Exponential synchronization of coupled memristive neural networks via pinning control

This paper is concerned with the exponential synchronization problem of coupled memristive neural networks. In contrast to general neural networks, memristive neural networks exhibit state-dependent switching behaviors due to the physical properties of memristors. Under a mild topology condition, it is proved that a small fraction of controlled sub- systems can efficiently synchronize the coupled systems. The pinned subsystems are identified via a search algorithm. Moreover, the information exchange network needs not to be undirected or strongly connected. Finally, two numerical simulations are performed to verify the usefulness and effectiveness of our results.

The theory of Stochastic Resonance (SR) has drawn significant attention due to its exceptional ability to detect faint signals. Despite this, research to date indicates that for SR systems, whether they are monostable, bistable, or multi-stable, modifications to the system parameters lead to concurrent alterations in the depth and breadth of the potential wells when analyzing engineering signals, which results in suboptimal detection outcomes. To address these issues, a two-dimensional Gaussian bistable coupled SR (GBCSR) system has been proposed that can individually adjust the potential well characteristics. This innovative system facilitates the separate adjustment of shape characteristics of potential, allowing for more precise manipulation of the system's dynamic response. The system's non-linear dynamic traits are explicated through an analysis of the steady-state probability density (SPD) function and the mean first passage time (MFPT), substantiating the effectiveness of the new model. In practical scenarios, a variety of bearing defect signals serve as the objects of detection. The structural parameters of the GBCSR system are co-optimized using the Brain Storm Optimization (BSO) algorithm. This optimization approach leverages the algorithm's ability to enhance population diversity and improve convergence accuracy, thereby optimizing the system's performance. The experimental outcome results show that the proposed system can accurately detect the frequency of bearing fault signals. When compared with traditional SR systems such as the traditional bistable stochastic SR (TBSR), the traditional Gaussian SR system (TGSR), and the cascade stochastic resonance system, the proposed coupled system demonstrates superior performance. In this work, we introduce an innovative approach to single-molecule quantum coherence (SMQC)-based disposable micro-optical anti-counterfeiting labels. This method facilitates the editing and reading of anti-counterfeiting with single molecules used as the anti-counterfeiting information labels. The label is meticulously crafted through inkjet printing technology, while its authentication is achieved via frequency domain imaging. Through a validation process including experimental demonstration, numerical simulation, and neural network analysis, we demonstrate the feasibility of this approach, further validate the integrity of the miniature anti-counterfeiting information storage, and verify the signal extraction accuracy with the recognition accuracy of the labels is consistently above 99.995%. The combination of SMQC-based disposable micro-optical anti-counterfeiting technology is expected to enable more precise preparation of single-molecule-array chips, thus providing a crucial foundation for the advancement of high-tech and intelligent manufacturing industries.

Spiking neural （SN） P systems are a class of distributed parallel computing devices inspired by the way neurons communicate by means of spikes. In this work, we investigate reversibility in SN P systems, as well as the computing power of reversible SN P systems. Reversible SN P systems are proved to have Turing creativity, that is, they can compute any recursively enumerable set of non-negative integers by simulating universal reversible register machine.

Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a non-contact method for measuring heart rate (HR) through facial video, breaking the constraints of contact measurements and offering broad application prospects. However, in real monitoring scenarios, the distance of subjects and facial illumination often vary. This leads to degradation of rPPG signals due to changes in facial resolution and light intensity. This paper presents the High and Low Frequency Feature Adversarial Learning Network (HLFF-AL), which utilizes feature space interpolation and composite feature capture to perform multi-band global and local signal extraction. By adopting an adversarial learning strategy, it enhances the capability to capture semantic information of rPPG under varying resolutions and lighting, bridging the differences in rPPG signal generation due to resolution changes. While maintaining accuracy in HR measuring, the robustness of the network is improved to achieve robust measurement of HR via rPPG. Even under high-resolution conditions, the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) for the three public datasets - unchanging lighting (COHFACE, UBFC-rPPG) and varying lighting (BUAA-MIHR) - reached 1.10 bpm, 1.64 bpm, and 4.41 bpm, respectively, with a mere 0.29 bpm difference in MAE between high and low resolutions on the BUAA-MIHR dataset. This demonstrates that HLFF-AL can predict more robust rPPG signals in various resolutions and lighting scenarios, achieving competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Exploring brain function is crucial for unraveling the pathological mechanism underlying stroke. while most studies focus on brain function emphasize dynamic connections and interactions within or between brain regions, they often ignore the global properties of large-scale network topology. In this study, we analyzed resting-state EEG microstates in stroke patients, calculating key parameters such as mean duration (MD), occurrence (OC), time coverage (TC), and transition probability (TP) across different microstate classes. As a result, we identified four microstate classes (A, B, C, and D) in both healthy subjects and stroke patients. Notably, stroke patients showed significant changes in Class B, C, and D, with increased MD, OC, and TC in Class B and C and decreased MD, OC, and TC in Class D. additionally, stroke patients displayed higher TP between Class B and C than healthy controls. Moreover, we observed a positive correlation between the OC of Class D and clinical Fugl-Meyer scores, suggestion a link between microstate dynamic and motor recovery. This study highlights the connection between specific microstates and brain regions, providing evidence that stroke patients demonstrate increased activity in visual and salience networks, but decreased activity in the dorsal attention network. We speculate these results from changes in the occipital lobe, frontal lobe, parietal lobe, and dorsal anterior cingulate cortex. These findings deepen our understanding of stroke pathophysiology and support further research. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Hardware-in-the-loop simulation technology of wide-band radar targets based on scattering center model

