CrossGLG: LLM Guides One-shot Skeleton-based 3D Action Recognition in a Cross-level Manner

Most existing one-shot skeleton-based action recognition focuses on raw low-level information (e.g., joint location), and may suffer from local information loss and low generalization ability. To alleviate these, we propose to leverage text description generated from large language models (LLM) that contain high-level human knowledge, to guide feature learning, in a global-local-global way. Particularly, during training, we design 2 prompts to gain global and local text descriptions of each action from an LLM. We first utilize the global text description to guide the skeleton encoder focus on informative joints (i.e.,global-tolocal). Then we build non-local interaction between local text and joint features, to form the final global representation (i.e., local-to-global). To mitigate the asymmetry issue between the training and inference phases, we further design a dual-branch architecture that allows the model to perform novel class inference without any text input, also making the additional inference cost neglectable compared with the base skeleton encoder. Extensive experiments on three different benchmarks show that CrossGLG consistently outperforms the existing SOTA methods with large margins, and the inference cost (model size) is only 2.8% than the previous SOTA. CrossGLG can also serve as a plug-and-play module that can substantially enhance the performance of different SOTA skeleton encoders with a neglectable cost during inference. A new type of rehabilitation robot that can follow the user side-by-side is designed for aiding the elderly and disabled. The Human Following Rehabilitation Robot (HFRR) consists of a metal armrest, a set of sensors and a differential mobile base. By predicting the user's speed in the future through the user's current walking speed and the preset path, the problem of human following side-by-side is converted to a problem of keeping a certain lateral distance from the predicted trajectory. Linearizing the tracking error model, the nonholonomic mobile robot (NMR) can maintain a certain lateral distance from the trajectory by using Model Predictive control (MPC) and then follow the user side-by-side. The simulation and experimental results show the proposed controller can obtain good performance in this problem.

Spatial audio is an important component of the metaverse. With the rapid increase of the spatial resolution and the number of objects, the data volume of the spatial side information has grown larger. However, the low bit rate transmission of spatial side information in the object-based audio coding methods leads to the low-quality reconstruction of spatial side information with limited bandwidth. To address this issue, this paper constructs a cascade design of spatial audio coding and unequal error protection (UEP) rateless codes. Furthermore, the further protection of specific spatial side information is proposed for different scenarios, which effectively addresses the limitation of traditional spatial audio coding in side information protection. For the situation where the code length K of different importance levels is different, we propose an adaptive degree distribution (ADD), adding K to the selection probability as an influencing factor, which has better performance than other degree distribution for short code length. ADD is used to replace the multiple degree distribution strategy of the traditional unequal error protection scheme, and the block error rate (BER) is reduced nearly 10 times compared with the traditional scheme.

This article considers the H∞ static output-feedback control for linear time-invariant uncertain systems with polynomial dependence on probabilistic time-invariant parametric uncertainties. By applying polynomial chaos theory, the control synthesis problem is solved using a high-dimensional expanded system which characterizes stochastic state uncertainty propagation. A closed-loop polynomial chaos transformation is proposed to derive the closed-loop expanded system. The approach explicitly accounts for the closed-loop dynamics and preserves the L2-induced gain, which results in smaller transformation errors compared to existing polynomial chaos transformations. The effect of using finite-degree polynomial chaos expansions is first captured by a norm-bounded linear differential inclusion, and then addressed by formulating a robust polynomial chaos based control synthesis problem. This proposed approach avoids the use of high-degree polynomial chaos expansions to alleviate the destabilizing effect of truncation errors, which significantly reduces computational complexity. In addition, some analysis is given for the condition under which the robustly stabilized expanded system implies the robust stability of the original system. Locating and Sizing Charging Station in Multi-Period to Promote Electric Vehicles Adoption in Urban Areas

