is study describes an approach for remote measuring of on-site temperature and particleconcentration using magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) via simulation and also *** sensor model indicates that under different applied magnetic fields, the magnetizationequation of the MNPs can be discretized to give a higher-order nonlinear equation in twovariables that consequently separates information regarding temperature and particleconcentration. As a result, on-site tissue temperature or nanoparticle concentration can bedetermined using remote detection of the magnetization. In order to address key issues in thehigher-order equation we propose a new solution method of the first-order model from theperspective of the generalized inverse matrix. Simulations for solving the equation, as well asto optimize the solution of higher equations, were carried out. In the final section we describea prototype experiment used to investigate the measurement of the temperature in which weused a superconducting magnetometer and commercial MNPs. The overall error after ninerepeated measurements was found to be less than 0.57 K within 310–350 K, with acorresponding root mean square of less than 0.55 K. A linear relationship was also foundbetween the estimated concentration of MNPs and the sample’s mass.

With the emergence of medical imaging, the compression of volumetric medical images is essential. For this purpose, we propose a novel Multiplicative Multiresolution Decomposition (MMD) wavelet coding scheme for lossless compression of volumetric medical images. The MMD is used in speckle reduction technique but offers some proprieties which can be exploited in compression. Thus, as the wavelet transform the MMD provides a hierarchical representation and offers a possibility to realize lossless compression. We integrate in proposed scheme an inter slice filter based on wavelet transform and motion compensation to reduce data energy efficiently. We compare lossless results of classical wavelet coders such as 3D SPIHT and JP3D to the proposed scheme. This scheme incorporates MMD in lossless compression technique by applying MMD/wavelet or MMD transform to each slice, after inter slice filter is employed and the resulting sub-bands are coded by the 3D zero-tree algorithm SPIHT. Lossless experimental results show that the proposed scheme with the MMD can achieve lowest bit rates compared to 3D SPIHT and JP3D. © 2022 Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Mounting evidence suggests that distinct microbial communities reside in tumors and play important roles in tumor physiology. Recently, Nejman et al. profiled the composition and localization of intratumoral bacteria using 16S DNA sequencing and histological visualization methods across seven tumor types, including human glioblastoma. However, considering potential contamination in their sample origins and processing, the results based on traditional histological methods need to be validated. Here, we propose a three-dimensional (3D) intratumoral microbiota visualization and quantification protocol to observe microbiota in intact tumor tissues on the premise of avoiding possible contamination in the surface of tissues, based on tissue clearing, immunofluorescent labeling, microscopy imaging, and image processing. For the first time, we have achieved 3D quantitative imaging of bacterial LPS fluorescent signals deep in gliomas in a contamination-free manner, which was founded mostly localized near nuclear membranes or in the intercellular space. Through an automated statistical algorithm, reliable signals can be distinguished for further analysis of their sizes, distribution, and fluorescence intensities. Combining two-dimensional images from multiple thin-section histological methods, including immunochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization, we provide a comprehensive histological investigation of the morphology and distribution of these signals on human glioma samples. We expect that this multi-evidence chain will provide supporting proof for the presence of intratumoral bacteria in human glioma and that the integrated pipeline can be applied to investigate the native bacteria within diverse tumors and contribute to the interpretation of their direct roles in the tumor microenvironment. © 2021, CC BY.

Two types of cantilevers are studied in this paper. One type is based on the piezoresistive design and the other type was the regular silicone based cantilevers. The regular cantilevers were measured with the help of the image analysis, so as to measure the real deflection when the regular cantilevers are calibrated based on cantilever on cantilever method. The standard uncertainty of the stiffness measurement is smaller than 3%. The resolution of the piezoresistive cantilever is 0.098 mN/m.

According to fractional order model, the governing equation of viscoelastic plate is established. Using the properties of the shifted Bernstein polynomials, the fractional order equation of viscoelastic plate is resolved, the conversion of fractional differential equations to algebraic equations, and operator matrices represented by Kronecker products are solved in the domain. The convergence study validates the algorithm's efficacy and precision in solving differential equations. The displacement of viscoelastic metal thin plate under different external loads (uniform distribution and linear distribution), the effect of white Gaussian noise on the thin metal plate displacement, the effect of different boundary conditions on thin metal plate displacement under harmonic load are studied, the displacements of metal and polymer plates under different loads are contrasted and stress and strain relationship of two kinds of plates are discussed. Based on the outcomes, it can be concluded that the shift Bernstein polynomial approach is useful for numerically simulating viscoelastic plates. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

An approach of direct adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control which combines the fuzzy control with the sliding-mode control, is proposed for the control of a class of unknown nonlinear dynamic systems. The control goal is to obtain a direct adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control law and a constructive Lyapunov synthesis approach with respect to a class of nonlinear systems without the knowledge of uncertainties. For improving the approximate performance of the fuzzy system, the proposed approach in this study not only online updates the parameter values in the consequence fuzzy sets, but also updates the shape parameters of the membership functions of the prime fuzzy sets. The fuzzy control rules are updated through the online adaptive learning, which makes the output of fuzzy control to approximate to a sliding-mode equivalent control. The asymptotic stability of the overall system based on Lyapunov theory is proved. Some numerical simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed approach.

