Emotion Detection in Conversation (EDC) has been implemented in numerous domains and is under increasing attention. The EDC task is highly challenging due to the need to incorporate both the context of the utterance and the identity of the participant. Some existing EDC approaches employ redundant network structures and inadequately model contextual utterances, resulting in limited performance gains. In this work, we devise a Spatio-Temporal scale based Affective neural Network (STANet) in a simplistic and efficacious manner. STANet consists of two main components, i.e., spatial scale network and temporal scale network, which are applied to extract spatial scale and temporal scale information in the conversation, respectively. Prior to spatio-temporal scale modeling, we encode the identity information of participants to examine its impact on the performance of emotion detection. We conduct substantial comparative experiments and ablation studies on three conversational emotion datasets, and the results demonstrate that our STANet realizes superior performance without taking advantage of external knowledge.

Multimodal Emotion Recognition in Conversation (ERC) plays an influential role in the field of human-computer interaction and conversational robotics since it can motivate machines to provide empathetic services. Multimodal data modeling is an up-and-coming research area in recent years, which is inspired by human capability to integrate multiple senses. Several graph-based approaches claim to capture interactive information between modalities, but the heterogeneity of multimodal data makes these methods prohibit optimal solutions. In this work, we introduce a multimodal fusion approach named Graph and Attention based Two-stage Multi-source information Fusion (GA2MIF) for emotion detection in conversation. Our proposed method circumvents the problem of taking heterogeneous graph as input to the model while eliminating complex redundant connections in the construction of graph. GA2MIF focuses on contextual modeling and cross-modal modeling through leveraging Multi-head Directed Graph ATtention networks (MDGATs) and Multi-head Pairwise Cross-modal ATtention networks (MPCATs), respectively. Extensive experiments on two public datasets (i.e., IEMOCAP and MELD) demonstrate that the proposed GA2MIF has the capacity to validly capture intra-modal long-range contextual information and inter-modal complementary information, as well as outperforms the prevalent State-Of-The-Art (SOTA) models by a remarkable margin. Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells(PEMFCs) are prone to decreased lifespan due to the degradation of the plat-inum(Pt) catalyst during operation. In this study, we have established a one-dimensional model to investigate the effects of different voltage conditions on Pt degradation. High potential is found to be the most significant factor affecting the degradation. Prolonged exposure to high potentials will significantly reduce the PEMFC's lifespan, and frequent voltage changes will exac-erbate the problem. To mitigate this issue, we have designed three energy management strategies with different limitations and simulated their performance in the operating scenario of a fuel-cell hybrid electric vehicle(FCHEV). The results demonstrate that strategies restricting high potential occurrences and voltage variations can effectively alleviate Pt degradation.

Human pose estimation is an important element in video and image analysis. However, existing methods have some problems such as less accurate predicted position and over-lapping key points. To address these problems, we construct a high-resolution human pose estimation method based on Coordinate Attention (CA) mechanism that combines coordinate perception. The method constructs a coordinate attention bottleneck module (CABottleneck) and a coordinate attention module (CABlock) based on the attention mechanism, which allow the model to obtain richer coordinate and orientation information in feature extraction, and then combine the downsampling operation to convert the original image into four different sizes of feature maps, and then fuse these feature maps in multivariate resolution. Then, we use the deconvolution module to obtain the high-resolution feature maps, and finally derive the positions of each key point to achieve the estimation of human pose. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the method in this paper is better than that of various methods such as HigherHRNet when using similar number of parameters. In the CrowdPose test dataset, the accuracy of both single-scale and multi-scale exceeds 72%, which is 6.6% better than HigherHRNet;5% better than DEKR. In the COCO2017 val dataset, our method maintains a high performance and reduces the repetition rate of human key points. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays, mobile robots play an important role in a variety of service scenarios. They need to plan and track trajectories to accomplish tasks such as delivery or guided tours. In such tasks, there are two remaining challenges: on one hand, the time and memory consumption of present path planners are still significant; on the other hand, service robots, which have a higher center of gravity, demand greater moving stability than that of current trajectory planners provide. To address these two challenges. Firstly, we propose a safety boundary first A* which fully utilizes environmental obstacle information to create a safety boundary and searches in it to quickly find an initial path. Secondly, we formulate the trajectory optimization problem as a nonlinear optimization problem, where the smoothness, safety, feasibility, and moving stability of the robot are taken into account. Furthermore, to constrain the robot's lateral acceleration, we design a time allocation algorithm based on non-uniform B-spline, enhancing the quality of the resulting trajectory. Simulations and real-world experiments demonstrate that our algorithms significantly improve path search efficiency, enhance moving stability, reduce the difficulty of tracking, and improve the quality of task completion.

