Imaging momentum-space Cooper pair formation and its competition with the charge density wave gap in a kagome superconductor

The superconducting ground state of kagome metals AV_(3)Sb_(5)(where A stands for K,Rb,or Cs)emerges from an exotic charge density wave(CDW)state that potentially breaks both rotational and time reversal ***,the specifics of the Cooper pairing mechanism,and the nature of the interplay between these two states remain elusive,largely due to the lack of momentum-space(k-space)superconducting energy gap *** implementing Bogoliubov quasiparticle interference(B QPI)imaging,we obtain k-space information on the multiband superconducting gap structureΔ_(SC)^(i)(k)in pristine CsV_(3)Sb_(5).We show that the estimated energy gap on the vanadium d_(xy/x^(2)-y^(2))orbital is anisotropic but nodeless,with a minimal value located near the M ***,a comparison ofΔ_(SC)^(i)(k)with the CDW gapΔ_(CDW)^(i)(k)obtained by angle-re solved photoemission spectro scopy(ARPES)reveals direct k-space competition between the se two order parameters,i.e.,the opening of a large(small)CDW gap at a given momentum corresponds to a small(large)superconducting *** the long-range CDW order is suppressed by replacing vanadium with titanium,we find a nearly isotropic energy gap on both the V and Sb *** information will be critical for identifying the microscopic pairing mechanism and its interplay with intertwined electro nic orders in this kagome superconductor family.

Motion modeling and temporal modeling are crucial issues for video behavior recognition. When extracting motion information in two-stream network, the optical flow diagram needs to be calculated in advance and the end-to-end training cannot be realized. 3D CNNs can extract spatiotemporal information, but it requires huge computational resources. To solve these problems, we propose a plug-and-play motion capture and enhancement network (MCE) in this paper, which consists of a temporal motion capture module (TMC) and a multi-scale spatiotemporal enhancement module (MSTE). The TMC module calculates the temporal difference of the feature-level and captures the key motion information in the short temporal range. The MSTE module simulates long-range temporal information by equivalent enlarging the temporal sensitive field through multi-scale hierarchical sub-convolution architecture, and then further enhances the significant motion features by referring to the maxpooling branch. Finally, several experiments are carried out on the behavior recognition standard datasets of Something-Something-V1 and Jester, and the recognition accuracy rates are 49.6% and 96.9%, respectively. In this paper, the problem of direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation for the mixture of circular and non-circular signals is considered and a new sparse signal recovery (SSR) based method is proposed. The estimation process consists of two steps. First, the DOAs of non-circular signals are retrieved by formulating and solving a one-dimensional SSR optimization problem based on the elliptic covariance matrix of the array output. Then, with the steering vectors corresponding to the estimated non-circular signals, the DOAs of the remaining circular signals can be retrieved by similarly formulating and solving a one-dimensional SSR optimization problem based on the covariance matrix of the distinguished array output. Compared with the existing methods, the setting of the regularization parameter is not involved in the constructed SSR problems. Moreover, the computational complexity of our proposed method is considerably alleviated since the proposed method avoids the two-dimensional SSR structure required in previous work. The improved performance of the proposed method over the existing methods in terms of resolution capability and estimation accuracy is verified by simulation results. Particularly, the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method maintains robust estimation performance in challenging scenarios, such as few available snapshots or very low SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) levels. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2023.

Spectrum fragmentation-aware dynamic network slicing deployment in computing power networks based on elastic optical networks

The widespread application of AI with high computing requirements has driven the rapid development of the computing field. Computing Power Networks (CPNs) have been recognized as solutions to providing on-demand computing services, and its service provisioning can be modeled as a network slicing deployment problem. Elastic Optical Networks (EONs) offer the flexibility to allocate spectrum resources, making them well-suited for network slicing technology. Consequently, EON-based CPNs have attracted considerable attention. However, the unbalanced distribution of computing resources leads to inefficient computing resource utilization. Meanwhile, spectrum resources may be isolated and difficult for other services. This phenomenon is known as spectrum fragmentation, leading to inefficient spectrum resource utilization. To achieve balanced and efficient resource utilization, this paper first analyzes the main reasons for load unbalance and spectrum fragmentation in CPNs: mismatched slicing deployment and inappropriate resource scheduling. Therefore, a dynamic network slicing scheme based on traffic prediction (DNS-TP) is designed. Its core highlight is cooperative optimization slicing deployment and resource scheduling based on spectrum fragmentation awareness. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme enhances the network slicing acceptance ratio, computing and spectrum resource utilization while exhibiting strong performance in resource balancing. © 2024 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.

In this study, we introduce a novel application of transformer for document image unwarping, leveraging depth information and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) results. Our proposed model integrates two key modules: a depth module and an OCR module, into the transformer framework tailored for document image processing. The depth module predicts the relative depth of each pixel in the document image, thereby providing crucial spatial context for unwarping. Concurrently, the OCR module identifies regions suitable for OCR, acting as preferences for the unwarping process. This hybrid approach aims to mitigate text distortion inherent in document image unwarping, consequently enhancing OCR accuracy, although it may reduce our model’s capability in structural image unwarping. Experimental results showcase our model’s effectiveness, achieving a Character Error Rate (CER) of 24.81%, marking a significant 6.2% absolute enhancement compared to the baseline method, DocTr. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

To enhance noise protection for frontline workers in high-noise environments like stamping workshops, this paper proposes an SAS-FxLMS algorithm to address active noise control challenges in complex settings. The algorithm effectively overcomes the shortcomings of the classical FxLMS algorithm in terms of convergence speed and steady-state error by employing a scaled weight update and an exponentially varying step-size adjustment strategy. Experimental results demonstrate that the SAS-FxLMS algorithm achieves a significant noise reduction effect, particularly at a center frequency of 100Hz in the low-frequency range, reaching 46.72dB. This performance surpasses that of other algorithms, fully validating its effectiveness in practical noise control applications. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Research on metal-organic framework(MOF)-based non-enzymatic glucose sensors usually ignores the impact of the surface reconstruction degree of MOF on the activity of catalyzing glucose *** this work,we choose zeolitic imidazolate framework-67(ZIF-67),which is commonly used in glucose sensing,as a representative to investigate the influence of reconstruction degree on its structure and glucose catalytic *** employing the electrochemical activation strategy,the activity of ZIF-67 in catalyzing glucose gradually increased with the prolongation of the activation time,reaching the optimum after 2 h *** detection sensitivity of the activated ZIF-67 was 19 times higher than that of the initial ZIF-67,and the limit of detection(LOD)was lowered from 7 to 0.4μ*** findings demonstrate that the oxidation degree of ZIF-67 deepened rapidly with continuously activation and was basically reconstructed to CoOOH after 2 h activation,accompanied by a morphological change from cuboctahedral to ***,theoretical investigation revealed that ZIF-67 is not suitable as a stable glucose sensor electrode since the adsorbed glucose molecules hasten the dissociation of ligands and the breaking of Co-N bond in ***,our work has important implications for the rational design of next-generation MOF-based glucose sensors.
