Some researchers have worked on intermittent control and alternate control. In both cases, the choice of the control was a constant quantity. But, in real life, this situation is hard to come by for the reason that control may vary with time and circumstances owing to machine or human errors or both. Hence is the need to employ a method in which the control matrix is rather uncertain as is obtainable in real life. In this paper, we consider a more general model of both intermittent and alternate control which allows the control matrix to be fuzzy (uncertain). It turns out that both the classical intermittent and classical alternate controls are recovered in this mode.

images contain rich emotions. The traditional image classification and retrieval methods mainly classify images according to the bottom visual features of the images. Most of them ignore the influence and effect of emotions. The image affective classification and retrieval method in this paper combines the bottom visual features with the high-level affective semantics. Aiming at the insufficiency of the retrieval based on the single bottom visual features, it combines the bottom image color feature with the shape feature, and establishes the image feature space. Aiming at the semantic gap between low-level visual features and high-level semantics of the image, it establishes the emotional semantic space through cognitive psychology experiments and factor analysis. The method in this paper uses SVM to fill the semantic blanks to achieve the affective semantics annotation of the image, maps feature space to the emotional space of the image to realize the classification and retrieval of the image affective semantics. The result of the experiment shows that this method improves the efficiency and performance of image retrieval, and provides an effective solution to the affective semantics research of images. © 2018, Ubiquitous International. This paper explores the size-invariance of evaluation metrics in Salient Object Detection (SOD), especially when multiple targets of diverse sizes co-exist in the same image. We observe that current metrics are size-sensitive, where larger objects are focused, and smaller ones tend to be ignored. We argue that the evaluation should be size-invariant because bias based on size is unjustified without additional semantic information. In pursuit of this, we propose a generic approach that evaluates each salient object separately and then combines the results, effectively alleviating the imbalance. We further develop an optimization framework tailored to this goal, achieving considerable improvements in detecting objects of different sizes. Theoretically, we provide evidence supporting the validity of our new metrics and present the generalization analysis of SOD. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. Receiver detection algorithm has always been a research hotspot in communication system and the key point to determine the performance of 5G system. Both industry and academia have been committed to finding detection algorithms with lower complexity and higher detection performance. This paper will study how to solve the problems of low detection performance and high complexity of classical algorithms. Taking Pattern Division Multiple Access (PDMA) as an example, this paper improves the existing receiver detection algorithms such as Minimum Mean Square Error-Serial Interference Cancellation(MMSE-SIC), Message Passing Algorithm (MPA) and Expectation Propagation Algorithm (EPA), and puts forward corresponding improved algorithms with specific formulas, i.e. Enhanced-MMSE-SIC, Turbo-like MPA (MPA-Turbo) and Turbo-like EPA with hybrid parallel interference cancellation (EPA-Turbo-PIC). Link-level simulation results and analysis show that the proposed improved algorithms have performance advantages over the corresponding traditional algorithms. © 2022, The Authors. Service computing techniques have achieved remarkable results in solving the cohesiveness problem of Web applications and are therefore introduced into the IoT do-main to break the trend of inlining IoT systems. However, compared with the traditional Internet, IoT has richer elements and semantic connotations, so the existing service description framework needs to be improved and extended. In this paper, we propose an ontology description framework for IoT services, design corresponding inference rules, and give a storage method for IoT services by integrating the knowledge graph technology for the strongly associated characteristics of IoT services. On this basis, an algorithm for combining IoT services based on graph planning is proposed. The experimental results show that the proposed method in this paper can provide richer entity semantics and ef-fectively improve the efficiency and success rate of IoT service composition. © The Authors.

A brain-computer interface (BCI) enables direct communication between the human brain and external devices. Electroencephalography (EEG) based BCIs are currently the most popular for able-bodied users. To increase user-friendliness, usually a small amount of user-specific EEG data are used for calibration, which may not be enough to develop a pure data-driven decoding model. To cope with this typical calibration data shortage challenge in EEG-based BCIs, this paper proposes a parameter-free channel reflection (CR) data augmentation approach that incorporates prior knowledge on the channel distributions of different BCI paradigms in data augmentation. Experiments on eight public EEG datasets across four different BCI paradigms (motor imagery, steady-state visual evoked potential, P300, and seizure classifications) using different decoding algorithms demonstrated that: 1) CR is effective, i.e., it can noticeably improve the classification accuracy;2) CR is robust, i.e., it consistently outperforms other data augmentation approaches in the literature;and, 3) CR is flexible, i.e., it can be combined with other data augmentation approaches to further increase the performance. We suggest that data augmentation approaches like CR should be an essential step in EEG-based BCIs. Our code is available online. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

