Accurate wind speed prediction is essential for the integration of wind turbines into microgrids. This paper proposes a combined prediction model, firstly, the key parameters of the variational modal decomposition (VMD) is optimized by whale optimization algorithm (WOA), and the original wind speed sequence is decomposed by using the WOA-VMD to obtain the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) with different frequencies;secondly, the Pearson correlation coefficient is performed between IMFs and the original wind speed sequence, classifying the IMFs into two groups according to their correlation coefficients, the IMFs with strong correlation are predicted using the temporal convolutional network (TCN), and the IMFs with weak correlation are predicted using the gate recurrent unit (GRU);finally, the prediction results of each component are superimposed to obtain the final prediction results. The combined model is applied to real data from six wind farms in China with different climatic conditions and geographic locations, and different comparison models are established for validation. The experimental results show that the combined WOA-VMD-GRU-TCN prediction model can significantly improve the prediction accuracy, reduce the wind speed sequence error, and have better robustness than other methods. © 2024, The Authors. This paper addresses the problem of circuit design and global exponential stabilization of memristive neural networks with time-varying delays and general activation functions. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and free weighting matrix technique, a delay-dependent criteria for the global exponential stability and stabilization of memristive neural networks are derived in form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Two numerical examples are elaborated to illustrate the characteristics of the results. It is noteworthy that the traditional assumptions on the boundness of the derivative of the time-varying delays are removed.

B-scan ultrasound is the primary means for the diagnosis of fatty liver. However, due to use of various ultrasound equipments, poor quality of ultrasonic images and physical differences of patients, fatty liver diagnosis is mainly qualitative, and often depends on the subjective judgment of technicians and doctors. Therefore, computer-aided feature extraction and quantitative analysis of liver B-scan ultrasonic images will help to improve clinical diagnostic accuracy, repeatability and efficiency, and could provide a measure for severity of hepatic steatosis. This paper proposed a novel method of fatty liver diagnosis based on liver B-mode ultrasonic images using support vector machine (SVM). Fatty liver diagnosis was transformed into a pattern recognition problem of liver ultrasound image features. According to the different characteristics of fatty liver and healthy liver, important image features were extracted and selected to distinguish between the two categories. These features could be represented by near-field light-spot density, near-far-field grayscale ratio, grayscale co-occurrence matrix, and neighborhood gray-tone difference matrix (NGTDM). A SVM classifier was modeled and trained using the clinical ultrasound images of both fatty liver and normal liver. It was then exploited to classify normal and fatty livers, achieving a high recognition rate. The diagnostic results are satisfactorily consistent with those made by doctors. This method could be used for computer-aided diagnosis of fatty liver, and help doctors identify the fatty liver ultrasonic images rapidly, objectively and accurately.

Deep reinforcement learning with a stage incentive mechanism of dense reward for robotic trajectory planning

To improve the efficiency of deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based methods for robot manipulator trajectory planning in random working environments, we present three dense reward functions. These rewards differ from the traditional sparse reward. First, a posture reward function is proposed to speed up the learning process with a more reasonable trajectory by modeling the distance and direction constraints, which can reduce the blindness of exploration. Second, a stride reward function is proposed to improve the stability of the learning process by modeling the distance and movement distance of joint constraints. Finally, in order to further improve learning efficiency, we are inspired by the cognitive process of human behavior and propose a stage incentive mechanism, including a hard stage incentive reward function and a soft stage incentive reward function. Extensive experiments show that the soft stage incentive reward function is able to improve the convergence rate by up to 46.9% with the state-of-the-art DRL methods. The percentage increase in the convergence mean reward was 4.4-15.5% and the percentage decreases with respect to standard deviation were 21.9-63.2%. In the evaluation experiments, the success rate of trajectory planning for a robot manipulator reached 99.6%. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The coarse pointing assembly (CPA), as the outer loop of the laser terminal, its tracking stability is the basis for ensuring laser communication. This paper presents the model of the CPA. Aiming at the disturbance factors in the low-speed operation process of the CPA, an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method for the position loop of the CPA is designed based on the generalized proportional integral observer (GPIO) to achieve disturbance compensation control. Finally, simulations are carried out on the system model. The simulation results show that compared with the PID control strategy adopted, the proposed ADRC strategy based on GPIO of the CPA can effectively improve the tracking accuracy.