Short-term load forecasting of buildings plays a key role in demand management, however, when dealing with massive data, the prevalent practice of training and testing the system as a whole overlooks pattern variations inside data and potentially limits predictive performance. To address this issue, this paper proposes an ensemble deep random vector functional link (edRVFL) model that combines adaptive ensemble clustering and dynamic weighting strategy for load forecasting of an industrial building. Firstly, the adaptive ensemble clustering that combines ordering points to identify the clustering structure and K nearest neighbor is employed to determine the electricity load usage patterns. Subsequently, the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is applied to adjust the weights of load curves in different typical day scenarios. Finally, a dynamic weighting strategy is designed to dynamically assign model weights to two clusters, where one matches the type of predicted load pattern for the day being forecasted and another for the cluster of the previous day. The experiment in a real building verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, which has higher prediction accuracy than other comparison algorithms including one-week interval and different ensemble clustering.

Preserving details and avoiding high computational costs are the two main challenges for the High-Resolution Salient Object Detection (HRSOD) task. In this paper, we propose a two-stage HRSOD model from the perspective of evolution and succession, including an evolution stage with Low-resolution Location Model (LrLM) and a succession stage with High-resolution Refinement Model (HrRM). The evolution stage achieves detail-preserving salient objects localization on the low-resolution image through the evolution mechanisms on supervision and feature; the succession stage utilizes the shallow high-resolution features to complement and enhance the features inherited from the first stage in a lightweight manner and generate the final high-resolution saliency prediction. Besides, a new metric named Boundary-Detail-aware Mean Absolute Error (MAEBD) is designed to evaluate the ability to detect details in high-resolution scenes. Extensive experiments on five datasets demonstrate that our network achieves superior performance at real-time speed (49 FPS) compared to state-of-the-art methods. Obtaining accurate and effective information for drug molecules is a crucial and challenging task, which relies on high-quality chemical knowledge. However, chemical knowledge has been accumulated over the past 100 years from various regions, laboratories, and experimental purposes, which contains a lot of noise and inconsistency, leading to the out-of-distribution (OOD) problem. OOD may results in weak robustness and unsatisfied performance. In order to solve OOD learning problem with noise, a novel benchmark: ADMEOOD is proposed, which is a systematic OOD dataset curator and specifically designed for drug property prediction. ADMEOOD screens 27 Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) drug properties from Chembl and relevant literature. This paper explicitly make distinctions between two kinds of OOD data shifts: Noise Shift and Concept Conflict Drift (CCD). Overall, ADME contains 6 domain annotations combined with noise, CCD and no shifts, resulting in 18 different splits in total. ADMEOOD provides performance results on a variety of SOTA OOD models. The results demonstrate a significant difference performance between in-distribution and OOD data. Moreover, Empirical Risk Minimization and other models exhibit distinct trends in different domains and measurement types. This article addresses an adaptive tracking control problem for uncertain high-order fully actuated (HOFA) systems with unknown parameters and disturbances. Under the framework of backstepping, the unknown parameter is estimated and the external disturbance is handled by using adaptive control and H ∞ technique, respectively. Moreover, the Levant differentiator is employed to reduce the computation burden. Additionally, the boundedness of signals in the closed-loop system is proven using the Lyapunov theory. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is validated through the simulation study.

SSL(Semi-supervised learning) is widely used in machine learning, which leverages labeled and unlabeled data to improve model performance. SSL aims to optimize class mutual information, but noisy pseudo-labels introduce false class information due to the scarcity of labels. Therefore, these algorithms often need significant training time to refine pseudo-labels for performance improvement iteratively. To tackle this challenge, we propose a novel plug-and-play method named ASCL(Accelerating Semi-Supervised Learning via Contrastive Learning). This method combines contrastive learning with uncertainty-based selection for performance improvement and accelerates the convergence of SSL algorithms. Contrastive learning initially emphasizes the mutual information between samples as a means to decrease dependence on pseudo-labels. Subsequently, it gradually turns to maximizing the mutual information between classes, aligning with the objective of semi-supervised learning. Uncertainty-based selection provides a robust mechanism for acquiring pseudo-labels. The combination of the contrastive learning module and the uncertainty-based selection module forms a virtuous cycle to improve the performance of the proposed model. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ASCL outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of both convergence efficiency and performance. In the experimental scenario where only one label is assigned per class in the CIFAR-10 dataset, the application of ASCL to Pseudo-label, UDA (Unsupervised Data Augmentation for Consistency Training), and Fixmatch benefits substantial improvements in classification accuracy. Specifically, the results demonstrate notable improvements in respect of 16.32%, 6.9%, and 24.43% when compared to the original outcomes.
