Hazy weather brings a lot of inconvenience to peoples lives, such as transportation. Therefore, image dehazing is still an important focus point. To achieve image dehazing, we proposed a Deep Dilated Residual Haze Network (DDRHNet) based on self-encoder and self-decoder. The proposed mode is an end-to-end supervised method, which directly estimates image dehazing result instead of estimating the atmospheric light and the transmission in the unsupervised and classical atmospheric scattering model. The DDRHNet method obtains image dehazed result by finding the difference between the input hazy image and the output of haze-free image. Experimental results on an open image dehazing dataset called SOTS demonstrate the superiority of the proposed DDRHNet network.

Modularization facilitates the adaptability of cyber-physical production systems (CPPSs) with a variety of collaborative tasks. Various production rules can be captured by signal temporal logic (STL) specifications imposed on interconnected multi-agent systems (MASs). In this paper, we focus on the controller synthesis of STL tasks for interconnected MASs to accomplish collaborative tasks in modular CPPSs. Firstly, a class of STL specifications characterizing tasks by the combination of fixed-time reachability and finite-time persistence tasks is proposed, which encompasses a large class of production specifications for the MAS. Secondly, the acyclic decomposition of the global STL formula is constructed to enable conflict-free collaborative tasks and unidirectional couplings between subsystems. By establishing the equivalence between the proposition and the state set of the MAS, necessary and sufficient conditions are respectively proposed for the satisfaction of reachability and persistence tasks. In addition, an algorithm is presented to synthesize controllers for the MAS with the global STL specification based on local controllers of subsystems. An illustrative example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Fire segmentation is very important for fire rescue. It can make firefighters get the information on fire area, spread direction and so on, and then help them make quick and effective fire-fighting plan. Therefore, this paper proposes an early forest fire segmentation algorithm based on a deep learning model, named F-Unet, which mainly uses the architecture idea of Unet for reference. F-Unet consists of contraction path, feature fusion layer and expansion path. The contraction path is composed of the first 13 layers of VGG16, which is used to obtain feature maps with different scales. In order to improve the segmentation accuracy of the model, the feature fusion network proposed in this paper is added to the Unet architecture to fuse these feature maps with different scales. The expansion path is used for upsampling these feature maps to restore the size of the original input image and obtain the fire segmentation results. The experimental testing results on the FLAME dataset show that F-Unet can significantly improve the fire segmentation precision, and also prove that the proposed feature fusion network is effective to improve the performance of fire segmentation.

Learning Probabilistic Coordinate Fields for Robust Correspondences

We introduce Probabilistic Coordinate Fields (PCFs), a novel geometric-invariant coordinate representation for image correspondence problems. In contrast to standard Cartesian coordinates, PCFs encode coordinates in correspondence-specific barycentric coordinate systems (BCS) with affine invariance. To know when and where to trust the encoded coordinates, we implement PCFs in a probabilistic network termed PCF-Net, which parameterizes the distribution of coordinate fields as Gaussian mixture models. By jointly optimizing coordinate fields and their confidence conditioned on dense flows, PCF-Net can work with various feature descriptors when quantifying the reliability of PCFs by confidence maps. An interesting observation of this work is that the learned confidence map converges to geometrically coherent and semantically consistent regions, which facilitates robust coordinate representation. By delivering the confident coordinates to keypoint/feature descriptors, we show that PCF-Net can be used as a plug-in to existing correspondence-dependent approaches. Extensive experiments on both indoor and outdoor datasets suggest that accurate geometric invariant coordinates help to achieve the state of the art in several correspondence problems, such as sparse feature matching, dense image registration, camera pose estimation, and consistency filtering. Further, the interpretable confidence map predicted by PCF-Net can also be leveraged to other novel applications from texture transfer to multi-homography classification. A2B: Anchor to Barycentric Coordinate for Robust Correspondence

