In this paper, a novel interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller (IT2FLC) is proposed for controlling a mobile wheeled inverted pendulum(MWIP) with model uncertainties and external disturbances. The MWIP is a typical underactuated system which is generally composed of two subsystems, an invert pendulum and a mobile robot system. The IT2FLC proposed in this paper is composed of a balancing controller, a velocity controller and a yaw steering controller. The proposed integrated IT2FLC is linear combination of the three individual IT2FLCs which uses simplified type reduce method. The proposed controller has simple structure and requires less computation, also it is expected to have robustness to uncertainties and external disturbances in the practical implementation. Considering the model uncertainties and external disturbances, simulation results proved the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed IT2FLC compared with type-1 fuzzy logic controller (T1FLC).

This paper proposes a novel system for generating 1-D m-scroll, 2-D m×n-grid multi-scroll, 3-D m×n×l-grid multi-scroll chaotic attractors (GMSCAs) via switching piecewise linear (PWL) function. First, a third-order linear system satisfying certain conditions is introduced as the original system. Then, by adding stair function, saturated function series and hysteresis function series to the third-order linear system, respectively, GMSCAs are generated along a certain line, or plane, or in the whole state space. Besides, some basic dynamical behaviors of the controlled system are investigated and numerical simulations are given to verify the effectiveness of this method.

This paper proposes a systematically method for generating high-dimensional grid multi-scroll attractors (GMSAs), including 3-D, 4-D, 5-D and even higher-dimensional GMSAs. Firstly, based on a third-order linear system, higher-order linear systems are constructed by introducing state feedback controllers. Then, switching piecewise linear (PWL) functions, including stair function and saturated series function, are introduced, respectively, to make the higher-order systems generate high-dimensional GMSAs. In sentiment analysis, polarity shifting means shifting the polarity of a sentiment clue that expresses emotion, evaluation, etc. Compared with other natural language processing (NLP) tasks, extracting polarity shifting patterns from corpora is a challenging one because the methods used to shift polarity are flexible, which often invalidates fully automatic approaches. In this study, which aimed to extract polarity shifting patterns that inverted, attenuated, or canceled polarity, we used a semi-automatic approach based on sequence mining. This approach greatly reduced the cost of human annotating, while covering as many frequent polarity shifting patterns as possible. We tested this approach on different domain corpora and in different settings. Three types of experiments were performed and the experimental results were analyzed, which will be reported in this paper.

Automatic image registration method is important because data amount acquired and processed is increasingly heavy. For SAR and optical sensor images, it is important to align the same object shown in different images from multi sensors. Considering extracting and matching features in SAR and optical images, a template registration strategy is proposed in this paper. A particular similarity measurement which is robust in matching remote sensing images of general sceneries is hardly to construct. Being the invertible and essential tendency nowadays in the field of earth observation, high pixel-resolution images can offer much more information of the ground. Thus subpixel image registration methods have been researched, among which can successfully achieve 1/50 pixel level accuracy in matching homologous sensor image. This paper firstly investigated the performance of 2D Gaussian fitting for low correlated synthetic images and real satellite images acquired by Radat SAT-2, COSMO and TerraSAR-X satellites. Three algorithms for subpixel locating have been utilized with consideration of the low correlated coefficient peak and corrupted shape of neighbourhood around it. The results show 2D Gaussian fitting is the most efficient on noisy coefficient maps. Then a subpixel image registration method for SAR and optical images is proposed. Normalized gradient correlation (NGC) algorithm is used to solve the problem of different intensity property at first, and by combining 2D Gaussian fitting to relocate matched points at a subpixel level accuracy. Experiment results have shown that the proposed method has enough capabilities in handling differences between images from multi-sensors. The proposed approach has been found to be simple and efficient in implementation with a low computation load. And the most important performance is the results presented here have achieved matching accuracy within 1 pixel.

Spiking neural P systems with anti-spikes (ASN P systems) are variant forms of spiking neural P systems, which are inspired by inhibitory impulses/spikes or inhibitory synapses. The typical feature of ASN P systems is when a neuron contains both spikes and anti-spikes, spikes and anti-spikes wil immediately annihilate each other in a maximal way. In this paper, a restricted variant of ASN P systems, cal ed ASN P systems without anni-hilating priority, is considered, where the annihilating rule is used as the standard rule, i.e., it is not obligatory to use in the neuron associated with both spikes and anti-spikes. If the annihilating rule is used in a neuron, the annihilation wil consume one time unit. As a result, such systems using two categories of spiking rules (identified by (a, a) and (a,a^-)) can achieve Turing completeness as number accepting devices.

In this paper, quantitative analysis was implemented to reveal the mechanism of temperature distributions inside cross-flow stack. For this purpose, a differential model of planar cross-flow SOFC stack was built. The effectiveness of this model on describing temperature distributions were full validated by experiments on single cell and a 40-cell stack. Then, the quantitative analysis was given from two aspects, namely heat produced by reactions and heat transmission between gases and solid layer. Particularly, we rigorously revealed the non-intuitive phenomenon that the fuel temperatures were decreasing inside SOFC stack along the fuel flow direction. Moreover, the research idea and the analytical method proposed in this paper also apply to co-flow and counter-flow SOFC.

The rapid progress in the research and development of electronics, sensing, signal processing, and communication networks has significantly advanced the state of applications of intelligent transportation systems(ITS). However, efficient and low-cost methods for gathering information in large-scale roads are lacking. Consequently, wireless sensor network(WSN) technologies that are low cost, low power, and self-configuring are a key function in ITS. The current state of the art of application scenarios of WSNs for urban transportation is captured in this paper, where solutions are discussed under their related application schemes. This paper also points out the potential application scenarios and design requirements of WSN for urban transportation.