Violent Interaction Detection in Video Based on Deep Learning

Violent interaction detection is of vital importance in some video surveillance scenarios like railway stations, prisons or psychiatric centres. Existing vision-based methods are mainly based on hand-crafted features such as statistic features between motion regions, leading to a poor adaptability to another dataset. En lightened by the development of convolutional networks on common activity recognition, we construct a FightNet to represent the complicated visual violence interaction. In this paper, a new input modality, image acceleration field is proposed to better extract the motion attributes. Firstly, each video is framed as RGB images. Secondly, optical flow field is computed using the consecutive frames and acceleration field is obtained according to the optical flow field. Thirdly, the FightNet is trained with three kinds of input modalities, i.e., RGB images for spatial networks, optical flow images and acceleration images for temporal networks. By fusing results from different inputs, we conclude whether a video tells a violent event or not. To provide researchers a common ground for comparison, we have collected a violent interaction dataset (VID), containing 2314 videos with 1077 fight ones and 1237 no-fight ones. By comparison with other algorithms, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model for violent interaction detection shows higher accuracy and better robustness.

Detecting objects in real-world scenes is a complex task due to various challenges, including the vast range of object categories, and potential encounters with previously unknown or unseen objects. The challenges necessitate the development of public benchmarks and challenges to advance the field of object detection. Inspired by the success of previous COCO [15] and LVIS [11] Challenges, we organize the V3Det Challenge 2024 in conjunction with the 4th Open World Vision Workshop: Visual Perception via Learning in an Open World (VPLOW) at CVPR 2024, Seattle, US. This challenge aims to push the boundaries of object detection research and encourage innovation in this field. The V3Det Challenge 2024 consists of two tracks: 1) Vast Vocabulary Object Detection: This track focuses on detecting objects from a large set of 13204 categories, testing the detection algorithm's ability to recognize and locate diverse objects. 2) Open Vocabulary Object Detection: This track goes a step further, requiring algorithms to detect objects from an open set of categories, including unknown objects. In the following sections, we will provide a comprehensive summary and analysis of the solutions submitted by participants. By analyzing the methods and solutions presented, we aim to inspire future research directions in vast vocabulary and open-vocabulary object detection, driving progress in this field. High Dynamic Range Imaging Using Multiple Exposures

It is challenging to capture a high-dynamic range (HDR) scene using a low-dynamic range (LDR) camera. This paper presents an approach for improving the dynamic range of cameras by using multiple exposure images of same scene taken under different exposure times. First, the camera response function (CRF) is recovered by solving a high-order polynomial in which only the ratios of the exposures are used. Then, the HDR radiance image is reconstructed by weighted summation of the each radiance maps. After that, a novel local tone mapping (TM) operator is proposed for the display of the HDR radiance image. By solving the high-order polynomial, the CRF can be recovered quickly and easily. Taken the local image feature and characteristic of histogram statics into consideration, the proposed TM operator could preserve the local details efficiently. Experimental result demonstrates the effectiveness of our method. By comparison, the method outperforms other methods in terms of imaging quality.

Due to the limitations of hyperspectral imaging systems, hyperspectral imagery (HSI) often suffers from poor spatial resolution, thus hampering many applications of the imagery. Hyperspectral super-resolution refers to fusing HSI and MSI to generate an image with both high spatial and high spectral resolutions. Recently, several new methods have been proposed to solve this fusion problem, and most of these methods assume that the prior information of the Point Spread Function (PSF) and Spectral Response Function (SRF) are known. However, in practice, this information is often limited or unavailable. In this work, an unsupervised deep learning based fusion method HyCoNet that can solve the problems in HSIMSI fusion without the prior PSF and SRF information is proposed. HyCoNet consists of three coupled autoencoder nets in which the HSI and MSI are unmixed into endmembers and abundances based on the linear unmixing model. Two special convolutional layers are designed to act as a bridge that coordinates with the three autoencoder nets, and the PSF and SRF parameters are learned adaptively in the two convolution layers during the training process. Furthermore, driven by the joint loss function, the proposed method is straightforward and easily implemented in an end-to-end training manner. The experiments performed in the study demonstrate that the proposed method performs well and produces robust results for different datasets and arbitrary PSFs and SRFs.