The paper discusses fuzzy comparison matrices, consistency check, weight prioritization methods and weight evaluation methods in fuzzy group analytic hierarchy process. There are various methods of weight prioritization, however, they are not critically evaluated. In the paper, two measures are introduced for the evaluation of the group weights. Then, a new method is proposed to improve the process of deriving weights and use it in an application compared to another common three methods. Our results show that the new method is a good method for deriving weights of indexes.

Dynamic Event-Triggered Consensus of Multi-agent Systems on Matrix-weighted Networks

This paper examines the event-triggered consensus of the multi-agent system on matrix-weighted networks, where the interdependencies among higher-dimensional states of neighboring agents are characterized by matrix-weighted edges in the network. Specifically, a novel distributed dynamic event-triggered coordination strategy is proposed for this category of generalized networks, in which an auxiliary system is employed for each agent to dynamically adjust the triggering threshold, which plays an essential role in guaranteeing that the triggering time sequence does not exhibit Zeno behavior. Distributed event-triggered control protocols are proposed to guarantee leaderless and leader-follower consensus for multi-agent systems on matrix-weighted networks, respectively. Remarkably, the spectrum of matrix-valued weights is crucial in event-triggered mechanism design for matrix-weighted networks, generalizing those results only applicable for scalar-weighted networks. The proposed approach allows each agent to broadcast and receive information only at its triggering instants. Finally, simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the theoretical results. Tongue diagnosis is one of the most important diagnosis methods in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).Tongue image segmentation is a crucial step in developing automatic tongue diagnosis *** localization of tongue body is a useful preprocessing step in tongue image segmentation,which can eliminate the adverse effect of strong edges from neighboring tissues such as face and lip when extracting tongue body *** exploring the existing tongue rough localization method based on gray projection,we propose a modified method combining clustering with gray projecting in this *** proposed method first conducts clustering on image pixels' hue components in HSI(Hue,Saturation and Intensity) space to seek multiple ***,image thresholding and morphological operations are conducted to generate a binary image,and the largest object region is taken as the initial localization ***,the localization result is refined by gray projection on pixels' red *** results on a variety of tongue images show that the proposed method significantly improves the accuracy of tongue rough localization in comparison with the existing gray projection method.

Global Update Guided Federated Learning

Federated learning protects data privacy and security by exchanging models instead of data. However, unbalanced data distributions among participating clients compromise the accuracy and convergence speed of federated learning algorithms. To alleviate this problem, unlike previous studies that limit the distance of updates for local models, we propose global-update-guided federated learning (FedGG), which introduces a model-cosine loss into local objective functions, so that local models can fit local data distributions under the guidance of update directions of global models. Furthermore, considering that the update direction of a global model is informative in the early stage of training, we propose adaptive loss weights based on the update distances of local models. Numerical simulations show that, compared with other advanced algorithms, FedGG has a significant improvement on model convergence accuracies and speeds. Additionally, compared with traditional fixed loss weights, adaptive loss weights enable our algorithm to be more stable and easier to implement in practice. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. With the rapid development of computation and communication technologies, the traditional vehicle ad hoc networks (VANETs) are changing to Internet of vehicle (IoV). Vehicular announcement networks in IoV have been widely used in the communication of vehicles. Generally, we need to solve two problems while establishing a vehicular announcement system. First, we need to protect user's privacy when broadcasting the message. Second, participants usually lack the enthusiasm to reply to the announcement. To solve these two problems, we propose a novel blockchain-based incentive announcement system that not only allows participants to anonymously announce their message on the blockchain in a non-trusted environment, but also motivates witnesses to respond to the request of the traffic information with incentive mechanism. Meanwhile, traffic messages and signatures in our system are tamper-resistant, which are recorded on the blockchain. According to the security and performance analysis, it shows that our system is privacy-preserving and efficient in computation cost.
