The belief propagation (BP) algorithm under the Bayesian framework can accelerate Compressed Sensing (CS) encoding and decoding by using the sparse encoder matrix. To improve the reconstruction performance we consider a backtracking-based belief propagation algorithm (CS-BBP) for the sparse signal reconstruction. The backtracking is added after performing BP and minimum mean square error (MMSE) estimate in every iteration. Simulation results show that the CS-BBP is a universal reconstruction algorithm which has a good performance for both 1-D Gaussian and 2-D image signal reconstructions.

Independent Component Analysis(ICA) was often used to separate movement related indepen-dent components(MRICs) from Electroencephalogram(EEG) data. However, to obtain robust spa-tial filters, complex characteristic features, which were manually selected in most cases, have been commonly used. This study proposed a new simple algorithm to extract MRICs automatically, which just utilized the spatial distribution pattern of ICs. The main goal of this study was to show the relationship between spatial filters performance and designing samples. The EEG data which contain mixed brain states(preparing, motor imagery and rest) were used to design spatial filters. Meanwhile, the single class data was also used to calculate spatial filters to assess whether the MRICs extracted on different class motor imagery spatial filters are similar. Furthermore, the spa-tial filters constructed on one subject's EEG data were applied to extract the others' MRICs. Finally, the different spatial filters were then applied to single-trial EEG to extract MRICs, and Support Vector Machine(SVM) classifiers were used to discriminate left hand、right-hand and foot imagery movements of BCI Competition IV Dataset 2a, which recorded four motor imagery data of nine subjects. The results suggested that any segment of finite motor imagery EEG samples could be used to design ICA spatial filters, and the extracted MRICs are consistent if the position of elec-trodes are the same, which confirmed the robustness and practicality of ICA used in the motor imagery Brain Computer Interfaces(MI-BCI) systems.

Recently, support vector ranking has been adopted to address the challenging person re-identification problem. However, the ranking model based on ordinary global features cannot represent the significant variation of pose and viewpoint across camera views. Thus, a novel ranking method which fuses the dense invariant features is proposed in this paper to model the variation of images across camera views. By maximizing the margin and minimizing the error score for the fused features, an optimal space for ranking has been learned. Due to the invariance of the dense invariant features and the fusion of the bidirectional features, the proposed method significantly outperforms the original support vector ranking algorithm and is competitive with state-of-the-art techniques on two challenging datasets, showing its potential for real-world person re-identification.

Herein,a new identity recognition method of multi-haptic pressure feature based on sparse representation was *** to the common dynamic features,the regional feature and the ratio of length *** of external bounding rectangle(extracted by using the least area method) were *** subset of dynamic feature was optimized by correlation criterion,the sparse representation of haptic pressure was obtained according to the sparse basis(i.e.,wavelet basis),and the sparse feature vector was calculated by the Topelitz measurement *** that,the haptic pressure feature set was created by combining dynamic feature subset and sparse feature subset ***,Support Vector Machine(SVM) classifier identified more than two objects following the one to many rule and output the identification result according to the rule of majority voting,and the stability of features is studied by calculating the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) and coefficient of variation(C.V).Overall,the improved acuracy of identity recognition demonstrating the effectiveness and stability of the multihaptic pressure feature.

We present a Gaussian processes regression for tensor-valued inputs, which is based on a coherent treatment of a prior for the latent function with a covariance function defined on a tensor representation of multivariate data. Such a rigorous account of the underlying data dependencies within the model is also the basis for a new and powerful framework for structural data analysis. This is achieved under the assumption of generative models, and by introducing a family of probabilistic kernels with tensor arguments. By equipping these product kernels with the Jensen-Shannon divergence measure for tensorial data, the proposed model can be considered as both a generative and discriminative model. Further, a fully Bayesian treatment is used to estimate the hyperparameters and infer the predictive distributions. Experimental results on a real world application of decoding 3D movement trajectory based on electrocorticography (ECoG) signals recorded from a monkey brain demonstrate the effectiveness and performance advantage of the proposed framework. © 2015, UK Simulation Society. Color analysis of iron surface structure fabricated by circularly polarized femtosecond laser

