In this paper, a broadband circular polarized (CP) composite spiral antenna using two-layer artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) is designed. The broadband circularly polarized radiation of the antenna in free space is realized by combining Archimedes spiral and equiangular spiral. At the same time, a new two-layer AMC structure is designed to improve the degradation of axial ratio and bandwidth caused by unidirectional antenna radiation in some frequency bands. The two-layer AMC is designed to operate with 90° reflection-phase bandwidth of 4.3-6 GHz (33%). Three different reflector surfaces: perfect electric conductor (PEC), traditional single-layer AMC surface and two-layer AMC surface are used and compared. The axial ratio performance of the antenna loaded with two-layer AMC is significantly better than that of the traditional AMC in the band of 5-6.5 GHz. The axial ratio and bandwidth was further improved by removing the central patch on the two-layer AMC surface and adding a high dielectric substrate underneath. A novel compact dual-wideband bandpass filter is proposed in this paper, by employing stub loaded ring-shape Uniform Impedance Resonator (UIR) and embed-inside T-shape resonator which contributes to reducing circuit size. Odd-even mode method can be used to analyze the resonance characteristic, since the structure is symmetrical. The stub-load UIR can produce two resonant frequencies of f odd1 and f even1 , and the T-shape resonator can also introduce two resonant frequencies of f odd2 and f even2 . By adjusting the position of odd-even mode resonant frequencies and the coupling degree between UIR and T-shape resonator, two wide passbands can be realized. In design, a pair of zero-degree feed coupling structure is utilized to generate two transmission zeroes at the lower and upper of the first passband, improving the frequency selectivity of the first. The 3 dB frequency bands range of the first passband and the second are 2.5 GHz-3.3 GHz and 5.1 GHz-6.2 GHz, and the fractional bandwidths are 29% and 19%, corresponding to center frequencies at 2.8 GHz, 5.8 GHz, respectively. Comparing with the previous works, the proposed dual-wideband bandpass filter has a compactness of 12 × 10.45 mm 2 and has lower insertion loss of 0.1 dB and 0.12 dB, corresponding to the first and the second pass-band.

In order to eliminate the calculation error which is generated by the field point selection of finite-difference time-domain method on the interface of medium, this paper introduces a virtual field which is then unfolded by Taylor series, and gives the iterative formula of the nonstandard finite-difference time-domain method (NS-FDTD). The non-standard finite-difference time-domain method (NS-FDTD) is used to simulate plane wave irradiating vertically the novel sub-wavelength metal grating resonator, effects of the thickness of metal layer and the relative dielectric constant to extraordinary transmission characteristic are studied, and the extraordinary transmission mechanism is analyzed using the theory of Fabry-Perot cavity. A novel structure with extraordinary transmission characteristic is designed, and the extraordinary transmission characteristic in 450-900 THz band has also been studied using the method of NS-FDTD, the effect caused by some parameters such as thickness of metal layer, relative dielectric constant of dielectric layer has been given. The results show: as the thickness of the metal layer decreases, the factor of extraordinary transmission increases and moves towards high frequency, what's more, the factor moves towards low frequency as the relative dielectric constant of dielectric layer increases. This study provides a theoretical basis for further research on metal film and its extraordinary transmission mechanism.