FireMatch: A Semi-Supervised Video Fire Detection Network Based on Consistency and Distribution Alignment

Deep learning techniques have greatly enhanced the performance of fire detection in videos. However, video-based fire detection models heavily rely on labeled data, and the process of data labeling is particularly costly and time-consuming, especially when dealing with videos. Considering the limited quantity of labeled video data, we propose a semi-supervised fire detection model called FireMatch, which is based on consistency regularization and adversarial distribution alignment. Specifically, we first combine consistency regularization with pseudo-label. For unlabeled data, we design video data augmentation to obtain corresponding weakly augmented and strongly augmented samples. The proposed model predicts weakly augmented samples and retains pseudo-label above a threshold, while training on strongly augmented samples to predict these pseudo-labels for learning more robust feature representations. Secondly, we generate video cross-set augmented samples by adversarial distribution alignment to expand the training data and alleviate the decline in classification performance caused by insufficient labeled data. Finally, we introduce a fairness loss to help the model produce diverse predictions for input samples, thereby addressing the issue of high confidence with the non-fire class in fire classification scenarios. The FireMatch achieved an accuracy of 76.92% and 91.81% on two real-world fire datasets, respectively. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the current state-of-the-art semi-supervised classification methods. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Multi-robot systems have increasingly become instrumental in tackling coverage problems. However, the challenge of optimizing task efficiency without compromising task success still persists, particularly in expansive, unstructured scenarios with dense obstacles. This paper presents an innovative, decentralized Voronoi-based coverage control approach to reactively navigate these complexities while guaranteeing safety. This approach leverages the active sensing capabilities of multi-robot systems to supplement GIS (Geographic information System), offering a more comprehensive and real-time understanding of environments like post-disaster. Based on point cloud data, which is inherently non-convex and unstructured, this method efficiently generates collision-free Voronoi regions using only local sensing information through spatial decomposition and spherical mirroring techniques. Then, deadlock-aware guided map integrated with a gradient-optimized, centroid Voronoi-based coverage control policy, is constructed to improve efficiency by avoiding exhaustive searches and local sensing pitfalls. The effectiveness of our algorithm has been validated through extensive numerical simulations in high-fidelity environments, demonstrating significant improvements in task success rate, coverage ratio, and task execution time compared with others.

intelligent industrial manufacturing heavily relies on structured knowledge. Named Entity Recognition (NER), an essential technique for extracting structured knowledge from text, has garnered significant research interest. However, current NER approaches face difficulties in handling multiple levels of entity nesting in knowledge extraction, especially within the manufacturing context. To address this issue, we present an Anchor Span-based NER (ASNER) approach for accurately and efficiently extracting manufacturing text knowledge. This method combines token and span classification. Initially, the head and tail features of the entity are extracted, with the corresponding anchor span of potential entities generated based on a boundary match neural network to localize the entities. Subsequently, token spatial contextual features are extracted using biaffine attention and convolutional neural networks, and classification categories are assigned to the anchor span-filtered entity features. Recently, Transformer-based methods have shown impressive performance in single image super-resolution (SISR) tasks due to the ability of global feature extraction. However, the capabilities of Transformers that need to incorporate contextual information to extract features dynamically are neglected. To address this issue, we propose a lightweight Cross-receptive Focused Inference Network (CFIN) that consists of a cascade of CT Blocks mixed with CNN and Transformer. Specifically, in the CT block, we first propose a CNN-based Cross-Scale information Aggregation Module (CIAM) to enable the model to better focus on potentially helpful information to improve the efficiency of the Transformer phase. Then, we design a novel Cross-receptive Field Guided Transformer (CFGT) to enable the selection of contextual information required for reconstruction by using a modulated convolutional kernel that understands the current semantic information and exploits the information interaction within different self-attention. Extensive experiments have shown that our proposed CFIN can effectively reconstruct images using contextual information, and it can strike a good balance between computational cost and model performance as an efficient model.