A method to induce multi-colors on an iron surface by using Circularly Polarized Femtosecond Laser (CPFL) processing was proposed. The subwavelength ripples were fabricated by CPFL scanning over the iron surface where covered by randomly distributed nanoparticles with diameters from 50 nm to 190 nm. A while light was used to irradiate the treated iron surface, and the relation between surface colors and incident angles was explored. By changing the incident angles of a white light from 0° to 80°, diverse colors were displayed on the laser-treated iron surface. In order to understand the underlying mechanism of the experimental results, a model of spherical nanoparticles spread randomly on ripples of the iron surface was built by Finite-difference Time Domain (FDTD). The experiments show that the surface reflection spectrum is varied from blue to red by increasing the incident angle of white light, which is consistent with the experimental results. Furthermore, it is found that the reflection spectrum shifts towards blue and the peak increases by decreasing the sizes of nanoparticles. This work may find potential applications in the fields of information storage, identifying codes and anti-counterfeiting patterns. © 2015, Chinese Academy of Sciences. All right reserved.

As the progressive effects of global warming, the yield loss caused by diseases and pests are increasing in winter wheat. It is necessary to distinguish different diseases for guiding variable rate spraying in wheat. Nevertheless, it is very difficult to quantitatively identify different diseases and fertilizer-water stress by specific sensitive bands selected from multi spectral data over a large area. Conversely, hyper spectral data contain more information, and provide the potential for quantitative identification of different stresses. This study focused on identification and distinction of yellow rust, powdery mildew and fertilizer-water stress by canopy spectral reflectance. Fifteen commonly used vegetation indices were selected, and independent t-test was done to get sensitivity index for each stress. Finally, a combination index was optimally selected to distinguish the three stresses. The results showed that the integrative index (NDVI-PhRI) combining normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and physiological reflectance index (PhRI) could be used to identify powdery mildew and yellow rust (PM-YR). A 2-dimensional spatial coordinate was established based on the NDVI and PhRI derived from hyper spectral data, then the different stress data were displayed in the spatial coordinate and the classification boundary could be used to identify the powdery mildew and yellow rust stress. Similarly, yellow rust and fertilizer-water stress (YR-n0w0) can be distinguished by the combination index (MSR-PhRI) derived from modified simple ratio (MSR) and physiological reflectance index (PhRI);and the combination index (NRI-RVSI) derived from nitrogen reflectance index (NRI) and red-edge vegetation stress index (RVSI) was accurate to identify powdery mildew and fertilizer-water stress (PM-n0w0). For the PM-YR, YR-n0w0 and PM-n0w0 models, their verification accuracies were 83.3%, 88%, 88.75%, and the kappa accuracies were 63.41%, 74.79%, 71.43%, respectively. It indicate

With the increasingly rapid developments in e-commerce, schemes for digital gift certificates have become prevalent electronic payment systems due to their practicality and simplicity. In 2002, Chan and Chang introduced the concept of digital gift certificates and proposed the first scheme associated with them. Recently, Chang and Chang (2005) proposed a more practical scheme, called DGC-US (digital gift certificates with unconstrained spending), which can reduce the computational cost of all entities involved in Chan and Chang‘s scheme, especially the computational cost of the electronic department store. However, the asymmetric encryption/decryption operations required in the DGC-US scheme still waste a significant amount of time. In this paper, we propose a novel authentication scheme for digital gift certificates based on Chebyshev chaotic maps and the blind signature. Our proposed scheme can satisfy the essential security requirements and withstand various well-known attacks. Our analyses have shown that our proposed scheme maintains all of the merits of the DGC-US scheme but is more efficient in terms of computational cost. © 2015, Ubiquitous International. Database security prevents the disclosure of confidential data within a database to unauthorized users, and has become an urgent challenge for a tremendous number of database applications. Data encryption is a widely-used cryptographic technique for realizing database security in which the data kept in the database are encrypted into ciphertext. Inspired by Lin et al.’s database encryption system, we propose a record-oriented database encryption scheme based on the Generalized Aryabhata Remainder Theorem (GART). Analysis showed that our proposed scheme is more efficient than Lin et al.’s scheme, while retaining the same security. ©2014.
