In recent studies, the generalization of neural radiance fields for novel view synthesis task has been widely explored. However, existing methods are limited to objects and indoor scenes. In this work, we extend the generalization task to outdoor scenes, trained only on object-level datasets. This approach presents two challenges. Firstly, the significant distributional shift between training and testing scenes leads to black artifacts in rendering results. Secondly, viewpoint changes in outdoor scenes cause ghosting or missing regions in rendered images. To address these challenges, we propose a geometric correction module and an appearance correction module based on multi-head attention mechanisms. We normalize rendered depth and combine it with light direction as query in the attention mechanism. Our network effectively corrects varying scene structures and geometric features in outdoor scenes, generalizing well from object-level to unseen outdoor scenes. Additionally, we use appearance correction module to correct appearance features, preventing rendering artifacts like blank borders and ghosting due to viewpoint changes. By combining these modules, our approach successfully tackles the challenges of outdoor scene generalization, producing high-quality rendering results. When evaluated on four datasets (Blender, DTU, LLFF, Spaces), our network outperforms previous methods. Notably, compared to MVSNeRF, our network improves average PSNR from 19.369 to 25.989, SSIM from 0.838 to 0.889, and reduces LPIPS from 0.265 to 0.224 on Spaces outdoor scenes. © 2023, CC BY.

Mobile wheeled inverted pendulum (MWIP) is a typical naturally unstable underactuated system and it is very necessary to constrain its transient response to improve the overall safety. Prescribed performance control (PPC) is an effective method, however the system initial conditions are usually required to be known and constraint, otherwise it can lead to singularity problems. In practical systems, it is often difficult to obtain the exact initial state leading to limitations in the application of PPC. To overcome this issue, this paper presented a composite error transformation function to address the problem of initial condition dependence. A continuous bounded function was designed to compress the arbitrary initial error into the predefined bound to avoid singularities. After a set time, it was degraded to an original system error. Based on this composite transformation, a state feedback controller was proposed for the underactuated MWIP system to achieve the constraint outputs. Then, by employing the Lyapunov theorem, it was guaranteed that the closed-loop system would remain stable. Various numerical simulations under different initial conditions were carried out to prove the validity of the proposed controller.

Railway point machines(RPMS) are one of the key equipments in the railway system to switch different routes for the *** monitoring for RPMs is a vital measure to keep train operation safe and *** convenience and low cost into consideration, a novel intelligent condition monitoring method for RPMs based on sound analysis is ***-domain and frequency-domain features are obtained,and normalized using z-score standardization method to eliminate the influences of different *** particle swarm optimization(BPSO) is utilized to select the most significant discrimination feature *** effects of the selected optimal features are verified using Support vector machine(SVM), 1-Nearest neighbor(1 NN), Random forest(RF), and Naive Bayes(NB).Experiment results indicate SVM performs best on identification accuracy and computing cost compared with the other three *** identification accuracies on normal switching and reverse switching processes reach100% and 99.67%, respectively, indicating the feasibility of the proposed method.

DeepFakes blur the boundaries between reality and forgery, resulting in the collapse of exiting credit system, causing immeasurable consequences for national security and social order. Through analysis of existing face forgery techniques, it is found that most generation techniques rely on random noise distribution, and global information will be lost after up sampling. Therefore, we propose a deepfake detection algorithm based on improved MobileViT, which uses CNN local space biasing and the global space representation of the Transformer network to learn the local features and global representation of forged faces, respectively. Coordinate attention is introduced to obtain directional perception and position sensitive information, making the model locate synthetic traces of fake faces better and fusion local and global representation more effectively. For the improved generalization of the model, with the GELU activation function to solve the problem of neuron death. Our model achieved 96.2% on FF++(C23) datasets, and 93.7%,94.1%,96.3%,87.9% on DF, F2F, FS, and NT datasets, respectively. Comparing with previous methods, our model has shown detection robustness and better generalization.