Hardware-in-the-loop （HWIL） simulation technology can verify and evaluate the radar by simulating the radio frequency environment in an anechoic chamber. The HWIL simulation technology of wide-band radar targets can accurately generate wide-band radar target echo which stands for the radar target scattering characteristics and pulse modulation of radar transmitting signal. This paper analyzes the wide-band radar target scattering properties first. Since the responses of target are composed of many separate scattering centers, the target scattering characteristic is restructured by scattering centers model. Based on the scattering centers model of wide-band radar target, the wide-band radar target echo modeling and the simulation method are discussed. The wide-band radar target echo is reconstructed in real-time by convoluting the transmitting signal to the target scattering parameters. Using the digital radio frequency memory （DRFM） system, the HWIL simulation of wide-band radar target echo with high accuracy can be actualized. A typical wide-band radar target simulation is taken to demonstrate the preferable simulation effect of the reconstruction method of wide-band radar target echo. Finally, the radar target time-domain echo and high-resolution range profile （HRRP） are given. The results show that the HWIL simulation gives a high-resolution range distribution of wide-band radar target scattering centers.

Dual-mode predictive control of a rotor suspension system

Rotor active magnetic bearing(rotor-AMB) systems are frequently used to alleviate vibrations for various applications such as in national defense, manufacturing industries, IC production, and aerospace engineering. One obstacle to improve machining efficiency and quality is the open-loop instability of rotorAMB systems during the machining process. We built a closed-loop processing platform using a spindle rotor installed with AMBs and thereby developed a rotor-AMB suspension system embedded with a dual-mode predictive controller(DMPC). The performance of the system is thus substantially improved. In the proposed DMPC, both model-based prediction and receding horizon optimization are utilized to guarantee the closedloop stability of the rotor-AMB suspension systems with input constraints. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method are examined through substantial levitation experiments on a machining platform with installed AMBs.

Echo state network based symbol detection in chaotic baseband wireless communication

The Chaotic Baseband Wireless Communication System(CBWCS)is expected to eliminate the Inter-Symbol Interference(ISI)caused by multipath propagation by using the optimal decoding threshold that is the sum of the ISI caused by past decoded bits and the ISI caused by future transmitting ***,the current technique is only capable of removing partial effects of the ISI,because only past decoded bits are available for the suboptimal decoding threshold *** unavailability of the future information needed for the optimal decoding threshold is an obstacle to further improve the Bit Error Rate(BER)*** contrast to the previous method using Echo State Network(ESN)to predict one future bit,the proposed method in this paper predicts the optimal decoding threshold directly using *** proposed ESN-based threshold prediction method simplifies the symbol decoding operation by avoiding the iterative prediction of the output waveform points using ESN and accumulated error caused by the iterative *** this approach,the calculation complexity is reduced compared to the previous ESN-based *** proposed method achieves better BER performance compared to the previous *** reason for this superior result is ***,the proposed ESN is capable of using more future symbols information conveyed by the ESN input to obtain more accurate threshold rather than the previous method in which only one future symbol was ***,the proposed method here does not need to estimate the channel information using Least Squared(LS)method,which avoids the extra error caused by inaccurate channel information *** results and experiment based on a wireless open-access research platform under a practical wireless channel show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

Micro-assembly of micro parts using uncalibrated microscopes visual servoing method

In micromanipulation, the microscope vision servoing can achieve a high performance. In order to avoid the complicated calibration of intrinsic parameter of camera, We apply an improved broyden's method to estimate the image jacobian matrix on line, which employs Chebyshev polynomial to construct a cost function to approximate the optimization value, obtaining a fast convergence for online estimation. Using the estimated jacobian matrix, a PD visual controller is used to make features converge to desired values with satisfactory dynamic performance. The experiments of micro-assembly of micro parts m microscopes confirm that the proposed method is effective and feasible. © 2008 Asian Network for Scientific Information.
