Evolutionary Multitasking Descriptor Optimization for Point Cloud Registration

Point cloud registration is an important task for other point cloud tasks. Feature-based methods are widely adopted for their speed and efficiency in point cloud registration. The descriptive capability of features extracted by a single geometric descriptor is limited. Descriptive capabilities can be improved by concatenating features extracted from multiple descriptors. However, due to the existence of redundant and irrelevant features, the correct corresponding points are difficult to match, which further affects the registration effect. We propose an evolutionary multitasking point cloud descriptor optimization method. Integrate existing descriptors to optimize descriptors with stronger description ability. Labeling features to calculate the feature importance for the registration and generating multitasks. In optimized processing, approximate evaluation which is calculated by prior correspondence saved in the database replaces the expensive searching correspondences process in the entire point cloud. Finally, a multiscale filter is developed to remove error correspondences by the geometric information from multiple scale descriptor features. Experimental demonstrate that the proposed approach can optimize a feature subset with higher descriptive capability compared to other methods and show superior point cloud registration performance on 14 point cloud models. The leakage of hazardous gases poses a significant threat to public security and causes environmental *** effective and accurate source term estimation(STE)is necessary when a leakage accident ***,most research generally assumes that no obstacles exist near the leak source,which is inappropriate in practical *** solve this problem,we propose two different frameworks to emphasize STE with obstacles based on artificial neural network(ANN)and convolutional neural network(CNN).Firstly,we build a CFD model to simulate the gas diffusion in obstacle scenarios and construct a benchmark ***,we define the structure of ANN by searching,then predict the concentration distribution of gas using the searched model,and optimize source term parameters by particle swarm optimization(PSO)with well-performed cost ***,we propose a one-step STE method based on CNN,which establishes a link between the concentration distribution and the location of ***,we propose a novel data processing method to process sensor data,which maps the concentration information into feature *** comprehensive experiments illustrate the performance and efficiency of the proposed methods.

Analysis of Government-Taxation Methods and Maritime Companies’ Strategies Under Emission-Reduction Incentives

The current emission-reduction trend in the shipping industry is inevitable. This study uses a multi-stage Stackelberg game to establish a low-carbon maritime supply chain model that includes a government, a carrier, and a port. The government can choose to impose carbon taxes only on the port or on both the port and carrier, while there are different power structures: port-led or carrier-led. Equilibrium solutions in different scenarios indicate that the leading port’s profit is not affected by the implementation of a carbon tax, while the carrier, surprisingly, hopes to join the carbon-tax policy. Both the government and the carrier prefer a bilateral carbon-tax scenario led by the carrier, while the port has the opposite preference. In the process of seeking coordination opportunities, we find that, driven by shippers’ low-carbon preferences, the maritime supply chain exhibits a "triple increasing" phenomenon, which means higher cargo volume, more emission reduction, and higher freight prices. The government and carrier can control the occurrence of this phenomenon and promote an all-win scenario through the use of carbon taxes and subsidies. We provide coordination strategies for unilateral carbon taxes in the maritime supply chain under different power structures and demonstrate the important role of the government in coordination. This provides a new direction for the implementation of carbon taxes in the maritime supply chain. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the capability to sculpt complex radiative wavefronts and couple energy from the reference wave to the desired radiation pattern, metasurface antennas have gained tremendous progress in recent years. The flexibility in antenna design gives rise to a bunch of metasurface antennas, while there is still a comprise between the needed operation band and radiation field pattern coherence. Furthermore, the relatively low sampling ratio and overlap between frequency measurement modes would inevitably pose a great challenge for matched filter and other advanced sparsity-driven post-processing imaging algorithms. In this paper, we design a deep neural network to achieve fast scene image reconstruction. The trained network could fastly reconstruct the imaged object in both low scene compressed ratio and high coherence of the measurement modes. The imaging experiments with measured radiation field data are conducted to verify the effectiveness of our method. © 2021 IEEE.

