Refrigerant leakage is common in the use of dehumidifier, leading to decrease of dehumidification ability. To detect refrigerant capacity effectively and maintain it timely, a neural network with deep learning skills was proposed based on time series. As input of networks, the time series consists of the operating parameters of the dehumidifier at multiple time points. To determine the refrigerant capacity, the proposed method combines the outputs on the neural networks of all the time series examples in a single run of dehumidifier. As the result suggests, the proposed method is capable of detecting the refrigerant capacity with a low missing rate and high accuracy, which improves the maintenance mechanism of the dehumidifier and is of great significance to ensuring a comfortable air environment for user. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

The artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm is one of well-known evolutionary algorithms, which has been successfully applied to many continuous or combinatorial optimization problems. To increase further its convergence speed and avoid being trapped in local optimum, this paper proposes an improved ABC algorithm (IABC), which aims to enhance diversification of search at each stage of the ABC algorithm. Firstly, a chaotic mapping rule is established by introducing a chaos operator into the initial position generation rules in order to ensure the ergodicity of initial positions. Then, an isometric contraction parallel search rule is devised, based on which a neighborhood search on initial positions is performed to enhance the convergence speed and the local search ability. Next, a parallel selection strategy is developed by using roulette and reverse roulette simultaneously, which allows selecting poor positions to escape from local optimum. Meanwhile, a global updating mechanism based on gravitational potential field is developed, which can guide the rejection and generation of positions to accelerate the convergence of the algorithm. The computational results show that the IABC can improve the convergence speed and solution quality without falling into the local optimum prematurely. Finally, a further analysis on the IABC is conducted using the Taguchi method, which focuses on the factor level setting related to the following key factors: chaotic mapping rules in the initial position generation rules, isometric contraction parallel search rules, parallel selection strategies and the update threshold in the global updating mechanism. The results display that the optimal combination of factor levels has been achieved in the IABC. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

As a pivotal mechanical component of turbine drive-chain, gearbox suffers from various accidents and fault diagnosis could remarkably enhance its reliability and maintain running safety and lifetime. Vibration-based analysis on single-channel is mainly adopted in previous diagnostic, which cannot catch full vibration inner information in gearbox sensors and bring model performance down. In this paper, a novel method based on the fusion of multi-direction and multi-source signals and the convolutional neural network (MDMS-CNN) is presented. This method can obtain multi-dimensional feature maps from MDMS and preserve the time correlation among different signal sequences. First, features from MDMS are extracted via a corrosion conversion method that converts signals into two-dimensional (2-D) gray images. Then, homologous images are spliced into same channels, while heterogeneous images are superimposed to different channels. Finally, fusion features are input into CNN for fault classification. In experiments, the method is validated on a gearbox diagnosis case. Results have shown that the proposed method achieves 99.86% recognition accuracy and faster convergence speed compared to others. © 2022 IEEE.

Scene text recognition (STR) methods combined with semantic information have made great progress to recognize texts in natural scenes, most of which are daily words. However, research on mining semantic information in industrial texts attracts less attention. Since industrial texts follow a different semantic pattern defined by industry standards, it challenges many existing methods to conduct accurate semantic reasoning. In this paper, we abstract the industry standards into two aspects of prior knowledge: the grouping property and the prior lexicon. Correspondingly, a knowledge-based language model is proposed with several group-wise correlation modules and a lexicon-based reasoning module to learn semantic rules from both data and the prior knowledge. Besides, we transfer the prior knowledge into data by generating synthetic pure text datasets according to the industry standards' rules, which introduces more prior knowledge to the language model. Furthermore, a novel STR framework is presented by combining the knowledge-based language model and an attention-based vision model. For evaluation, two industrial text datasets called CIN and SB are collected from real-world industrial field surveillance. Experiments indicate that our method's word-level accuracy outperforms state-of-the-art methods with 15% and 10.61% on CIN and SB datasets respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

