A robust and automatic method for the recognition of speech category in online learning discourse

It is a rapid and irresistible developing trend that the traditional classroom learning mode is transformed into an online learning mode. In the online learning process, it is important to achieve effective voice separation and provide a good lecture experience for students. In this paper, a robust and automatic method for the recognition of speech categories (teacher speech, student speech, silence speech and overlapping speech) is presented. The system, which is part of artificial intelligence in education (AIED), is a hybrid speech processing system that includes GMM modeling, GMM clustering, silence processing and overlapping processing. The online learning environment we are based on is not a customized environment that defines the roles of teachers or students, but a more casual, broader and more general online environment. The method proposed and designed based on this situation has better adaptability and scalability. The experimental results show that our automatic detection of speech categories fares well when compared to the results from professional coders. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

EVADE: Targeted Adversarial False Data Injection Attacks for State Estimation in Smart Grid

Although conventional false data injection attacks can circumvent the detection of bad data detection (BDD) in sustainable power grid cyber physical systems, they are easily detected by well-trained deep learning-based detectors. Still, state estimation models with deep leaning-based detectors are not secure due to the vulnerabilities and fragility of deep learning models. Using the related laws of conventional false data injection attacks and adversarial sample attacks, this paper proposes the targEted adVersarial fAlse Data injEction (EVADE) strategy to explore targeted adversarial false data injection attacks for state estimation in Smart Grid. The proposed EVADE attack strategy selects key state variables based on adversarial saliency maps to improve the attack efficiency and perturbs as few state variables as possible to reduce the attack cost. In this way, the EVADE attack strategy can bypass the detection of BDD and neural attack detection (NAD) methods (that is, maintaining deep stealthy) with a high success rate and achieve the attack target simultaneously. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, posing serious and pressing concerns for sustainable cyber physical power system security. © 2016 IEEE.

Lightweighting is one of the enabling techniques for energy saving and carbon reduction in the automotive industry. However, the life cycle performance of lightweight components remains unclear. Wheel hub is an important component, and its trend of replacing steel with aluminum is happening. Based on life cycle assessment and using ReCiPe model, this paper reports a cradle-to-grave study on the environmental impact of steel and aluminum wheel hub in passenger vehicles. Considering multi-scenario in the Chinese market, it is found that when the service life of passenger vehicle is less than 5.6 years, steel wheel hub is more environmental-friendly, and when the service life is less than 8.6 years, steel wheel hub also has more economic advantages. Combining different lightweight methods and different types of vehicles, it is found that structural optimization reduces the environmental impact of per unit weight mostly, process optimization reduces the life cycle environmental impact of wheel hub, and using lightweight steel wheel hub in electric vehicles has more potential in environmental benefits. some suggestions are, 1) to choose wheel hub that matches your actual usage to enjoy more environmental-economic advantages;2) to prioritize structural-process integrated optimization for lightweight wheel hub;and 3) to use more lightweight components in electric vehicles. © 2023 The Authors. In the electronic industry product quality control, PCB defect detection is a crucial part, which has the characteristics of small defect size and high similarity. The existing defect detection methods are still not good enough for detecting small target defects;therefore, the algorithm in this paper proposes an improved algorithm for PCB defect detection based on the RetinaNet model. The ResNet-D residual structure and efficient channel focus module are introduced in the model backbone network to enhance its feature extraction capability and achieve the purpose of improving the detection accuracy. At the same time, the method replaces the original multi-step learning decay strategy with a cosine annealing scheduling learning strategy, which optimizes the training process of the model. Finally, the performance of the method is verified on the publicly available PCB defect dataset from the Open laboratory of Intelligent Robotics, Peking University. The experimental results show that the algorithm improves the mAP value by 3.2% compared with the original algorithm, while the fastest detection speed reaches 36.9 FPS, which can effectively improve the defect detection performance of PCB. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The Wuling Mountains Area(WMA) is one of the important ecological protection areas in central China, known for its rich biodiversity and unique ecological environment. To effectively protect the species resources in this area and strengthen ecological monitoring and research, this paper proposes and designs the 'Wuling Mountains Region Characteristic Species Expert Database System.' By integrating expert resources, species data, ecological environment information, and modern information technologies, an intelligent system has been developed that combines data management, expert support, species identification, and research analysis. This paper discusses in detail the system's requirements analysis, design concept, implementation technologies, and potential applications, aiming to provide technological support for biodiversity conservation and sustainable ecological development in the region. © 2024 IEEE.

To solve the problem of boarding pass positioning with image tilt and sticking, we proposed a jointly boarding pass positioning and correction algorithm using multi-channel color components. First, a local threshold segmentation is performed on red and blue components in RGB color space to determine the general area of the boarding pass. Then, edge detection is performed on the blue component and pixel value standardization statistics on the three components to obtain partial edges and internal information of the boarding pass to refine the binary image. Next, the watershed algorithm is used to achieve precise positioning of the boarding pass. Finally, the segmentation and the boarding pass are completely rectified through perspective transformation. The results of segmentation and correction of boarding passes in actual scenarios show that the proposed algorithm can complete segmentation and correction under complex conditions such as boarding pass images sticking to each other, uneven illumination, and large-angle tilt. The average time spent on the test set is 0.049s, and the segmentation and correction success rate is 95.16 %. In the process of coal mine drilling,controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of *** this paper,a linear extended state observer(LESO)based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed,which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary ***,the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig’s rotary system is considered for the first time,which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque,and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is *** an LESO is designed to observe the load torque,and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam *** on the model of the compensated system,a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary ***,the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments,the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min,and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%.This greatly improves the stability and security,which is exactly what the drilling process requires.

Background:Diethylnitrosamine,one of food additives,possessed a strong carcinogenic effect in *** paridis saponins,as the main active components of Paris polyphylla,have a good anti-cancer effect in our previous *** verify their inhibitory effect on diethylnitrosamine-induced liver cancer,we carried out this ***:We established diethylnitrosamine-induced mouse hepatocarcinoma models to evaluate antitumor of Rhizoma paridis ***,gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was applied to analyze the metabolites in the urine and serum ***:Rhizoma paridis saponins alleviated diethylnitrosamine-induced *** the one hand,Rhizoma paridis saponins down-regulated the levels of liver function markers,such as alanine aminotransferase,aspartate transaminase and alpha *** the other hand,Rhizoma paridis saponins reduced metabolic disorders by increasing fructose and mannose metabolism,and decreasing pentose and glucuronate interconversion,inositol phosphate metabolism,and the process of saturated fatty acids transforming to unsaturated fatty acids,which based on the regulating mRNA expression of glucose transporter type 4,lactate dehydrogenase A,fatty acid synthetas,acetyl-CoA carboxylase and apolipoprotein ***:Rhizoma paridis saponins has the potential application to inhibit chemical-induced hepatocarcinogenesis in the future.