Short-Term Residential Load Forecasting Via Pooling-Ensemble Model with Smoothing Clustering

Short-term residential load forecasting is essential to demand side response. However, the frequent spikes in the load and the volatile daily load patterns make it difficult to accurately forecast the load. To deal with these problems, this paper proposes a smoothing clustering method for daily load clustering and a pooling-ensemble model for one day ahead load forecasting. The whole shortterm load forecasting framework in this paper contains three steps. Specifically and firstly, the states of the residents are obtained by clustering the daily load curves with the proposed smoothing clustering method. Secondly, a weighted mixed Markov model is built to predict the probability distribution of the load state in the next day. Thirdly, multiple predictors in the pooling-ensemble model are selected for different states and the load is forecasted by weighing the results of the multiple predictors based on the predicted states. Results of the case studies and comparison studies on two public datasets verify the advantages of the smoothing clustering method and the pooling-ensemble model. © 2023, The Authors. Joint Load Prediction of Multiple Buildings Using Multi-Task Learning with Selected-Shared-Private Mechanism

Short-term load forecasting for residential buildings is of great significance to ensure the safe and economic operation of power grid. However, most of the existing prediction methods focus on the temporal characteristics of individual buildings and ignore the importance of spatial characteristics between different buildings. To tackle this problem and realize joint prediction for multiple buildings, a novel multi-task learning model with the selected-shared-private mechanism is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the temporal and spatial characteristics hidden in electricity consumption patterns are analyzed and represented by auto-correlation and cross-correlation, respectively. Then, a correlation-oriented combination strategy considering the auto-correlation and time dependency is proposed to build input set for the prediction model, and the temporal convolutional network is adopted to extract features. Furthermore, this paper designs a novel selected-shared-private mechanism based on the cross-correlation, which can selectively utilize information from related tasks while focusing on private features to improve prediction accuracy. The proposed model is compared with other methods on the public dataset, and the results demonstrate the superiority of this model in load prediction for multiple buildings. © 2023, The Authors. Differential privacy is a widely used framework for evaluating privacy loss in data anonymization. While the continuous noise-adding mechanism has been extensively studied, there is a dearth of research on discrete random mechanisms for discretely distributed data. This study addresses this gap by examining the primary differential privacy conditions and properties for general discrete random mechanisms, and investigating the trade-off between data privacy and data utility. We establish sufficient and necessary conditions for discrete ϵ-differential privacy and sufficient conditions for discrete (ϵδ)-differential privacy, with closed-form expressions for differential privacy parameters. These conditions can be applied to evaluate the differential privacy properties of discrete noise-adding mechanisms with various types of noise. Moreover, we propose an optimal discrete ϵ-differential private noise-adding mechanism under the utility-maximization framework. Here, the utility is characterized by the similarity of the statistical properties between the mechanism's input and output. Our findings suggest that the optimal class of discrete noise probability distributions in the mechanism is staircase-shaped. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

In this paper,the entrapping control problem of discrete-time AUVs with local coordinate frames is *** achieve entrapment in arbitrarily shaped orbits and formations,we design a bearingbased leader-following framework fully in the discrete-time domain with four parts:the orientation estimation unit,estimator unit,controller unit and parameters tuning *** bearing measurements and communication information,the orientation estimation unit can estimate orientations of local coordinate frames infinite time,and the estimator unit can achieve local *** on estimation,the controller unit can drive each AUV to track the desired orbit or formation with an arbitrary *** present su±cient conditions under which stability of the overall system is proved using the theorem offinite-time stability and LaSalle's theorem for the discrete-time ***,the parameters tuning unit can calculate optimal parameters to improve overall ***,we extend our schemes to nonholonomic AUVs with unicycle ***,simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

ColorDynamic: Generalizable, Scalable, Real-time, End-to-end Local Planner for Unstructured and Dynamic Environments

Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) has demonstrated potential in addressing robotic local planning problems, yet its efficacy remains constrained in highly unstructured and dynamic environments. To address these challenges, this study proposes the ColorDynamic framework. First, an end-to-end DRL formulation is established, which maps raw sensor data directly to control commands, thereby ensuring compatibility with unstructured environments. Under this formulation, a novel network, Transqer, is introduced. The Transqer enables online DRL learning from temporal transitions, substantially enhancing decision-making in dynamic scenarios. To facilitate scalable training of Transqer with diverse data, an efficient simulation platform E-Sparrow, along with a data augmentation technique leveraging symmetric invariance, are developed. Comparative evaluations against state-of-the-art methods, alongside assessments of generalizability, scalability, and real-time performance, were conducted to validate the effectiveness of ColorDynamic. Results indicate that our approach achieves a success rate exceeding 90% while exhibiting real-time capacity (1.2–1.3 ms per planning). Additionally, ablation studies were performed to corroborate the contributions of individual components. Building on this, the OkayPlan-ColorDynamic (OPCD) navigation system is presented, with simulated and real-world experiments demonstrating its superiority and applicability in complex scenarios.