The layout of public fast charging stations often fails to meet the charging demand of electric vehicle (EV) users, resulting in charging anxiety. To address this issue and promote the widespread use of EVs in urban areas, this paper presents a multiperiod locating and sizing optimization model under dynamic demand. The model incorporates GPS trajectory extraction data to identify potential charging demand points and considers the mobile load characteristics of EVs for fusion modeling. A multiperiod change formula is proposed to reflect the interaction between public fast charging stations and EV market penetration, incorporating charging opportunity and waiting time satisfaction as measures of charging service quality. To solve the model, a heuristic algorithm combining genetic algorithm (GA) and k-medoids clustering algorithm is designed. We apply the model to an actual case of Shenzhen and find that increasing investment in charging infrastructure can boost EV market penetration in the later planning period. Moreover, the gap between charging opportunity and waiting time satisfaction tends to narrow as the planning progresses. Our findings highlight the importance of optimizing the location and size of public fast charging stations to improve the charging service quality and promote the adoption of EVs. © 2023, The Authors. Object detection, as of one the most fundamental and challenging problems in computer vision, has received great attention in recent years. Over the past two decades, we have seen a rapid technological evolution of object detection and its profound impact on the entire computer vision field. If we consider today's object detection technique as a revolution driven by deep learning, then back in the 1990s, we would see the ingenious thinking and long-term perspective design of early computer vision. This paper extensively reviews this fast-moving research field in the light of technical evolution, spanning over a quarter-century's time (from the 1990s to 2022). A number of topics have been covered in this paper, including the milestone detectors in history, detection datasets, metrics, fundamental building blocks of the detection system, speed-up techniques, and the recent state-of-the-art detection methods. Most contemporary supervised Remote Sensing (RS) image Change Detection (CD) approaches are customized for equal-resolution bitemporal images. Real-world applications raise the need for cross-resolution change detection, aka, CD based on bitemporal images with different spatial resolutions. Given training samples of a fixed bitemporal resolution difference (ratio) between the high-resolution (HR) image and the low-resolution (LR) one, current cross-resolution methods may fit a certain ratio but lack adaptation to other resolution differences. Toward continuous cross-resolution CD, we propose scale-invariant learning to enforce the model consistently predicting HR results given synthesized samples of varying resolution differences. Concretely, we synthesize blurred versions of the HR image by random downsampled reconstructions to reduce the gap between HR and LR images. We introduce coordinate-based representations to decode per-pixel predictions by feeding the coordinate query and corresponding multi-level embedding features into an MLP that implicitly learns the shape of land cover changes, therefore benefiting recognizing blurred objects in the LR image. Moreover, considering that spatial resolution mainly affects the local textures, we apply local-window self-attention to align bitemporal features during the early stages of the encoder. Extensive experiments on two synthesized and one real-world different-resolution CD datasets verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Our method significantly outperforms several vanilla CD methods and two cross-resolution CD methods on the three datasets both in in-distribution and out-of-distribution settings. The empirical results suggest that our method could yield relatively consistent HR change predictions regardless of varying bitemporal resolution ratios. With the development of artificial intelligence integrated next-generation communication networks, mobile users (MUs) are increasingly demanding the efficient processing of computation-intensive and latency-sensitive tasks. However, existing mobile computing networks struggle to support the rapidly growing computational needs of the MUs. Fortunately, space-air-ground integrated network (SAGIN) supported mobile edge computing (MEC) is regarded as an effective solution, offering the MUs multi-tier and efficient computing services. In this paper, we consider an SAGIN supported MEC system, where a low Earth orbit satellite and multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are dispatched to provide computing services for MUs. An energy efficiency maximization problem is formulated, with the joint optimization of the MU-UAV association, the UAV trajectory, the task offloading decision, the computing frequency, and the transmission power control. Since the problem is non-convex, we decompose it into four subproblems, and propose an alternating optimization based algorithm to solve it. Service computing techniques have achieved remarkable results in solving the cohesiveness problem of Web applications and are therefore introduced into the IoT do-main to break the trend of inlining IoT systems. However, compared with the traditional Internet, IoT has richer elements and semantic connotations, so the existing service description framework needs to be improved and extended. In this paper, we propose an ontology description framework for IoT services, design corresponding inference rules, and give a storage method for IoT services by integrating the knowledge graph technology for the strongly associated characteristics of IoT services. On this basis, an algorithm for combining IoT services based on graph planning is proposed. The experimental results show that the proposed method in this paper can provide richer entity semantics and ef-fectively improve the efficiency and success rate of IoT service composition. © The Authors.
