Tranditionally the medical monitoring used in hospital brought a lot inconvenience because of the complex wires between patients and equipments. In order to solve these problems, a human health wireless monitoring system based on Zigbee wireless communications is proposed. The system proposes multiple wireless physiological sensors to form a expandable wireless sensor network system architecture. Then the structure of the system used in wireless sensor nodes is introduced and the purpose is to collect the patients' physiological information, such as pulse, temperature, basically realize remote medical monitoring for patients. This system can not only realize accurate measurement of indicators, but also save the patients' travel between home and the hospital. ©2009 IEEE.

This paper introduces an improved BCI system based on alpha rhythm, the main composition units of the system are electrodes, acquisition circuit, online detecting algorithm and outer devices. For improving the performance of BCT systems, a new algorithms for alpha wave detection is proposed, which can reduce EEG baseline wandering and energy fluctuation efficiently and make the BCI system work more stable. Based on the BCI system, experiments of media player control are carried out among different subjects, which show that the system has an excellent performance in alpha wave detection and real-time controlling. ©2009 IEEE.

A Spectrum Based Algorithm for Image Classification

In this paper, a novel algorithm for image classification is presented which uses the projective value of adjacency spectrum as classified samples. Firstly, the eigenvalues of adjacency matrices constructed on the feature point-sets of images are obtained by singular value decomposition. Secondly, the eigenvalues are projected onto the eigenspace by means of the covariance matrix. Finally, image classification is performed by adopting RBF and PNN neural networks as classifiers respectively. Meanwhile, some theoretical analyses are given to support the proposed method.

Nonlinear dynamics in Internet congestion control model with TCP Westwood under RED

This article develops a discrete time dynamic feedback model of a congestion control system for a simple network with TCP Westwood （TCPW） connections and a single bottleneck link with random early detection （RED） gateway. By using this model, the nonlinear dynamics of the TCPW/RED network are analyzed and its parameter sensitivities are studied. It is shown that periodic doubling bifurcation occurs when the RED control parameters or other parameters are varied. By theoretical analysis, the fixed point, the critical value of parameters and the nature of the bifurcation are determined. Moreover, by using bifurcation diagrams and Lyapunov exponent, the result of theoretical analysis is validated and the bifurcation and chaotic phenomena are numerically studied of the congestion control system with TCPW connections and RED gateway.

Then defines a knowledge space and presents it by a group of basis. Besides we introduce granule spaces and their main properties.

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images are inherently affected by multiplicative speckle noise, which is due to the coherent nature of scattering phenomena. This paper presents a despeckling method for SAR images based on adaptive bandelets thresholding. This threshold is derived in a Bayesian framework. The proposed threshold is simple and closed form, and it is applied to adaptive bandelets coefficients to achieve more satisfying results. The performances of adaptive bandelets Bayesshrink soft-thresholding and wavelet thresholding for despeckling SAR images are compared through an experiment. Experiment results clearly demonstrated the capability of the proposed scheme in SAR image speckle reduction especially for SAR images possessing detailed textures. ©2009 IEEE.

Bio-based human computer interface (HCI) has attracted more and more attention of researches all over the world in recent years. In this paper, a HCI system which based on electrooculogram (EOG) is proposed. It transforms electrical po-tentials recorded by horizontal and vertical EOG into a computer in order to control external equipment. The system consists of EOG acqui-sition unit, EOG pattern recognition part and control command output unit. Three plane elec-trodes are employed to detect EOG signals, which contain the information related to the eye blinking and vertical (or horizontal) eye move-ments referred to pre-designed command table. An online signal processing algorithm is de-signed to get the command information con-tained in EOG signals, and these commands could be used to control the computer or other instruments. Based on this HCI system, the remote control experiments driven by EOG are realized.

The amount of blur on the defocus image depends on the depth information of the scene. So depth of the scene can be estimated by calculating the blur with the knowledge of the lens parameters. A novel depth estimation mode based on oriented heat-flows is proposed in this paper. In this model, the process of image defocusing is described using oriented heat-flows diffusion. The diffusion can be seen as the coupling of two weighted heat flows along orthonormal directions. The diffusion directions are defined by the local coherence geometry of image and the diffusion strength is the function of blur amount. Experimental results show that the model is quite effective and the emergence of artificial depth information in edge can be avoided by using this model.

The spectrum of a graph has been widely used to characterize the properties of a graph and extract information from its structure. In this paper, we investigate the performance of Laplacian spectrum and multidimensional scaling (MDS) as shape recognition and clustering. Firstly, we extract boundary points to characterize the shape and to construct the Laplacian matrix. Secondly, the structural information about graph is described by using the eigenvalues of the Laplacian matrix. Finally, the given shapes are projected onto the low-dimensional space by performing MDS. Meanwhile, the clustering is achieved via analyzing the distribution of shapes. Comparative experiments on the public data sets demonstrate the validation of the proposed algorithm.

A multiuser detector based on Schur algorithm is studied in this paper. Because the computational complexity of the conventional decorrelating detector is high while computing the inverse of system matrices, especially when the system is asynchronous and the number of users is huge. The simulation results show that the performance of the multiuser detector based on Schur algorithm is similar to that of decorrelating detector, but it's computational complexity is much lower than decorrelating detector's.