Target detection and location in infrared clutter background is very important to infrared search and track system. Especially for small target detection in infrared image in background of sea and sky, there are no geometric and structure character to use. When targets such as ship and naval vessel sailing at long distance, they always appear around the sea-level line, and it is mixed with cloud and sea-wave clutter. It is difficult to segment and locate precisely. Background suppression based-on wavelet transformation is proposed in the paper. Wavelet decomposition makes it possible to analyze a signal both in time and frequency domains. In the paper infrared sea and key background images are processed. For their SNR is low and background is complex, using wavelet transformation decomposes an original image and extract approximate feature to reconstruct an image, which mainly includes background information. A new image will be obtained using background image subtracted from original image. There are mainly target and noise points left in the new image. By setting proper threshold, the target can be detected perfectly. At last, experiment results are given and show the method is practical. © 2005 IEEE.

In this paper, a nonlinear chaotic system is presented, which is derived from the chua's circuit with a memristor. This is a four-dimensional autonomous circuit which exhibits chaotic behavior. The chaotic system is demonstrated by Lyapunov exponent, and phase portraits. Furthermore, this system can be stabilized by a switched feedback controller which can be obtained by solving a set of LMIs. And the results will be demonstrated by the numerical simulation. © 2011 IEEE.

Solving the optimal control problem with a free final time, such as suborbital launch vehicle (SLV) trajectory optimization with two control variables and multi-constraints ones based on particle swarm optimization (PSO), the smoothness of control variable can not be satisfied by linear interpolation method. A novel method including some improving strategies based on PSO for trajectory optimization is proposed, named LCPSO which is a kind of Cooperate PSO based on Legendre orthogonal polynomials. An additional control variable is introduced and transcribes the original optimal problem to a problem with fixed final time, and one dimension searching method based on interval analysis is used to optimize the additional control variable. Furthermore, a theorem on how to find the boundaries of the coefficient of polynomials is proved. Compared with basic PSO, LCPSO has traits of lower dimensions and smoother control variable. An example of trajectory optimization shows the effectiveness of the LCPSO algorithm. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper investigates secure consensus problems of nonlinear dynamical networks (NDNs) with node delay under denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, which can cause a break in communication links. It will lead to packet loss. To ensure the secure consensus in this scenario, we propose an effective impulsive control which only based on sampled information from neighbor nodes. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and the impulsive comparison principle, an upper bound of the average impulse interval is derived to ensure the exponential consensus of NDNs under DoS attacks, and the convergence rate can be estimated. Finally, a numerical example is provided to check the theory results. © 2021 Chinese Automatic control Society and John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd.

Grain inspection robots can detect abnormal information such as grain insects and impurities on the grain surface by deploying detection nodes, it has a significant for the safety of grain storage. Generally, the grey wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm has significant advantages such as fewer control parameters and easy implementation, is one of the commonly employed approaches aiming to solve the problem in many fields. However, the traditional GWO has the shortcomings such as poor population initialization diversity, slow convergence speed and easily fall into local optimal values, it is difficult to solve deployment of inspection nodes problem in the grain surface. In this study, an improved Latin Hypercube grey wolf optimization (LH-GWO) is presented to overcome the disadvantages of the traditional GWO algorithm in solving inspection node deployment problem. The LH-GWO algorithm contains two novel mechanisms which are the Latin Hypercube Sampling population initialization and an improved nonlinear convergence factor. Moreover, a grain surface boundary inspection nodes deployment strategy is proposed to optimize the location of nodes at the boundary. For verifying the effectiveness of the proposed LH-GWO, comparing with six commonly used algorithms based on benchmark functions experiment and coverage rate experiment. The experimental results demonstrate the merits of LH-GWO in terms of convergence speed, optimization accuracy and area coverage. Finally, the optimal inspection nodes are divided into three inspection regional areas by k-means algorithm clustering, and in each inspection regional area, the optimal inspection path of each robot is determined by solving the travel salesman problem (TSP). © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.
