Behavioral control task supervisor with memory based on reinforcement learning for human-multi-robot coordination systems

In this study,a novel reinforcement learning task supervisor(RLTS)with memory in a behavioral control framework is proposed for human–multi-robot coordination systems(HMRCSs).Existing HMRCSs suffer from high decision-making time cost and large task tracking errors caused by repeated human intervention,which restricts the autonomy of multi-robot systems(MRSs).Moreover,existing task supervisors in the null-space-based behavioral control(NSBC)framework need to formulate many priority-switching rules manually,which makes it difficult to realize an optimal behavioral priority adjustment strategy in the case of multiple robots and multiple *** proposed RLTS with memory provides a detailed integration of the deep Q-network(DQN)and long short-term memory(LSTM)knowledge base within the NSBC framework,to achieve an optimal behavioral priority adjustment strategy in the presence of task conflict and to reduce the frequency of human ***,the proposed RLTS with memory begins by memorizing human intervention history when the robot systems are not confident in emergencies,and then reloads the history information when encountering the same situation that has been tackled by humans *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed ***,an experiment using a group of mobile robots subject to external noise and disturbances validates the effectiveness of the proposed RLTS with memory in uncertain real-world environments.

Adaptive Power Regulation control for Floating Wind Turbines with Guaranteed Transient Performance

Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) hold significant potential for developing wind energy in deep-sea areas. However, they are prone to additional motions, heavy workloads, and undesirable fluctuations under combined wind-wave loads. To tackle these issues, this paper presents a novel adaptive blade pitch control strategy with guaranteed transient performance for FOWTs operating in above-rated wind speed regions. This strategy effectively suppresses platform pitch motion to enhance system stability while maintaining the power output at its rated value. Specifically, this method initiates by defining a filtered regulation error to solve the non-affine nature of its model. An adaptive blade pitch controller is subsequently proposed, integrating an online learning approximator to cope with the unknown dynamics caused by unmeasurable external environmental inputs and model uncertainties. To further mitigate approximation errors, a nonlinear robust control law with adaptive gains is employed, enhancing the robustness and adaptive capabilities of the controller. Superior to the traditional adaptive controllers, a significant advantage of this strategy is its ability to quantify and ensure regulatory performance within predefined constraints during both transient and steady-state stages, thereby achieving high-performance control in power regulation. Finally, simulation studies are conducted using the OpenFAST software to show the capability of the presented blade pitch controller, which guarantees stable power generation with guaranteed transient performance. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

To meet the demand of the laser application market for semiconductor laser function diversification, this paper proposes a handheld multi-wavelength laser stack packaging module. The 808 nm, 915 nm, and 980 nm semiconductor laser bars are selected for the integrated assembly of the multi-wavelength module. However, with the continuous increase of the optical power density of the integrated packaging module, thermal management has become a key factor affecting the performance and life of the device. In this paper, the finite element analysis method is used to analyze the influence of the arrangement of three laser stripe chips in the stacked packaging structure on the heat dissipation of the multi-wavelength module. The simulation results show that the heat dissipation efficiency of the multi-wavelength module can be improved by 13.74 % by changing the arrangement of chips. A back heat dissipation packaging structure with higher heat dissipation efficiency is proposed, and the influence of chip arrangement and working mode on the thermal characteristics of the device in the new packaging structure is simulated and analyzed. According to the simulation results, a chip arrangement that can make the heat dissipation effect of the multi-wavelength module achieve the best is determined. © 2022 Institute of Physics Publishing. To solve the problem of low performance of network intrusion detection,a deep learning intrusion detection model based on space-time fusion features and attention mechanism—CLT-net is *** this model,space-time fusion features are obtained by integrating convolutional neural network and long short-time memory network,and attention module is added to calculate the importance of the input features,and softmax function is used for *** a large number of simulation experiments on NSL-KDD data sets,CLT-net has significantly improved the convergence of the training set and the accuracy of the test *** with the traditional CNN model with similar structure and the space-time fusion CLSTM the accuracy of the model increased by 11.8% and 10.9%*** shows that this model has great potential in the application field of network intrusion detection.

With the continuous development of the wind power industry, variable-speed wind turbines (VSWT) are moving towards large-scale, and their applications have been expanded to offshore areas. However, the operating environment of offshore wind farm is even more harsh, and the potential torsional vibration of the drivetrain caused by disturbances in the offshore wind farm may introduce fatigue damage to the VSWT, resulting in unexpected faults that may lead to prolonged shutdown of the VSWT and loss of power generation efficiency. This study proposes a torsional vibration suppression strategy based on unknown input observer and sliding mode control. The proposed suppression strategy provides an appropriate electromagnetic torque compensation for the generator to mitigate disturbances in the whole control system. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is validated by extensive simulation studies. © 2024 IEEE.