New Framework for Code-Mapping-based Reversible Data Hiding in JPEG Images

Code mapping (CM) is an efficient technique for reversible data hiding (RDH) in JPEG images, which embeds data by constructing a mapping relationship between the used and unused codes in the JPEG bitstream. This study presents a new framework for designing a CM-based RDH method. First, a new code mapping strategy is proposed to suppress file size expansion and improve applicability. Based on our proposed strategy, the mapped codes are redefined by creating a new Huffman table rather than selecting them from the unused codes in the original Huffman table. The critical issue of designing the CM-based RDH method, that is, constructing code mapping, is converted into a combinatorial optimization problem. This study proposes a novel CM-based RDH method that utilizes a genetic algorithm (GA). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a high embedding capacity with no signal distortion while suppressing file size expansion. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Polar codes with memory (PCM) are proposed in this paper: a pair of consecutive code blocks containing a controlled number of mutual information bits. The shared mutual information bits of the succeeded block can help the failed block to recover. The underlying polar codes can employ any decoding scheme such as the successive cancellation (SC) decoding (PCM-SC), the belief propagation (BP) decoding (PCM-BP), and the successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding (PCM-SCL). The analysis shows that the packet error rate (PER) of PCM decreases to the order of PER squared while maintaining the same complexity as the underlying polar codes. Simulation results indicate that for PCM-SC, the PER is comparable to (less than 0.3 dB) the stand-alone SCL decoding with two lists for the block length N = 256. The PER of PCM-SCL with L lists can match that of the stand-alone SCL decoding with 2L lists. Two hardware decoders for PCM are also implemented: the in-serial (IS) decoder and the low-latency interleaved (LLI) decoder. For N = 256, synthesis results show that in the worst case, the latency of the PCM LLI decoder is only 16.1% of the adaptive SCL decoder with L = 2, while the throughput is improved by 13 times compared to it. The technology of personalized recommendation is aimed at studying the behaviors of users, analyzing what they may be interested in and recommending suitable items to them. In other words, the personalized recommendation is to better solve the contradiction between the requirements of users and the explosive information on the Internet. The user-based collaborative filtering recommendation is one of the most successful technology for recommendation system. The most significant step of user-based collaborative filtering recommendation is comprehensive user similarity calculation. However, most recommendation systems ignore the indispensability of trust mechanism of the users and the time weighted users rating attributes in user similarity calculation, which leads to the inaccurate recommendation. Based on these issues, this paper proposes an optimized user-based collaborative filtering recommendation system called UR. UR not only validates the necessity of the trust mechanism of the users and the time weighted users rating in the comprehensive user similarity calculation, but also improves the recommendation accuracy.

The study of electromagnetic scattering from Gaussian rough surface is of great significance in radar reconnaissance, target tracking and ocean remote sensing. The moment method (MOM) is a commonly used method with high accuracy. However, in the past research, Monte Carlo method is used to simulate the Gaussian rough surface. In this method, a large number of random simulation operations are carried out, and then a statistical convergence result is obtained by counting the results of all operations. In this paper, the stochastic integral equation method SIEM(Stochastic Integral Equation Method) is proposed to calculate the electromagnetic scattering of Gaussian rough surface. SIEM avoids the difficulty of high difficulty precise modeling and repeated calculation many times, and only single modeling and calculation are carried out for the target problem. In this paper, the electromagnetic scattering of two-dimensional cylinder with Gaussian rough surface is solved, and the effectiveness of SIEM is proved by comparing with mom.

A brain-computer interface (BCI) enables a user to communicate with a computer directly using brain signals. The most common non-invasive BCI modality, electroencephalogram (EEG), is sensitive to noise/artifact and suffers between-subject/within-subject non-stationarity. Therefore, it is difficult to build a generic pattern recognition model in an EEG-based BCI system that is optimal for different subjects, during different sessions, for different devices and tasks. Usually, a calibration session is needed to collect some training data for a new subject, which is time-consuming and user unfriendly. Transfer learning (TL), which utilizes data or knowledge from similar or relevant subjects/sessions/devices/tasks to facilitate learning for a new subject/session/device/task, is frequently used to reduce the amount of calibration effort. This paper reviews journal publications on TL approaches in EEG-based BCIs in the last few years, i.e., since 2016. Six paradigms and applications - motor imagery, event-related potentials, steady-state visual evoked potentials, affective BCIs, regression problems, and adversarial attacks - are considered. For each paradigm/application, we group the TL approaches into cross-subject/session, cross-device, and cross-task settings and review them separately. Observations and conclusions are made at the end of the paper, which may point to future research directions. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The task of RGBT tracking aims to take the complementary advantages from visible spectrum and thermal infrared data to achieve robust visual tracking, and receives more and more attention in recent years. Existing works focus on modality-specific information integration by introducing modality weights to achieve adaptive fusion or learning robust feature representations of different modalities. Although these methods could effectively deploy the modality-specific properties, they ignore the potential values of modality-shared cues as well as instance-aware information, which are crucial for effective fusion of different modalities in RGBT tracking. In this paper, we propose a novel Multi-Adapter convolutional Network (MANet) to jointly perform modality-shared, modality-specific and instance-aware feature learning in an end-to-end trained deep framework for RGBT tracking. We design three kinds of adapters within our network. In a specific, the generality adapter is to extract shared object representations, the modality adapter aims at encoding modality-specific information to deploy their complementary advantages, and the instance adapter is to model the appearance properties and temporal variations of a certain object. Moreover, to reduce computational complexity for real-time demand of visual tracking, we design a parallel structure of generic adapter and modality adapter. Extensive experiments on two RGBT tracking benchmark datasets demonstrate the outstanding performance of the proposed tracker against other state-of-the-art RGB and RGBT tracking algorithms.
