This paper is centered on gridless direction of arrival (DoA) estimation for single-snapshot data collected by non-uniform linear arrays (NLAs) in the context of automotive applications. While recent single-snapshot DoA estimation algorithms rooted in grid-based compressed sensing (CS) offer super-resolution capabilities, they are notably sensitive to discrepancies between the assumed sparsity basis and the actual basis. Furthermore, the existing atomic soft thresholding (AST) algorithm, a promising gridless sparse recovery technique within the Toeplitz model, is constrained to uniform linear arrays (ULAs) exhibiting Vandermonde structure in their array manifolds. However, in automotive scenarios, it becomes imperative to efficiently apply gridless DoA estimation to NLAs featuring non-Vandermonde array manifolds. In this paper, we introduce the non-Vandermonde atomic soft thresholding (NVAST) algorithm and employ it for DoA estimation in NLAs. The novel algorithm establishes a link between Vandermonde and non-Vandermonde atoms by decomposing non-Vandermonde vectors and addressing them using semi-definite programming (SDP). Simulation and measurement experiments conducted with automotive radars underscore the remarkable performance of our proposed method. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2023.

In deep learning, supervised learning techniques usually require a large amount of expensive labeled data to train the network, and the feature representations extracted by the model usually mix multiple attributes, resulting in feature representations that are difficult to decouple and are non-interpretable, which restricts the application and development of deep learning techniques, and for this reason, it is particularly important to study decoupled feature representation methods for unsupervised learning. Although the Learning deep representations by mutual information estimation and maximization (DIM) method achieves excellent results in unsupervised learning, the feature representations learned by the DIM method still suffer from the problem of difficult decoupling. decoupling problem. To address this problem, we minimize the mutual information between the intermediate layer feature representations learned by the hidden layer of the encoder during the encoder training process, so that the features learned by each filter are as uncorrelated as possible, thus realizing feature decoupling, and our method is called FP-DIM. Finally, the effectiveness of the FP-DIM method is verified on the CIFAR-10, STL-10, and Fashion-MNIST datasets. The experiments show that our proposed FP-DIM method is more significant for the learned decouplable middle layer feature representation. Finally, we also propose a reflection of future research for the FP-DIM method, aiming to provide a research idea and direction for solving unsupervised interpretable machine learning and to lay a solid theoretical and application foundation for machine learning fields such as image classification and migration learning. © 2023 IEEE.

Sparse synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging allows for a reduction in the azimuth sampling rate based on compressive sensing theory. However, it relies on the sparsity of scenes, which can lead to significant azimuth ambiguity. To address this issue, we introduce a novel network designed to suppress azimuth ambiguity for sparse SAR imaging. Our proposed deep unfolded network is based on the Iterative Thresholding Algorithm Learned (LISTA). We replace the observation matrix with Matched Filter (MF) operators to reduce computational complexity. Experiments with real SAR scene data demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our approach in suppressing azimuth ambiguity. © VDE VERLAG GMBH ∙ Berlin ∙ Offenbach.

