A double recursive algorithm based on fuzzy entropy for image thresholding is proposed. The inner recursive step is to calculate the threshold between the given gray level interval, and the outer recursive step is to calculate the optimal for the image with small objects. Experiments on steel billet image show that the proposed algorithm can threshold image fast and exactly, which has effectiveness and application for real time image segmentation. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Today, the world economy is in the stage of rapid development, followed by the rising quantity, the decreasing moisture content, and the increasing heat value of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Since waste incineration has the advantages of excellent volume reduction effect, high resource utilization efficiency, and less secondary pollution to the environment, waste incineration disposal technology has received extensive attention worldwide. With the continuous increase of the urban population, the amount of sewage sludge is growing year by year. The process of the sludge incineration system is highly complicated, and the cost of construction and operation is high. The waste incinerator can process not only MSW but also sewage sludge. Therefore, the co-incineration of sewage sludge with MSW in the existing waste incinerator is a safe and effective way to dispose of sewage sludge. In this paper, the simulation results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are analyzed for medium-scale and large-scale waste incinerators, characterized by high moisture content, high ash content, low heat value of sewage sludge, and incomplete combustion and high pollutant emissions in waste incinerators. With FLIC-Fluent coupled simulation method, the critical information such as temperature field, velocity field, concentration field of principal components, and the pollutant emissions can be predicted. Based on the CFD simulation results, the performance and structure of waste incinerators can be optimized, and the new products can be designed and developed. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. A method for real-time fast detection and symptom analysis of cracks in highway asphalt pavement is proposed. At the first step, the fissure characteristic of the acquired and de-noised pavement images is analyzed and then extracted by the method based on gray value comparison between the current pixel and its neighboring pixels, the false cracks are deleted by using the computed measurement of crack features, thus the true fissures are detected. The most important step is the symptom analysis of the cracks in the pavement image, all the data could be analyzed and be the basis for the agencies to remedy and manage the pavement. Quantities of images are processed and the results show that the proposed method can detect the pavement distress information actually, and has robustness and availability. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

The aim of the present work is to assess the performance of three-dimensional Double Directional Filtering (TDDDF) algorithm for detecting and tracking a weak moving dim target against a complex cluttered background in infrared image sequences. This paper proposes an novel TDDDF to improve the integrated signal-to-clutter ratio (ISCR) and enhance the three-dimensional directional filter's (TDDF) target energy accumulation ability further. Since the TDDDF do well to whitening noise (or quasi whitening noise) but not so sensitive to complex cloudscene background, prior to the filtering, a newly pre-whitening method termed Spatial-Temporal Adaptive Filtering algorithm is used here to suppress clutter background. Extensive experiment results demonstrate the proposed algorithm's ability in detecting weak dim point target against cloud-cluttered background. Finally, performance comparisons of the proposed algorithm and TDDF, on real IR image data, are presented in which the advantages of the proposed TDDDF filters are shown.

Early fire detection is very important for preventing forest fires. In this paper, a new image-based fire detection algorithm, named as h-EfflcientDet, is proposed to complete the task of early forest fire detection. h-EfflcientDet is based on a popular deep learning approach EfficientDet (scalable and efficient object detection) by replacing the nonlinear activation function swish of the EfficientDet with the hard version of swish and combing also with an efficient feature fusion network BIFPN (bidirectional feature pyramid network), which can improve significantly the efficiency of the fire detection model. The experiment results show that the proposed h-EfficientDet can detect the fire in real-time with the detection speed of 21 FPS. The detection accuracy is up to 98.35% with a low miss detection rate. © 2021 IEEE.

