error, a class of prescribed-time prescribed performance functions are designed, and a novel error transformation function is introduced to remove the initial value constraints and solve the singularity problem in existing works. Secondly, based on dynamic surface control methods, controllers with or without approximating structures are established to guarantee that the tracking error achieves prescribed transient performance and converges into a prescribed bounded set within prescribed time. In particular, the settling time and initial value of the prescribed performance function are completely independent of initial conditions of the tracking error and system parameters, which improves existing results. Moreover, with a novel Lyapunov-like energy function, not only the differential explosion problem frequently occurring in backstepping techniques is solved, but the drawback of the semi-global boundedness of tracking error induced by dynamic surface control can be overcome. Modeling spatio-temporal sequences is an important topic yet challenging for existing neural networks. Most of the current spatio-temporal sequence prediction methods usually capture features separately in temporal and spatial dimensions or employ multiple mutually independent local spatio-temporal graphs to represent a spatio-temporal sequence. The first kind of method mentioned above is difficult to mine the complex spatio-temporal correlations, while the other is limited for the accuracy of long-term predictions. To handle these issues, this paper proposes a Transformer-Improved Graph Convolution Network for spatio-temporal prediction. Specifically, the temporal location encoding method is exploited to derive the spatio-temporal characteristics of the sequence utilizing a spatio-temporal feature fusion network. In addition, a spatio-temporal attention network is developed to enhance the spatio-temporal correlation of the sequence, and the dynamic spatial features of sequence are further extracted through the adaptive graph convolution network. A private dataset and a public dataset are employed to demonstrate the performance of the proposed TIGC-Net. The qualitative and quantitative results show that the proposed TIGC-Net can extract dynamic spatiotemporal properties more effectively, enhance the spatio-temporal correlation of sequences and improve the prediction accuracy compared with four stateof-the-art. © 2022, The Authors. The imaging rate of structured illumination microscopy(SIM) reached 188 Hz recently. As the exposure time decreases, the camera detects fewer virtual photons, while the noise level remains the same. As a result, the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) decreases sharply. Furthermore, the SNR decreases further because of photobleaching and phototoxicity. This decreased quality of SIM raw data may lead to surprising artifacts with various causes, which may confuse a new user of SIM microscopy. We summarize three significant possible sources of severe artifacts in reconstructed super-resolution(SR)images. Ultrafast motion of a biological sample or an uneven illumination pattern is the most difficult to be identified. The estimated parameter could also be incorrect, leading to artifact of regular ***, reconstruction with the Wiener method generates stochastic artifacts due to the amplification of noise during the deconvolution process. To deal with these problems, we have established a protocol to reconstruct ultrafast SIM raw data obtained in low SNR conditions. First, we checked the quality of the raw data with the image J plugin SIMcheck before reconstruction. Then, a modified parameter estimation method was used to improve the precision of the parameters. Finally, an iterative algorithm was used for SIM reconstruction under low signal-to-noise ratio conditions. This procedure effectively suppressed the artifacts in the super-resolution images reconstructed from raw data of low signal-to-noise ratio.

Distributed urban freeway traffic optimization considering congestion propagation

Traffic optimization strategies are imperative for improving the performance of transportation networks. Most traffic optimization strategies only depend on traffic states of congested road segments, where congestion propagation is neglected. Therefore, we propose a distributed traffic optimization strategy for urban freeways considering the potential congested road segments caused by congestion propagation, called potential-homogeneous-area (PHA). Utilizing the historical traffic density data, we firstly quantify the effect of congestion propagation and identify PHA by applying the proposed spatio-temporal lambda-connectedness method. Meanwhile, dynamic capacity constraints of PHA are determined and are integrated with cell transmission model (CTM) in a centralized traffic optimization problem. To reduce computational complexity and improve scalability, we then propose a doubleconsensus- based alternating direction method of multipliers algorithm (DC-ADMM) to handle the neighbor coupling constraints and global coupling constraints for solving the problem in a fully distributed way. We prove that the proposed DC-ADMM algorithm converges to the optimal solution in the condition of convex objective function. Finally, simulations based on real traffic density data, collected in Inner Ring Road, Shanghai, China, reveal the effectiveness of our proposed strategy. © 2021, CC BY.