There is a long-standing problem of repeated patterns in correspondence problems, where mismatches frequently occur because of inherent ambiguity. The unique position information associated with repeated patterns makes coordinate representations a useful supplement to appearance representations for improving feature correspondences. However, the issue of appropriate coordinate representation has remained unresolved. In this study, we demonstrate that geometric-invariant coordinate representations, such as barycentric coordinates, can significantly reduce mismatches between features. The first step is to establish a theoretical foundation for geometrically invariant coordinates. We present a seed matching and filtering network (SMFNet) that combines feature matching and consistency filtering with a coarse-to-fine matching strategy in order to acquire reliable sparse correspondences. We then introduce DEGREE, a novel anchor-to-barycentric (A2B) coordinate encoding approach, which generates multiple affine-invariant correspondence coordinates from paired images. DEGREE can be used as a plug-in with standard descriptors, feature matchers, and consistency filters to improve the matching quality. Extensive experiments in synthesized indoor and outdoor datasets demonstrate that DEGREE alleviates the problem of repeated patterns and helps achieve state-of-the-art performance. Furthermore, DEGREE also reports competitive performance in the third image Matching Challenge at CVPR 2021. This approach offers a new perspective to alleviate the problem of repeated patterns and emphasizes the importance of choosing coordinate representations for feature correspondences. Real-time and accurate water supply forecast is crucial for water supply control. However, most existing methods are likely affected by factors such as weather and holidays, which lead to a decline in the reliability of water supply *** this paper, we address a generic artificial neural network, Initialized Attention Residual Network(IARN), to tackle the time series prediction problem in water supply domain. Specifically, instead of continuing to use the recurrent neural network(RNN)in time-series tasks, we try to build a convolution neural network(CNN) to recede the disturb from other factors and get a more credible results. Experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on several datasets in terms of accuracy,robustness and generalization ability. Water demand prediction is the key link for the effective operation of urban intelligent water supply system. Since the non-linearity and complex variability of water consumption, it is difficult for traditional water demand prediction models to guarantee high accuracy for a long period. Different holiday types and even tiny changes in temperatures can affect urban water demand seriously. This paper proposes a Stacking-based hybrid model which integrates multi-correction mechanisms to address these problems. A better stacking model is proposed to minimize the generalization error. The stability and reliability of predictions are improved through the design of multi-correction mechanisms such as high temperature weather compensation feature, holiday-type correction model and water quantity fluctuation correction model. Comparing different models before and after stacking also before and after correcting, the prediction accuracy of the proposed hybrid model is much higher and the predictions are more stable and reliable.

The relative-posture-fixed human following is critical for the human-robot interaction and cooperation in daily scenes such as domestic service and healthcare. However, few of previous researches have discussed the difficulties faced by mobile robots in the real world, including the limitation of sensing range and hindrance from obstacles. For practicality, in this paper we investigate the relative-posture-fixed following control with collision avoidance and visibility constraints. The control task is formulated as a receding-horizon optimization problem and solved under the Nonlinear Model Predictive control (NMPC) framework, while an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) based human trajectory predict algorithm is integrated into the robot controller. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified in a simulation, and the results demonstrate a promising performance of our controller for the human-following task in complicated environments.

Continuously adaptive signal classification in complex electromagnetic environments is a desired property of realistic intelligent systems. However, the limitation of most existing signal processing tasks and methods lies in their assumption of fixed categories and invariant distributions. In contrast, humans naturally acquire knowledge continuously from data streams, enhancing their capabilities through cross-task knowledge integration and learning from the past. Inspired by this, we propose a continuous learning (CL) method based on selective multi-task coordination (SMTC) to deal with ever-changing task categories and distributions in practical electromagnetic environments (denoted as SMTC-CL). Firstly, we propose a signal task distribution comparison (TDC) method that leverages intra-domain density and inter-domain divergence. TDC selectively activates multiple old tasks to collaboration with the current incremental new task. Secondly, we propose the SMTC method. By revisiting potential collaborative tasks from the past using TDC and formulating different selection strategies based on the context, continuous learners can achieve mutual benefits between past and current tasks in SMTC learning. SMTC can partially alleviate catastrophic forgetting and enable continuous learners to adapt to the changing electromagnetic environment. Based on the signal automatic modulation classification (AMC) and real-world specific emitter identification (SEI) datasets, extensive experimental results validate the effectiveness of our proposed method on a variety of CL scenarios, including varying signal task categories, distributions, and their combinations. © 2015 IEEE.
