The prevalence of polyfluoroalkyls and perfluoroalkyls (PFAS) represents a significant challenge, and various treatment techniques have been employed with considerable success to eliminate PFAS from water, with the ultimate goal of ensuring safe disposal of wastewater. This paper first describes the most promising electrochemical oxidation (EO) technology and then analyses its basic principles. In addition, this paper reviews and discusses the current state of research and development in the field of electrode materials and electrochemical reactors. Furthermore, the influence of electrode materials and electrolyte types on the deterioration process is also investigated. The importance of electrode materials in ethylene oxide has been widely recognised, and therefore, the focus of current research is mainly on the development of innovative electrode materials, the design of superior electrode structures, and the improvement of efficient electrode preparation methods. In order to improve the degradation efficiency of PFOS in electrochemical systems, it is essential to study the oxidation mechanism of PFOS in the presence of ethylene oxide. Furthermore, the factors influencing the efficacy of PFAS treatment, including current density, energy consumption, initial concentration, and other parameters, are clearly delineated. In conclusion, this study offers a comprehensive overview of the potential for integrating EO technology with other water treatment technologies. The continuous development of electrode materials and the integration of other water treatment processes present a promising future for the widespread application of ethylene oxide technology. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

MMLN: Multi-directional and Multi-constraint Learning Network for Remote Sensing Imagery Semantic Segmentation

Recent advances in satellite remote sensing technology and computer technology have significantly impacted practical applications in remote sensing image segmentation. However, the prevalent hybrid segmentation models that combine Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Transformers, often overlook the critical exploration of local and global feature correlations across various scales. This exploration is essential for learning more representative features and strengthening context modeling capabilities. Additionally, the decoding layers of these models do not effectively exploit the pixel-level semantic relationships within cross-layer feature maps, thereby limiting the models' ability to discern small object features. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a Multi-directional and Multi-constraint Learning Network (MMLN) designed for semantic segmentation of remote sensing imagery. This network features a Multi-directional Dynamic Complement Decoder (MDCD), which enhances the interaction between local and global features in the feature space, and subsequently improves the feature discrimination within the segmentation network. Moreover, a Multi-constraint Saliency Boundary-adaptive Module (MSBM) is implemented to reinforce the spatial constraints on saliency at the edge regions and ensure semantic consistency along the mask boundaries. This, in turn, augments the segmentation model's capability to detect small objects. The evaluation on four datasets reveals that the MMLN outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods in remote sensing imagery segmentation. The code is available at https://***/zhongyas/MMLN. Smooth Planning for Manipulator with Multi-dimensional Actuator based on Quintic B-spline

In order to solve the impact problem of uneven velocity during continuous operation for manipulator with multi-dimensional actuator, a smooth planning scheme based on Quintic B-spline algorithm was proposed. Firstly, the physical model of multi-dimensional actuator and its working principle were introduced. At the same time, the motion of the output axis vertex in space was decomposed into three steps, which can make the position relationship between the points more intuitive and convenient for our study. Secondly, the characteristics of Quintic B-spline algorithm were analysed. In this step, the B-spline interpolation function was defined at first, and the basis function of polynomial of degree p was defined according to the relevant information and its characteristics were indicated. Then, we analysed the node sequence parameters. For Quintic B-spline algorithm, when the position sequence of the rotor running track was given, three conditions must be satisfied to uniquely determine the corresponding B-spline function, namely: node vector, control vertex and the degree p of the B-spline curve. On this basis, the boundary constraints and control vertices were solved, which was a very important step. By solving the control vertices of Quintic B-spline curve, a smooth and continuous angular displacement curve can be obtained. The addition of four boundary conditions greatly increases the controllability of the system, making the rotor can start and stop in any way within the constraint conditions, and the connection of each interpolation point is smooth and continuous. The Quintic B-spline algorithm interpolation curve was obtained by simulation based on the time-position sequence of the actuator interpolation points. The results of the interpolation curve verified the effectiveness of the Quintic B-spline algorithm. Modern data center network often possesses multiple end-to-end parallel paths, which undertake the crucial task of transmitting vast heterogeneous data traffic generated by a wide variety of applications. To fully utilize the offered super high bisection network bandwidth thus benefiting application performance, many data center load balancing schemes are proposed to improve path utilization for avoiding network congestion hot-spot. However, these schemes are naturally agnostic to data center traffic pattern and the diverse requirements on flow-transmission, leading to the sub-optimal network transmission performance. To address this issue, this paper presents a new data center load balancing scheme, called PCLB, which selectively generates Clone Packets by considering both flow-transmission phases and path states, thereby helping different types of flows choose more appropriate paths for speeding up their data transmission. Experimental results of numerous NS2 simulations show that PCLB significantly reduces the average and tail flow completion time for delay-sensitive flows, while the performance of throughput-oriented flows can be always maintained at high level. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper studied the fast consensus of discrete multi-agent systems (MASs) with time delay. A consensus protocol incorporating memory information is formulated to accelerate consensus. The necessary and sufficient conditions to reach average consensus are provided. Furthermore, an optimal design of the fast consensus for MASs with small delay is given, and the explicit solutions of the fastest convergence speed and corresponding optimal control gains are deduced. Finally, the theoretical findings are validated through numerical simulations, underscoring the effectiveness of the nronosed annroach. © 2023 IEEE.

The relative limitation of microbes by soil organic carbon(SOC),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)is linked with soil microbial activities,so how change of plant species diversity(PSD)affects microbial resource limitation would partly determine its impacts on SOC dynamics and nutrient ***,the responses of microbial resource limitation to increasing PSD have poorly ***,45 plots covering a natural PSD gradient were used to investigate the effects of PSD on microbial resource limitation in a subtropical *** enzymatic stoichiometry along with a laboratory N and P addition experiment were used to determine microbial resource *** of microbial biomass C,N and P significantly increased,but C:P and N:P ratios in microbial biomass were unchanged as PSD *** microbes were generally co-limited by C and P,but not by N across the 45 *** PSD did not alter microbial N limitation,alleviated microbial C limitation and aggravated microbial P *** alleviated microbial C limitation or aggravated microbial P limitation was attributed to increased soil C availability but decreased P availability,which resulted in stimulated soil C:P and N:P ratios and in turn greater C:P and N:P imbalance between soil and microbial biomass under higher *** results highlight the divergent effects of increasing PSD on microbial resource *** that microbial C and P limitations are widespread,the patterns observed in the current study should be applicable broadly.

Information on the physicochemical properties of chemical species is an important prerequisite when performing tasks such as process design and product ***,the lack of extensive data and high experimental costs hinder the development of prediction techniques for these ***,accuracy and predictive capabilities still limit the scope and applicability of most property estimation *** paper proposes a new Gaussian process-based modeling framework that aims to manage a discrete and high-dimensional input space related to molecular structure representation with the group-contribution approach.A warping function is used to map discrete input into a continuous domain in order to adjust the correlation between different *** selection techniques,including prior elicitation and prior predictive checking,are also applied during the building procedure to provide the model with more information from previous research *** framework is assessed using datasets of varying sizes for 20 pure component *** 18 out of the 20 pure component properties,the new models are found to give improved accuracy and predictive power in comparison with other published models,with and without machine learning.