High power ultrasonic transducers are widely used in the fields of ultrasonic cleaning, ultrasonic welding and therapeutic ultrasound. To further improve the ultrasonic intensity and power of piezoelectric transducers for power ultrasound applications, the cascaded piezoelectric transducer have received tons of attention. The electromechanical equivalent circuit, as a classical transducer analysis method, translates the structural and mechanical parameters into the corresponding circuit parameters and helps us to better understand and analyze the performance characteristics of the transducer, which is of great significance for the design and optimization of the transducer. In this paper, a new theoretical analysis method based on the equivalent circuit is proposed for cascaded piezoelectric transducer. In this method, the equivalent circuit of each component of the longitudinal piezoelectric transducer is cascaded, and equivalent circuit is analyzed using the Kirchhoff's law to obtain the frequency resonance equation of the piezoelectric transducer. This analysis method avoids the complex equivalent transformation of the equivalent circuit including multiple excitation sources and also obtains the vibration velocity of the piezoelectric transducer radiation surfaces, more information on the vibration characteristics of the transducer was gained from the theoretical aspect. Finally, the theoretical analysis results are compared with the finite element simulation analysis and the traditional analysis results for verification. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Aims: The paper is concerned with the problem of robust H∞ output feedback control for photovoltaic nonlinear system. Background: The PV systems are built to transform sun irradiance into electrical power. The dc-dc converters, such as buck type, boost type, and buck-boost type, have been widely implemented in the PV systems. Linear controllers for dc-dc converters are often designed based on mathematical models. To get a desired performance objective, an accurate model is essential. Objective: There has been increasing interest in the scheme of digital controller design for dc-dc converters. However, most of the research efforts are focused on the representation based on the standard forward-shift operator approach, which are of inherently ill-conditioned when datum are taken at high sampling rates. Compared with the forward-shift operator, the delta operator has many virtues which can be applied as a better representation of the underlying physical model under high sampling rates. Despite the delta operator possessing the superior high sample rate performance has been recognized in the past two decades, there exists little literature discussing the analysis and syn-thesis of photovoltaic nonlinear systems by using delta operator fuzzy control method, which moti-vates us to make an effort in this topic. Methods: We propose a Fuzzy Dynamic Output Feedback (FDOF) controller, and introduce a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii Functional (LKF) in delta domain, the framework of robust H∞ output feedback control is investigated. Results: Sufficient conditions are derived for the existence of the desired FDOF controllers in terms of Linear-Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). A numerical example is used to illustrate the design procedure of the present method. Conclusion: This paper has studied the problems of robust H∞ output feedback control for photo-voltaic nonlinear system with interval time-varying delay and parametric uncertainties. In order to solve the challenge of multi-objective team personalized tourism route design, in view of the shortcomings of the existing divide and conquer algorithms, this study proposes an innovative personalized tourism route design method based on fuzzy APACA. This new scheme uses the principles of gradient descent theory to accurately identify and locate key influencing factors, and accordingly carries out a sensible classification of indicators to reduce possible interference. At the same time, by using the unique mechanism of fuzzy APACA, this scheme cleverly constructs the design strategy of tourism routes. The empirical results show that this scheme shows a significant improvement compared with the traditional divide and conquer algorithm in terms of key performance indicators such as the accuracy of personalized tourism route design and the processing efficiency of key factors, showing its obvious strong advantages. In the multi-objective team, the personalized tourism route design plays a crucial role, which can accurately predict and optimize the growth trend and output results of the multi-objective team's personalized tourism route design. However, in the face of complex simulation tasks, traditional divide-and-conquer algorithms show some inherent shortcomings, especially when dealing with multi-level challenges, their performance is often unsatisfactory. To overcome this, this study introduces a new idea of fuzzy APACA optimization for the design of personalized tourism routes, and accurately controls the influencing parameters through gradient descent theory, which is used as the road map for index allocation, and then uses fuzzy APACA to innovate and construct a system scheme. The test results clearly point out that in the context of the evaluation criteria, the new scheme has been significantly optimized in terms of accuracy and processing speed for a variety of challenges, showing stronger performance superiority. In English learning, speaking practice is crucial, but traditional classroom teaching can hardly meet the needs of most learners. In this paper, we investigate and improve the two essential techniques of pronunciation error detection and pronunciation quality evaluation in the Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) system. In terms of pronunciation error detection, We extracted phoneme pairs' discriminative acoustic and phonological features. We used Support Vector Machine (SVM) for pronunciation error detection, and the accuracy was improved to 81.26%. For pronunciation quality evaluation, we added two new dimensions of pronunciation fluency and intonation, innovatively designed the word duration ratio, and introduced the Support Vector Regression (SVR) algorithm to achieve the effective integration of different dimensional features. The experiments show that the improved pronunciation quality evaluation model has higher performance and practical value. © 2023 IEEE.