To address the problem that the classification and cleaning of garbage in city streets is always ineffective nowadays, the paper proposes a garbage detection method based on edge intelligence. The edge intelligence not only reduces the computational load of the cloud and speeds up the data transmission, but also greatly reduces the data transmission cost. First, images of city streets are collected and uploaded to the edge device via mobile devices in various locations in the city. Then, the edge server is used to temporarily store the image information, and the PeleeNet model deployed on it is used to identify and classify various kinds of garbage, and then visualize the information of each street. Finally, the street garbage information is transmitted to the cloud, which provides a detailed picture of the city’s garbage situation and facilitates city management. In this paper, the PeleeNet model is compared with ResNet, DenseNet and MobileNet models. The results show that the edge devices equipped with PeleeNet model not only have the fastest computation speed and the highest accuracy, but also occupy the least memory. Aiming at the problem of quality assurance of intelligent logistics service in 5G+ edge computing environment, this paper proposes a mechanism based on federated cooperative cache, which aims to utilize the computing and storage resources of edge nodes to realize rapid processing and sharing of logistics data and improve the efficiency and reliability of logistics services. This paper first analyzes the characteristics and challenges of intelligent logistics services under 5G+ edge computing environment, and then introduces the concept and principle of federated cooperative cache, as well as its application scenarios and advantages in intelligent logistics services. Then, this paper designs an intelligent logistics service quality assurance mechanism based on federated cooperative cache, including five modules such as data partitioning, data transmission, data fusion, data access and data update, and gives the corresponding algorithms and processes. Finally, this paper verifies the effectiveness and performance of the proposed mechanism through simulation experiments. Compared with the traditional centralized cache and distributed cache, the proposed mechanism can reduce the data transmission delay, improve the data hit rate and data consistency, so as to ensure the quality of intelligent logistics services. In the future, the federated collaborative cache mechanism can be further optimized to consider the needs of multiple scenarios. The metaverse originated from science fiction at first, but it gradually came into reality with the continuous power of technology. Aiming at the problems of course work in Chinese universities, such as its function is weakened or suppressed, its form is too abstract, and it lacks elaborate design, this paper proposes a design method of course work meta-universe based on extended reality under edge computing. XR technology is used to realize the interactive immersion of the coursework meta-universe, in order to improve students’ learning enthusiasm and ability to solve abstract problems. In recent years, gestures have been widely used in many fields. For example, human-computer interaction, virtual reality, gesture translation, etc. The reason for its rapid development is due to the emergence of deep learning and artificial intelligence under today’s society. Due to dynamic gestural interactions, such large intelligent models are often characterized by many parameters, large sample size, frequent parameter updates, and high communication volume. Based on this feature, we propose a cloud-based edge design architecture approach for gesture recognition based on an improved YOLOv5 network model optimization by changing different gestures, background interference, which uses a 21-layer model for the neural network. With the use of edge intelligence, the computational accuracy can be improved by 10.6% over the traditional YOLOv5 with a MAP value of 93.3%. The final recall rate is also improved by 3.6%. The parameter model is only 43.6% of the original one. This shows the practicality and operability of using edge computing as a technique in gesture recognition, as well as the small improvement cost and obvious effect. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

This paper introduces the Temporal Transform Network based on Scale Sequences (TTS) for cloth-changing person re-identification in video datasets. The TTS network is designed to capture multi-scale temporal cues within video sequences. It accomplishes this by initially modeling short-term temporal cues between adjacent frames, followed by capturing long-term relationships between non-consecutive frames. In more detail, short-term temporal cues are modeled through parallel inflated convolutions with different time dilation rates, enabling the representation of pedestrian movement and appearance dynamics. Long-term relationships are effectively captured using a temporal self-attention model, mitigating challenges such as occlusion and noise within the video sequence. The TTS network outperforms existing methods across cloth-changing video ReID datasets such as CCVID. For instance, under general settings, our approach exhibits a 1.1% improvement in top-1 accuracy and a corresponding 1.1% increase in mAP compared to the baseline. In cloth-changing settings, we observe a 0.2% enhancement in top-1 accuracy and a notable 1.3% increase in mAP relative to the baseline. © 2023 IEEE.

The refinement and intelligent control of shield tunneling is the development trend of modern tunnel construction technology. In order to better predict and control the surface subsidence caused by shield excavation, this paper takes the shield construction of Luoyang Metro Line 2 from Longmen Station to Longmen Avenue Station as the background, and proposes a method based on edge intelligence for shield construction in water-rich sand egg strata. Methods for predicting land subsidence. First, low latency and faster data processing are achieved by collecting a large amount of data containing dynamic information about geological conditions and surrounding environments during the shield tunneling process;then using the iFogSim simulator to create different configurations;second, establishing support A surface subsidence model based on vector regression was established, and the model was deployed on the edge equipment;finally, the model was evaluated using the monitoring data of surface subsidence of the water-rich sand egg formation in Luoyang area. The research results show that the edge computing-based system has lower latency and higher processing speed than only deploying cloud data centers. After Pearson-related parameter tuning and model comparison training with Linear as the kernel function, the mean square error of the predicted value and the collected value of the surface subsidence is better than the other two kernel functions. The method proposed in this paper can provide real-time prediction service for large-scale surface subsidence prediction caused by shield construction, and is more practical. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.
