Preserving details and avoiding high computational costs are the two main challenges for the High-Resolution Salient Object Detection (HRSOD) task. In this paper, we propose a two-stage HRSOD model from the perspective of evolution and succession, including an evolution stage with Low-resolution Location Model (LrLM) and a succession stage with High-resolution Refinement Model (HrRM). The evolution stage achieves detail-preserving salient objects localization on the low-resolution image through the evolution mechanisms on supervision and feature;the succession stage utilizes the shallow high-resolution features to complement and enhance the features inherited from the first stage in a lightweight manner and generate the final high-resolution saliency prediction. Besides, a new metric named Boundary-Detail-aware Mean Absolute Error (MAEBD) is designed to evaluate the ability to detect details in high-resolution scenes. Extensive experiments on five datasets demonstrate that our network achieves superior performance at real-time speed (49 FPS) compared to state-of-the-art methods. Recently, Discriminative Correlation Filter based trackers have increasingly become popular in the domain of visual object tracking, which is benefited by their effective and robustness in terms of tracking performance. However, the significant variations of target appearance, such as Occlusion or Deformation, always suppress the performance improvement. Although the multi-feature fusion strategy partly alleviates the above factors, the synthetic scheme also ambiguates the overall presentation ability of multiple features and results in degradation of discriminative power during classification filter learning. In this paper, we present a novel tracking framework based on the correlation filter with multiple kernel learning. Instead of directly integrating different features, we decompose a tracking process into several module, including low-dimension modules and high-dimension modules. The handcraft features extracted from low-dimension modules are robust to the small variation of target while the semantic convolutional features from the high-dimension modules can distinguish the target object from the relative complex tracking environment. In addition, we also design a reliability detection mechanism based on the confidence map to accurately measure the important degree of each kernel learning and precisely estimate the target state in the subsequent frames. For verifying our proposed tracker, we conduct extensive experiments on several standard sequence benchmark. Experiment results show that our proposed trackers perform favorably against other state-of-the-art trackers. © 2022 ACM.

The electrical-gas coupled power flow problem is one of the most basic problems under Energy Internet. In order to achieve a more complete analysis of the electric-gas coupled power flow, this paper establishes a novel integrated energy system model that considers electricity and natural gas. This model integrates the power system AC power flow model and the non-isothermal process of natural gas pipeline transmission, achieving a more accurate description of the power grid and gas network power flow. At the same time, the beneficial effects of energy storage units on the network of each part of the system are analyzed. Through simulation design, the benefits of energy storage access on system cost and security are analyzed and quantified.

Localization using a monocular camera in the pre-built LiDAR point cloud map has drawn increasing attention in the field of autonomous driving and mobile robotics. However, there are still many challenges (e.g. difficulties of map storage, poor localization robustness in large scenes) in accurately and efficiently implementing cross-modal localization. To solve these problems, a novel pipeline termed LHMap-loc is proposed, which achieves accurate and efficient monocular localization in LiDAR maps. Firstly, feature encoding is carried out on the original LiDAR point cloud map by generating offline heat point clouds, by which the size of the original LiDAR map is compressed. Then, an end-to-end online pose regression network is designed based on optical flow estimation and spatial attention to achieve real-time monocular visual localization in a pre-built map. In addition, a series of experiments have been conducted to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method. Our code is available at: https://***/IRMVLab/LHMap-loc.

In this paper, both the marginal and joint statistics of second generation Orthogonal bandelet transform (OBT) coefficients of natural images are firstly studied, and the highly non-Gaussian marginal statistics and strong interscale, interlocation and interdirection dependencies among OBT coefficients are found. Then a Hidden Markov tree (HMT) model in OBT domain which can effectively capture all dependencies across scales, locations and directions is developed. The main contribution of this paper is that it exploits the edge direction information of OBT coefficients, and proposes an image denoising algorithm (B-HMT) based on HMT model in OBT domain. We apply B-HMT to denoise natural images which contaminated by additive Gaussian white noise, and experimental results show that B-HMT outperforms the Wavelet HMT (W-HMT) and Contourlet HMT (C-HMT) in terms of visual effect and objective evaluation criteria.

FoldExplorer: Fast and Accurate Protein Structure Search with Sequence-Enhanced Graph Embedding

The advent of highly accurate protein structure prediction methods has fueled an exponential expansion of the protein structure database. Consequently, there is a rising demand for rapid and precise structural homolog search. Traditional alignment-based methods are dedicated to precise comparisons between pairs, exhibiting high accuracy. However, their sluggish processing speed is no longer adequate for managing the current massive volume of data. In response to this challenge, we propose a novel deep-learning approach FoldExplorer. It harnesses the powerful capabilities of graph attention neural networks and protein large language models for protein structures and sequences data processing to generate embeddings for protein structures. The structural embeddings can be used for fast and accurate protein search. And the embeddings also provide insights into the protein space. FoldExplorer demonstrates a substantial performance improvement of 5% to 8% over the current state-of-the-art algorithm on the benchmark datasets. Meanwhile, FoldExplorer does not compromise on search speed and excels particularly in searching on a large-scale dataset. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In order to improve the efficiency of indoor mobile robots in locating and segmenting environmental instances, an instance segmentation method based on RTMDet is proposed. Firstly, the more powerful ConvNeXt V2 is used as the backbone network of the model, which improves the performance of the existing RTMDet model. Subsequently, NAS-FPN is used as a converged network to detect the network at any given time. Finally, AdamW is used as the model optimiser, which effectively solves the problem of excessive memory occupation when updating parameters and improves the performance of the model. The proposed method obtains the highest evaluation index in all cases. After training and testing on the Cityscapes data set, the recognition accuracy reaches 65.0%. © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

The interoperability of heterogeneous networks, including hybrid industrial wired/wireless protocols, is a vital aspect of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) since various industrial protocols have coexisted. Therefore, it is hard to obtain a multiple protocol conversion solution with the flexible configuration. Moreover, the previous works do not adapt to the Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), which is considered as the potential technology of IIoT. To tackle the above problems, we proposed an architecture of the multiple conversion system supporting the conversion of multiple protocols. Then, we proposed a protocol conversion mechanism to improve the flexibility of multiple protocol conversion by separating into data and configuration planes. Moreover, we propose a TSN-compatible frame with dynamic priority mapping algorithm, which adjusts the priority in the VLAN tag by the processing delay. Finally, we develop a hardware module and system supporting multiple protocol conversion, which verify that the proposed architecture could satisfy the flexible conversion requirement through the experiments. © 2022 IEEE.

Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells(PEMFCs) are prone to decreased lifespan due to the degradation of the platinum(Pt) catalyst during *** this study,we have established a one-dimensional model to investigate the effects of different voltage conditions on Pt *** potential is found to be the most significant factor affecting the *** exposure to high potentials will significantly reduce the PEMFC's lifespan,and frequent voltage changes will exacerbate the *** mitigate this issue,we have designed three energy management strategies with different limitations and simulated their performance in the operating scenario of a fuel-cell hybrid electric vehicle(FCHEV).The results demonstrate that strategies restricting high potential occurrences and voltage variations can effectively alleviate Pt degradation.