Simple molecular graphs or molecular line notations are insufficient for molecular representation learning models that automatically learn molecule representations to acquire deep semantic features about chemistry. Therefore, we proposed the Morgan Fingerprint Graph, a novel molecular graph model constructed with the nodes of the Morgan Fingerprint Identifier, whose nodes incorporate various properties of the atom neighborhood. Based on our Morgan Fingerprint Graph, we trained a BERT-based molecular representation model MFGB which employs a local rather than global attention module to adapt the model to the Morgan Fingerprint Graph. The attention module of MFGB regulates the exchange of information in the attention layer based on the connection information of the atoms in the molecules. To verify the effectiveness of MFGB, we selected several mainstream datasets for evaluation. The results demonstrated that our method improve the performance of molecular properties prediction. In addition, we analyzed MFGB from both the over-smoothing and the attention perspectives. The analysis indicates that the node vector representations learned from the Morgan Fingerprint Graph are generally less smoothing, and the attention distributions of MFGB match the partial charge density distribution of the molecules. © 2023 IEEE.

In the era of artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC), conditional multimodal synthesis technologies (e.g., text-to-image) are dynamically reshaping the natural content. Brain signals, serving as potential reflections of how the brain interprets external information, exhibit a distinctive one-to-many correspondence with various external modalities. This correspondence makes brain signals emerge as a promising guiding condition for multimodal synthesis (e.g., image, text, and audio), which is crucial for developing practical brain–computer interface systems and unraveling complex mechanisms underlying human perception. This survey comprehensively examines the emerging field of brain-conditional multimodal synthesis, termed AIGC-brain, to delineate the current landscape and future directions. To begin, related neuroimaging datasets and generative models are introduced as the foundation of AIGC-brain decoding and analysis. Next, we present a comprehensive taxonomy according to AIGC-brain methodologies, followed by task-specific representative work and implementation details to facilitate in-depth comparison and analysis. Quality assessments are then introduced for both qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Finally, this survey explores insights gained, outlining current challenges and prospects of AIGC-brain. As a pioneering survey, this article paves the way for future advances in AIGC-brain research. © 2020 IEEE.

Short-term load forecasting of buildings plays a key role in demand management, however, when dealing with massive data, the prevalent practice of training and testing the system as a whole overlooks pattern variations inside data and potentially limits predictive performance. To address this issue, this paper proposes an ensemble deep random vector functional link (edRVFL) model that combines adaptive ensemble clustering and dynamic weighting strategy for load forecasting of an industrial building. Firstly, the adaptive ensemble clustering that combines ordering points to identify the clustering structure and K nearest neighbor is employed to determine the electricity load usage patterns. Subsequently, the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is applied to adjust the weights of load curves in different typical day scenarios. Finally, a dynamic weighting strategy is designed to dynamically assign model weights to two clusters, where one matches the type of predicted load pattern for the day being forecasted and another for the cluster of the previous day. The experiment in a real building verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, which has higher prediction accuracy than other comparison algorithms including one-week interval and different ensemble clustering.

Toward carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals in China, a transition from traditional fossil power to renewable energy becomes an imperative need. This paper aims to address the planning problem of a highly renewable-energy penetrated energy hub system, coupled with carbon capture facilities and downstream production processes of hydrogen and methanol, under the uncertainty of renewable power output. To this end, we propose a two-stage distributionally robust optimal planning model, where investment decisions are the first-stage variables and operation variables are determined at the second stage after the realization of uncertainty. In the proposed model, we utilize historical data samples to construct a strengthened ambiguity set that leverages both Wasserstein distance and moment information for a better characterization of renewable generation uncertainty. Moreover, to efficiently solve the proposed planning problem, we develop a simplified affine decision rule method in a general setting with both moment and Wasserstein ambiguity, and then apply it to reformulate the distributionally robust planning problem. The derived reformulation possesses the favorable property that its scale is free from the sample size, thus greatly reducing the computational complexity. Computational results validate the effectiveness of the proposed planning model and the computational efficiency of the solution methodology. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

This paper examines the event-triggered consensus of the multi-agent system on matrix-weighted networks, where the interdependencies among higher-dimensional states of neighboring agents are characterized by matrix-weighted edges in the network. Specifically, a novel distributed dynamic event-triggered coordination strategy is proposed for this category of generalized networks, in which an auxiliary system is employed for each agent to dynamically adjust the triggering threshold, which plays an essential role in guaranteeing that the triggering time sequence does not exhibit Zeno behavior. Distributed event-triggered control protocols are proposed to guarantee leaderless consensus for multi-agent systems on matrix-weighted networks, respectively. Remarkably, the spectrum of matrix-valued weights is crucial in event-triggered mechanism design for matrix-weighted networks, generalizing those results only applicable for scalar-weighted networks. The proposed approach allows each agent to broadcast and receive information only at its triggering instants. Finally, simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the theoretical results. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.
