Steel billet recognition is an urgent requirement in the steel industry of heavy rail line. Due to high temperature and complex scene in the rolling line, the recognition at the end of billet is quite different from optical character recognition with simple background and vehicle license plate recognition. In order to solve the problem, this paper presents some new schemes in character location, segmentation and recognition in the complex scene. These proposed algorithms include the location algorithm of multilevel filter based on separability criterion, the segmentation algorithm based on intelligent multiagent and the recognition algorithm of character features matching combining the template matching. The results show that the proposed algorithms are effective for steel billet character recognition in the complex scene.

The work presented in this paper mainly focuses on designing a monolithic current-mode boost DC-DC converter with integrated 22V DMOS FET power switch and control circuits. The boost converter operating at fixed frequency of 1.6MHz has been fabricated with a 1.5μm Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD) process. The chip with features of wide input voltage range (2.7V to 14V), high efficiency over large load range (1mA to 500mA), low shutdown current, fast transient response and low power, was designed for mobile power management applications. Besides issues such as technology choice, power switch optimization and ramp compensation, the paper also copes with the monolithic switching noise in switching power IC circuits.

Vessel segmentation is the base of 3d reconstruction of Digital Subtraction Angiograph (DSA) images. This paper proposes a framework of adaptive local thresholding based on a verification-based approach for vessel segmentation of DSA images. The original DSA image is firstly divided into overlapping subimages according to a priori knowledge of the diameter of vessels. We implement a hypothesis test to determine whether each subimage contains vessels and then choose an optimal threshold respectively for every subimage previously determined to contain vessels, with a secondary verification process to exclude the condition that the subregion only containing the background but misclassified as one containing vessels by the hypothesis test. Finally an overall binarization of the original image is achieved by combining the thresholded subimages. Experiments demonstrate superior performance over global thresholding and some adaptive local thresholding methods.
