Armchair graphene nanoribbons(AGNRs)with sub-nanometer width are potential materials for the fabrication of novel nanodevices thanks to their moderate direct band *** are usually synthesized by polymerizing precursor molecules on substrate ***,it is time-consuming and not suitable for large-scale *** can also be grown by transforming precursor molecules inside single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)via furnace annealing,but the obtained AGNRs are normally *** this work,microwave heating is applied for transforming precursor molecules into *** fast heating process allows synthesizing the AGNRs in *** different molecules were successfully transformed into AGNRs,suggesting that it is a universal *** importantly,as demonstrated by Raman spectroscopy,aberrationcorrected high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and theoretical calculations,less twisted AGNRs are synthesized by the microwave heating than the furnace *** results reveal a route for rapid production of AGNRs in large scale,which would benefit future applications in novel AGNRs-based semiconductor devices.

A nonlinear wake model of a wind turbine considering the yaw wake steering

Duo to fluctuations in atmospheric turbulence and yaw control strategies,wind turbines are often in a yaw *** predict the far wake velocity field of wind turbines quickly and accurately,a wake velocity model was derived based on the method of momentum conservation considering the wake steering of the wind turbine under yaw *** consider the shear effect of the vertical incoming wind direction,a two-dimensional Gaussian distribution function was introduced to model the velocity loss at different axial positions in the far wake region based on the assumption of nonlinear wake *** work also developed a“prediction-correction”method to solve the wake velocity field,and the accuracy of the model results was verified in wake experiments on the Garrad Hassan wind ***,a 33-kW two-blade horizontal axis wind turbine was simulated using this method,and the results were compared with the classical wake model under the same parameters and the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation *** results show that the nonlinear wake model well reflected the influence of incoming flow shear and yaw wake steering in the wake velocity ***,computation of the wake flow for the Horns Rev offshore wind farm with 80 wind turbines showed an error within 8%compared to the experimental *** established wake model is less computationally intensive than other methods,has a faster calculation speed,and can be used for engineering calculations of the wake velocity in the far wakefield of wind turbines.

In this paper, we present a new approach to estimate the pose of an object being manipulated by a multi-fingered robotic hand. The method utilizes advanced tactile sensors with high spatial resolution to optimize the estimation of the object's pose using an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) based approach. We defined and derived the state and measurement equations, as well as evaluated the estimation accuracy in grasping tasks. The approach is able to effectively account for the pose transition caused by tactile pushing, and the mapping from the object's pose to the contact position and normal direction as measured by the tactile sensor. The method was evaluated in multiple grasping experiments in simulation scenarios. Results show that the estimation can converge towards the ground truth in a relatively short period of time, with displacement and rotation errors remaining within acceptable levels. This new method has the potential to improve the accuracy and reliability of robotic grasping and manipulation tasks. © 2023 IEEE.

Femtocell network has a great development space in increasing coverage and capacity of wireless network. In order to meet the quality of service (QoS) requirements of MUEs in MBS coverage, we propose a seed channel incentive mechanism in the two-tier femtocell network, where the MBS provides sub-channels to FBSs to motivate them to serve for the MUEs within the MBS coverage. To maximize the energy efficiency of femtocell layer after hybrid access, the optimization problem is modeled. The combined method of worst-case, Dinkelbach and continuous convex approximation is developed to make the optimization problem solvable. In addition, in order to realize the practical application of the proposed scheme, an optimization algorithm combining sub-channel and power allocation is developed. The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is effective in improving the energy efficiency of the femtocell layer. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper we extend our previous research on coherent observer-based pole placement approach to study the synthesis of robust decoherence-free (DF) modes for linear quantum passive systems, which is aimed at preservation of quantum information. In particular, DF modes can be generated by placing the poles on the imaginary axis via a coherent feedback design scheme, and these modes can further be simultaneously made robust against perturbations to the system parameters by minimizing the condition number associated with imaginary poles. We develop explicit algebraic conditions for the existence of such a coherent quantum controller, with the corresponding deign procedure provided. Examples are given to illustrate the process of tuning the DF modes towards perfect robustness via the proposed pole placement technique. © 2024 IEEE.

Micro-texturing has been widely proven to be an effective technology for achieving sustainable ***,the performance of micro-textured tools under different cooling conditions,especially their coupling effect on machined surface integrity,was scarcely *** this paper,the non-textured,linear micro-grooved,and curvilinear micro-grooved inserts were used to turn aluminum alloy 6061 under dry,emulsion,and liquid nitrogen cryogenic cooling *** coupling effects of different micro-textures and cooling conditions on cutting force,cutting temperature,and machined surface integrity,including the surface roughness,work hardening,and residual stress,were revealed and discussed in *** indicated that the micro-grooved tools,especially the curvilinear micro-grooved tools,not only reduced the cutting force and cutting temperature,but also improved the machined surface *** addition,the micro-grooved tools can cooperate with the emulsion or liquid nitrogen to reduce the cutting force,cutting temperature,and improve the machined surface integrity generally,although the combination of emulsion cooling condition and micro-grooved tools generated negative coupling effects on cutting forces and surface work ***,the combination of curvilinear micro-grooved cutting tools and cryogenic cooling condition resulted in the lowest cutting force and cutting temperature,which generated the surface with low roughness,weak work hardening,and compressive residual stress.

This study employs nine distinct deep learning models to categorize 12,444 blood cell images and automatically extract from them relevant information with an accuracy that is beyond that achievable with traditional *** work is intended to improve current methods for the assessment of human health through measurement of the distribution of four types of blood cells,namely,eosinophils,neutrophils,monocytes,and lymphocytes,known for their relationship with human body damage,inflammatory regions,and organ illnesses,in particular,and with the health of the immune system and other hazards,such as cardiovascular disease or infections,more in *** results of the experiments show that the deep learning models can automatically extract features from the blood cell images and properly classify them with an accuracy of 98%,97%,and 89%,respectively,with regard to the training,verification,and testing of the corresponding datasets.

In the real ocean environment, as a result of the limited resources or sensor failures, not all states of the vehicles can be available, so the design of the observer is particularly important. In this paper, a novel reduced order observer-solving process is designed, and the parameters are directly chosen to deal with the inherent couplings, avoiding being compensated as the Lipschitz terms, moreover, the convergence rates of observer error states are guaranteed. The formation control of multiple surface vehicles is solved. The simulation results show that the proposed reduced order observer in this paper can effectively estimate the unknown velocities, and the controller can effectively solve the formation problem of multiple surface vehicles. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.
