Efficient fusion on LiDAR-camera data for 3D object detection is a challenging task. Although RGB image provides sufficient texture and semantic features, some of them are unrelated to the targeted objects, which are useless and even misleading for detection task. In this paper, point semantic saliency (PSS) is proposed for precise fusion. In this scheme, physical receptive field (PRF) constraint is built to establish the relation of 2D and 3D receptive fields from camera projection model. To increase the saliency of the pixel from targeted object, we propose PSS to extract salient point feature with the guidance of RGB and semantic segmentation images, which provides 2D supplementary information for 3D detection. Comparison results and ablation studies demonstrate that PSS improves the detection performance in both localization and classification. Among the current single stage detectors, our method improves APs by 0.62 % for hard level and mAP by 0.31 %. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

It is challenging to precisely segment the liver from surrounding organs in medical images because of the poor contrast between them. A method of semantic segmentation of 3D liver images based on multi-path features attention mechanism is proposed to address this issue. It integrates three-dimensional spatial information and feature information from several paths in the model to automatically segment the liver area. The model in this paper uses the LiTS dataset for training, testing, and ablation experiments, and compares the results with previous models. The experimental results demonstrate that the model in this paper has reached 0.965 in the DICE similarity coefficient, and has also improved in evaluation indicators such as volume overlap error (VOE) and root mean square symmetric surface distance (RMSD). It also has better segmentation performance when tested on the CHAOS dataset. Cross-validation was carried out on the clinical MRI dataset of a hospital, and the DICE similarity coefficient reached 0.971. The results show that the model has good performance on the multi-modal datasets of CT and MRI. © 2023 IEEE.

Multiple independent spanning trees have applications to fault tolerance and data broadcasting in distributed networks. There is a conjecture on independent spanning trees: any n-connected graph has n independent spanning trees rooted at an arbitrary vertex. The conjecture has been confirmed only for n-connected graphs with n ≤ 4, and it is still open for arbitrary n-connected graphs when n ≥ 5. In this paper, we provide a construction algorithm to find n independent spanning trees for the n-dimensional twisted-cube TN n, where N denotes the number of vertices in TNn. And for n ≥ 3, the height of each independent spanning tree on TNn is n+1. © 2011 IEEE.

Drug molecules interact with target proteins to influence the pharmacological action of the target to achieve the phenotypic effect, which can facilitate the identification of novel targets for current drug. Traditional biological experiments for discovering new drug-target interactions are expensive and time-consuming. Therefore, it is crucial to develop new prediction methods for identifying potential drug-target interactions. Computing methods have been increasing developed which can quickly and effectively predict drug-target interactions. In particular, machine learning methods have been widely used due to high predictive performance and computational efficiency. This paper first uses MACCS substructure fingerings to encode the drug molecules, then uses CNNs to extract the biological evolutionary information of target protein sequences, and finally uses random forest algorithm to predict drug-target interactions. Four datasets of drug-target interactions including Enzymes, Ion Channels, GPCRs and Nuclear Receptors, are independently used for building models with random forest. The results demonstrate our proposed method has a general compatibility, which is effective and feasible to predict drug-target interactions. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Accurately predicting splice sites in DNA sequences is not only of utmost importance in the study of gene expression and protein synthesis, but also crucial to precisely understanding the pathogenesis of various diseases related to splicing. In the past few decades, several tools for identifying splice sites have been developed, however, many of them ignore the contextual influence in DNA sequences in the process of encoding, consequently leading to considerable false positives in prediction. Additionally, most methods solely investigate canonical splicing whereas pay little attention to non-canonical ones. To address the issues mentioned above, we propose a comprehensive method, SpliceCannon, for accurately predicting both canonical and non-canonical splice sites based on neural networks. This method uses the combination of k-nucleotide frequencies and Doc2vec to encode the sequence, then employs a series of comprehensive neural networks such as bidirectional long short-term memory networks and residual networks to effectively extract features from the original sequence while avoiding the problems such as gradient vanishing. The results demonstrate that our method consistently achieves high accuracy when tested on multiple species. Compared to other recent methods, our model exhibits superior performance, stronger generalization ability, and wider applicability. In particular, The recognition accuracy is also remarkably high on the non-canonical dataset. We envision that this proposed method will serve as a promising tool for splice sites prediction to facilitate genomic research. © 2023 IEEE.

Bee Swarm Genetic Algorithm (BSGA), a new efficient algorithm is developed for designing DNA sequences that satisfy some combinatorial and thermodynamic constraints. In BSGA, the optimum individual of population selected as a queen bee and a random population is introduced to reinforce the exploitation of Genetic Algorithm (GA) and increase the diversity of population. Based on the algorithm, a computer simulation for DNA encoding is conducted and the sequences are better than the previous known systems that can prove the efficiency and convergence of our algorithm.

To benefit network transmission, the bit stream of the whole frame coded by H.264/AVC is usually grouped into one packet. However, the packet loss during transmission will lead to the distortion of the reconstructed video and the error propagation. To deal with this problem, error concealment (EC) strategy is widely used to recover the lost frames and to weaken the effect of error propagation. In this paper, we propose a new EC method which uses both the forward and backward motion information to recover the motion information of the current lost frame. Besides, for the pixels whose motion information is quite different compared with its neighboring pixels, we propose to use the spatial correlation to fill up the pixels by minimizing the total variation (TV) *** the help of our proposed algorithm, we can obtain the motion vectors of the lost frames and improve the accuracy of motion vectors derived by the unidirection recovery method. Besides, the optimization strategy, minimizing the TV-norm for the pixels with quite different motion vectors, can help the decoder to recover the reconstructed frames more accurately. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve both better objective performance and subjective performance compared to well-known schemes. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015.

The music recommender system can help us extract valuable music from a huge amount of raw information, due to the increasingly severe data sparsity and cold start problems in music recommendation system, the recommendation results will be inaccurate. But the traditional algorithm cannot effectively solve these problems;the existing improved algorithm still requires specific parameters in advance due to its poor stability. In this paper, a proposition for a cold start based on community detection algorithm is proposed. By projecting the bipartite network, calculating the similarity between the User and the Item, the Louvain algorithm is used to perform community detection on the projected One-mode network, so that the new record can be updated to the original community, and then the user group is recommended for music. With higher accuracy, solid stability, and shorter running time (when compared with other ease cold start algorithms), the algorithm in the larger community can be safely applied to the music recommendation system or prediction field. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

An algorithm is proposed to cancel the spatially non-stationary high-frequency (HF) interference in the returns of sky-wave over-the-horizon radar (OTHR). The algorithm could suppress the interference in side-lobe effectively based on spatial adaptive processing. Meanwhile, the algorithm preserves the temporal coherence of the clutter echoes using the zeroth Doppler channel output, of which the clutter-to-interference-plus-noise ratio is improved, to constraint the weight vectors.
