Multi-task regression learning for survival analysis via prior information guided transductive matrix completion

Survival analysis aims to predict the occurrence time of a particular event of interest,which is crucial for the prognosis analysis of ***,due to the limited study period and potential losing tracks,the observed data inevitably involve some censored instances,and thus brings a unique challenge that distinguishes from the general regression *** addition,survival analysis also suffers from other inherent challenges such as the high-dimension and small-sample-size *** address these challenges,we propose a novel multi-task regression learning model,i.e.,prior information guided transductive matrix completion(PigTMC)model,to predict the survival status of the new ***,we use the multi-label transductive matrix completion framework to leverage the censored instances together with the uncensored instances as the training samples,and simultaneously employ the multi-task transductive feature selection scheme to alleviate the overfitting issue caused by high-dimension and small-sample-size *** addition,we employ the prior temporal stability of the survival statuses at adjacent time intervals to guide survival ***,we design an optimization algorithm with guaranteed convergence to solve the proposed PigTMC ***,the extensive experiments performed on the real microarray gene expression datasets demonstrate that our proposed model outperforms the previously widely used competing methods.

Camera-equipped underwater vehicle-manipulator systems (UVMS) can achieve autonomous underwater operations through visual servoing. However, current methods excessively rely on auxiliary means for target's visual information and do not sufficiently consider the target's pose when designing visual servoing schemes. As a result, UVMS can only perform dynamic positioning or grasp simple-shaped targets like sea urchins. In this article, we are devoted to making the UVMS autonomously complete more complex underwater operations, such as valve switching and pipe handling. First, an underwater target perception system is proposed to address the issue of discontinuous target position estimation caused by various interferences. Second, a deep neural network-based grasping mechanism controller is proposed to enable the manipulator to grasp targets in various initial poses using the target image. Third, a decoupled visual servoing scheme is proposed for the motion control of the UVMS, and in collaboration with a designed task supervisor to ensure that the UVMS can complete the underwater operation autonomously. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods, underwater experiments are conducted based on a UVMS prototype. The UVMS succeeds to autonomously switch different types of valves and handle the pipe. Experiments conducted under dynamic currents validated the reliability and robustness of the proposed methods. © 1996-2012 IEEE.

Short-Term Residential Load Forecasting via Pooling-Ensemble Model with Smoothing Clustering

Short-term residential load forecasting is essential to demand side response. However, the frequent spikes in the load and the volatile daily load patterns make it difficult to accurately forecast the load. To deal with these problems, this article proposes a smoothing clustering method for daily load clustering and a pooling-ensemble model for one day ahead load forecasting. The whole short-term load forecasting framework in this article contains three steps. Specifically and first, the states of the residents are obtained by clustering the daily load curves with the proposed smoothing clustering method. Second, a weighted mixed Markov model is built to predict the probability distribution of the load state in the next day. Third, multiple predictors in the pooling-ensemble model are selected for different states and the load is forecasted by weighing the results of the multiple predictors based on the predicted states. Results of the case studies and comparison studies on two public datasets verify the advantages of the smoothing clustering method and the pooling-ensemble model. © 2020 IEEE.

Ultrasound is an inexpensive and widely used imaging modality for the diagnosis and staging of many *** the past several decades, it has benefited from major advances in technology and has become an indispensable imaging modality, due to its flexibility and non-invasive character. In the last decade, research investigators and commercial companieshave further advanced ultrasound imaging with the development of 3D ultrasound. Compared with two dimensional ultrasound imaging, it can provide a 3D image of the anatomy directly and localize the image plane much easier. This review focuses on three dimensional ultrasonic medical imaging patents filed in recent years between 2006 and 2010. The patents are classified into three classes: the hardware, software and applications. This paper will attempt to provide an appreciation of the recent advances in 3D ultrasound imaging research while glimpse the future development trend of 3D ultrasound imaging. © 2011 Bentham Science Publishers Ltd.

In order to avoid stair casing and preserve small scale texture information for the classical total variation regularization, a new minimization energy functional model for image decomposition is proposed. We firstly introduce a generalized total variational regularization. The oscillatory component containing texture and/or noise is modeled in generalized function space. And then, the proposed model is numerically implemented by using a preconditioned Split Bregman method. Experiments show that the proposed model can avoid efficiently the staircasing effect, at the same time, both well remain edge and texture. © 2013 IEEE.

Dynamic Vertical Peer-to-Peer Carbon Right Sharing Management for Microgrid Clusters with Multiple Structural Demand Response

Carbon trading mechanisms can constrain carbon emissions in energy supply, while demand response (DR) mechanisms have the potential to achieve low-carbon oriented energy consumption. Based on these, this paper focuses on mechanism-driven deep decarbonization methods of microgrid clusters (MGCs) from both source and load sides, and the key contributions are threefold. First, a novel dynamic vertical peer-to-peer carbon trading framework is proposed with profitability and fairness, in which a dynamic internal carbon emission right (CER) pricing mechanism is designed based on the supply-demand ratio of CERs and trading prices of the external primary carbon market. Then, a multiple structural DR mechanism is developed to increase the on-site utilization of renewable energy and decrease carbon emissions of MGCs, which considers the influence of electricity prices, the matching degree between renewable energy and loads, and these psychological preferences of users. Moreover, a DR feedback correction strategy is proposed to address the volatility of DR results caused by changes in load elasticity. Numerical results show that the proposed method can reduce carbon emissions by more than 15% without increasing the economic burden, which validates the effectiveness in improving the economic and low-carbon performance of MGCs' operation. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

The traditional Mongolian script poses significant challenges for text rendering due to its vertical orientation, complex glyph variations, and context-dependent shapes, compounded by limited linguistic resources. This paper introduces the first method specifically designed to address the out-of-vocabulary (OOV) word problem in traditional Mongolian script conversion. We present a novel dataset and propose MonTransformer, the first Transformer-based model tailored for converting Unicode phonetic sequences into glyph sequences. MonTransformer utilizes dynamic optimization and contrastive learning to effectively manage OOV cases and improve sequence generation accuracy, transforming Unicode inputs into visually accurate glyph representations. Our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance, maintaining the script’s visual fidelity and advancing efforts in digital preservation for complex scripts.

3D multipath planning for UAV based on network graph

According to the characteristic and the requirement of multipath planning, a new multipath planning method is proposed based on network. This method includes two steps： the construction of network and multipath searching. The construction of network proceeds in three phases： the skeleton extraction of the configuration space, the judgment of the cross points in the skeleton and how to link the cross points to form a network. Multipath searching makes use of the network and iterative penalty method （IPM） to plan multi-paths, and adjusts the planar paths to satisfy the requirement of maneuverability of unmanned aerial vehicle （UAV）. In addition, a new height planning method is proposed to deal with the height planning of 3D route. The proposed algorithm can find multiple paths automatically according to distribution of terrain and threat areas with high efficiency. The height planning can make 3D route following the terrain. The simulation experiment illustrates the feasibility of the proposed method.