Cervical cancer is one of the most widespread malignancies affecting women’s health worldwide today. However, the task of detection is particularly difficult due to the complex background of the cervical smear, where cells are previously stacked in clusters. To address this problem, we utilize the YOLOv5 as the baseline and build on YOLOv5 by using the simple Transformer Block which only combines with multi-head self attention layers and MLP to better extract cell features as well as to obtain global information. In addition, we allow the model to refine features adaptively to assist with detection by using Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM), an attention module being simple and effective for feed-forward convolutional neural networks, in the complex background information. Finally, we compare the model with YOLOv5 as baseline. In CDetector dataset, our model obtains 52.5% mAP@.5, which is 6% better than baseline. In transfer learning, it is 62.2%, which outperforms baseline by 3.2%. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Automatic epilepsy diagnosis system based on EEG signals is critical in the classification of epilepsy. This disease classification through doctors’ visual observation of transient EEG signals is more art than science. This paper proposes a novel EEG signals classification method based on time-frequency images by fusing rotation-invariant local binary pattern and gray level co-occurrence matrix features. Specifically, a continuous wavelet transform is applied to perform wavelet decomposition of mutated EEG signals and obtain their time-frequency images. Then, the binary particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to eliminate redundant features in feature selection and optimize the hyperparameters of SVM. The proposed method was verified by its comparison with other available cutting-edge classification methods. The proposed EEG signals classification framework achieved a better classification effect, which will help expert clinicians and neuroscientists to make more accurate and rapid epilepsy diagnosis. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

CLIP-guided Prototype Modulating for Few-shot Action Recognition

Learning from large-scale contrastive language-image pre-training like CLIP has shown remarkable success in a wide range of downstream tasks recently, but it is still under-explored on the challenging few-shot action recognition (FSAR) task. In this work, we aim to transfer the powerful multimodal knowledge of CLIP to alleviate the inaccurate prototype estimation issue due to data scarcity, which is a critical problem in low-shot regimes. To this end, we present a CLIP-guided prototype modulating framework called CLIP-FSAR, which consists of two key components: a video-text contrastive objective and a prototype modulation. Specifically, the former bridges the task discrepancy between CLIP and the few-shot video task by contrasting videos and corresponding class text descriptions. The latter leverages the transferable textual concepts from CLIP to adaptively refine visual prototypes with a temporal Transformer. By this means, CLIP-FSAR can take full advantage of the rich semantic priors in CLIP to obtain reliable prototypes and achieve accurate few-shot classification. Extensive experiments on five commonly used benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, and CLIP-FSAR significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods under various settings. Transportation is an important research field of engineering science, and its related research covers multiple fields and links in policies, methods, technologies, and applications. In order to sort out the research context and development status of the transportation field and provide scientific and technological information support for scientific researchers in the field, this article analyzes the literature published in SCI journals in the transportation field from 2008 to 2018 through the topic analysis method. The analysis results show that the current main research results in the field of transportation have formed different clusters around keywords such as cognitive radio, electric vehicles, optimization and simulation, and intelligent transportation systems, and the research development process of different countries is different. For example, the research results of China in recent years have gone from energy efficiency, automobile emissions to intelligent transportation, while the United States has been focusing on the research of intelligent transportation systems. Urine sediment detection is an essential aid in assessing kidney health. Traditional machine learning approaches treat urine sediment particle detection as an image classification task, segmenting particles for detection based on information such as edges or thresholds. However, the segmentation of sediment particles is complex due to the low contrast and weak edge characteristics of urine sediment images. In this paper, we consider urine sediment particle detection as a object detection task and propose the YOLOv5s-CBL, a detector dedicated to particle detection. Specifically, to mitigate the impact of background noise on detection accuracy, we inherit CBAM on the YOLOv5s model to help the network filter useless noise information and find regions of interest to extract target features. Then, we expand the original three-scale feature layer to improve the sensitivity of the model to larger-scale target sediment particles. Finally, we use the BiFPN structure instead of the original PANet combined with the FPN structure, which can more effectively fuse multiple different scales of information to improve the detection performance of the model. We compared state-of-the-art methods on two real-world datasets, and the experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of YOLOv5s-CBL. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

To solve the problem of low accuracy of gait recognition in complex scenes, a novel skeleton-based gait recognition algorithm, GCGait, is proposed. Taking human posture as the input of gait feature, the interference caused by wearing changes and other factors is reduced. To extract sufficient input features, multi-branch input is used in the early stage of the model. By introducing the multi-attention mechanism, the network can learn the semantic information of the non-directly connected joints, excavate the most discriminative features from complex videos, and further improve the recognition performance. In order to reduce the influence of cross view, the fusion loss function is used in the experiment. Experimental results show that the average recognition rate of the proposed algorithm on the CASIA-B dataset is improved by 5.2%, and the average recognition accuracy on the OU-MVLP dataset is increased by 66.3%, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed method.
