Instance segmentation is a comprehensive computer vision task that involves a wide range of other tasks. Recently, the study of real-time instance segmentation methods has received more attention for the development of autonomous driving. Although existing real-time instance segmentation methods are fast, their accuracy does not meet practical needs. Most methods go for segmentation based on object detection, and their effectiveness is overly dependent on the effectiveness of detection. This paper proposes a new attention-based multiscale information fusion method based on Cheng, T. et al. [1]. Firstly, the PPM module of the baseline network is replaced with the module Multiscale Context Attention (MSCA) designed in this paper based on the baseline network, which uses atrous convolution with different ratios to obtain information of four scales, and then uses non-local attention to enhance the information of features. It can effectively suppress the interference of redundant information on the instance segmentation results. Secondly, a new feature fusion approach is designed, which no longer uses bilinear interpolation, but sub-pixel up sampling combined with attention. We did experiments related to this module on the coco dataset and demonstrated its effectiveness, with a 0.5% improvement over the baseline network. © 2022 IEEE.

Passenger flow prediction is of great significance for public transportation. Most of the existing studies mainly predict the flow for a single station only extracting temporal features without considering spatial features. Passenger flow predicting for multiple stations or even the whole network is beneficial to grasp the overall situation, which has more research value in practical application. Thus, a passenger flow prediction model for multiple stations has been proposed based on spatio-Temporal attention mechanism. This model is applied to Xiamen bus rapid transit (BRT) using the time granularity of 5-min. The experimental results demonstrate that our model improves the prediction accuracy compared to the baselines. © 2023 The authors and IOS Press.

The automatic segmentation of MRI multi-modal images of brain tumors is one of the important research contents of disease detection and analysis. Due to the heterogeneity of tumors, it is difficult to achieve efficient and accurate automatic segmentation of brain tumors. Traditional segmentation methods based on machine learning cannot handle complex scenes such as complex edges and overlapping categories. In clinical assisted diagnosis, it is of great significance to apply deep learning to two-dimensional natural image segmentation and three-dimensional medical image segmentation. In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional network model to achieve precise segmentation of brain tumors. The model adopts an encoder-decoder structure and replaces ordinary convolution with grouped convolution to reduce network parameters and improve network performance. The model improves the problem of information exchange between different groups through channel mixing. Experiments conducted on the BraTS (Brain Tumor Segmentation) 2018 challenge dataset prove that our network greatly reduces the computational cost while ensuring segmentation accuracy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Gait planning of quadruped robots plays an important role in achieving less walking, including dynamic and static gait. In this article, a static and dynamic gait control method based on center of gravity stability margin is proposed. Firstly, the robot model and kinematics modeling are introduced. Secondly, the robot's foot static and dynamic gait were planned and the foot trajectory was designed. Finally, two types of gait of the robot were simulated using Vrep simulation software, and the differences in stability and speed between the coordinated gait with speed and stability in the static and dynamic gait of a 12 degree of freedom robot were analyzed, verifying the effectiveness of the gait control method proposed in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

A simulation method about ground-based sensor observing, tracking and imaging space object is researched. Research on the location of sea-sky line under infrared complicated sea-sky background has the important value to improve the capability of far target recognition. In a real sea-sky background infrared image, the sky and the sea normally appear in the form of different changes of grey-level on account of their different infrared radiation and reflection characteristics. So we can use the background complex degree to differentiate between the sky region and the sea region. In our method, an operator is employed to calculate the background complex degree of image. By filtering original infrared image with the operator, the grey-level contrast between the sky region and the sea region can be stronger than original image. After the complex degree calculation, the edge detection with only row directional gradient and Hough transform are utilized in succession, the sea-sky line can be located. Some typical sea-sky background infrared images are selected to validate our proposed method. The experimental results indicate that our sea-sky line location method is robust. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

The recent increase of space threats yields the idea of using the existing star trackers to perform surveillance of space objects from space. In the missions, due to the observer attitude dynamics, smearing affects the observed stars on the image in space surveillance. Besides, the reflecting flying space objects or debris as spurious stars affects the attitude determination. These are devastating for most star identification algorithms in star trackers. To resolve the problems, this paper defines a star pattern, called Flower code, which is composed of angular distances and circular angles as the characteristics of the pivot star. The angular distances are used for initial lookup table match. Moreover, the circular angles are used for the cyclic dynamic match between the sensor pattern and the pattern candidates from the initial match. The focus of the results is the evaluation of the influence of the reflecting flying spacecraft or debris as spurious stars and the attitude dynamics of the observer spacecraft, on the performance of the algorithms. A number of experiments are carried out on simulated images. The results demonstrated that the proposed method is efficient and robust. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Station classification plays an important role in urban intelligent transportation systems. Recently, most of studies usually choose different features to analyze the function of stations. Moreover, they usually choose K-means as the clustering method, which may lead to unstable clustering results. Therefore, a novel clustering model (Transformer Encoder Clustering, TEC) has been proposed for station classification by only using passenger flow data. Firstly, transformer encoder has been applied to deeply extract the features from original passenger flow. Then, an improved Canopy + has been proposed to determine the initial centers for K-means. Finally, a novel evaluation metric (NR) has been introduced to verify the stability and volatility of station classification results. Experiments are conducted on Xiamen bus rapid transit ridership dataset. The results show that the 44 stations have been classified into three categories, and the NRs in all stations are 0.75, which verifies the stability of results for station classification. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Medical imaging technology has become one of the indispensable computer-assisted intervention methods in clinical disease diagnosis and treatment, including identifying and locating lesion areas, detecting and segmenting tissue and organ lesions in different modalities. The wide application of medical image analysis in clinical examination and medical auxiliary diagnosis has effectively improved the diagnostic efficiency of doctors. In this paper, we propose a novel and effective model to achieve semantic segmentation of cataract datasets. This model uses the self-supervised method BYOL for parameter pre-training, which improves the model's ability to extract image consistency features. In addition, we have added a lightweight Coordinate attention mechanism to the backbone network to enable the model to independently learn the correlation between the channel and the space and enhance the ability of network feature expression. Experiments are conducted on the cataract endoscopy fine-grained segmentation data set, showing the effectiveness of the proposed method for segment the organs and surgical instruments in the cataract surgical microscope image, which demonstrates the accuracy and robustness of the proposed method. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
