A U-shaped-like parasitic strip loading antenna is proposed and designed, which can work in L1 band of GPS with circular polarization (CP) characteristics. The antenna consists of ground plane, dielectric, radiation patch and U-shaped-like parasitic strips using a simple coaxial feed probe. The asymmetric U-shaped-like strips are to realize CP. The simulation and optimization results for the modeled directional CP antenna show that the axial ratio bandwidth is 10MHz and the impedance bandwidth is 30MHz, which can meet the requirements for GPS L1 band. © 2022 IEEE.

Most of existing studies on neural network pruning only consider memory-based pruning strategies. However pruning for computational workload is often more important in hardware deployments due to a greater focus on model computation reductions. In addition, most pruning schemes restore model accuracy during pruning at the expense of adding hyperparameters, extending training time and training complexity. This work proposes a statistical-based globally soft iterative pruning scheme. With little extra calculation, an extremely sparse model can be obtained without additional hyperparameters and extended training time. Moreover, this work proposes the concept of computational intensity to balance model memory and computational workload during pruning. Focusing on memory orientated pruning, we can achieve $\mathbf{303}\times, \mathbf{100}\times$ and $\mathbf{25}\times$ parameter compression on LeNet-5 (MNIST), VGG (CIFAR-10) and AlexNet (ImageNet) models, respectively. In particular, combined with cluster quantization, the LeNet-5 model parameters can be compressed to $\mathbf{3232}\times$ . Focusing on workload orientated pruning, we can reduce the computation by $\mathbfcomputation.\mathbfcomputation\times$ on the AlexNet model, without accuracy loss, significantly higher than prior work. In addition, in order to verify the versatility of the pruning method, we also migrate the pruning task to the object detection and implement $\mathbf{10}\times$ parameter compression and $\mathbfcomputation.\mathbfcomputation\times$ computation compression for YOLOv2 with reduced mAP within 1%.

Evolutionary Neural Architecture Search for Transformer in Knowledge Tracing

Transformer has achieved excellent performance in the knowledge tracing (KT) task, but they are criticized for the manually selected input features for fusion and the defect of single global context modelling to directly capture students’ forgetting behavior in KT, when the related records are distant from the current record in terms of time. To address the issues, this paper first considers adding convolution operations to the Transformer to enhance its local context modelling ability used for students’ forgetting behavior, then proposes an evolutionary neural architecture search approach to automate the input feature selection and automatically determine where to apply which operation for achieving the balancing of the local/global context modelling. In the search space design, the original global path containing the attention module in Transformer is replaced with the sum of a global path and a local path that could contain different convolutions, and the selection of input features is also considered. To search the best architecture, we employ an effective evolutionary algorithm to explore the search space and also suggest a search space reduction strategy to accelerate the convergence of the algorithm. Experimental results on the two largest and most challenging education datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the architecture found by the proposed approach. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. A microstrip circular polarization (CP) patch antenna with a combination of unequal slots and arc-shaped protruding patches is proposed and designed, which can work for L2 band of GPS. The antenna is composed of ground plane, dielectric and radiation patch, where two unequal slots and arc-shaped protruding patches are loaded on the patch and placed along the diagonal. By adjusting the radius of arc-shape slots and protruding patches, Left-handed circular polarization (LHCP) is realized. Simulation and optimization results show that the CP antenna achieves axial ratio bandwidth of 10MHz and impedance bandwidth of 40MHz, providing a potential application for GPS. © 2022 IEEE.

A four-arm Archimedean spiral multi-mode OAM (Orbital Angular Momentum) antenna with bandwidth of 1.34GHz-9.53GHz is presented and analyzed. The bandwidth of traditional OAM antenna is dramatically improved by utilizing the self-complementarity between the arms of Archimede spiral. Comparing to the dual arm helical antenna, the vortex electromagnetic wave phase for the proposed scheme shows better continuity and purity, simultaneously more modes are realized. The reflector is arranged under the ground to make the antenna achieve unidirectional radiation characteristics and reduce backward radiation. The mode for l= 0, l= 1, l= 2 and mixed mode l= 1.2 are realized by controlling phase of the four different feed ports. Finally, the effects about the rotation radius for the Archimede spiral on the patterns with various arm width is investigated and discussed. The results are significant consistency with the design, and concurrently superb vortex characteristics are achieved in different modes. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper proposes a Da-shaped slotted antenna, where the Chinese culture is integrated into the antenna design to achieve an artistic antenna that can be used in 5G communication system. The designed antenna has circular polarization characteristic, which is composed of ground plane, dielectric layer and metal sheet A engraved with Da-shaped slot, and a U-shaped wall (metal sheet B). A simple L-shaped feed probe is used to improve the working bandwidth of the antenna. A U-shaped metal sheet B is considered to improve antenna gain and axial ratio bandwidth. The simulation and optimization results show that the axial ratio bandwidth is 2.30-2.71GHz, and the impedance bandwidth is 2.44-2.7GHz, both of which can cover operating frequency in the range of 2.515-2.675GHz of 5G. © 2022 IEEE.

Black⁃box adversarial attacks with imperceptible fake user profiles for recommender systems

Attackers inject the designed adversarial sample into the target recommendation system to achieve illegal goals,seriously affecting the security and reliability of the recommendation *** is difficult for attackers to obtain detailed knowledge of the target model in actual scenarios,so using gradient optimization to generate adversarial samples in the local surrogate model has become an effective black‐box attack ***,these methods suffer from gradients falling into local minima,limiting the transferability of the adversarial *** reduces the attack's effectiveness and often ignores the imperceptibility of the generated adversarial *** address these challenges,we propose a novel attack algorithm called PGMRS‐KL that combines pre‐gradient‐guided momentum gradient optimization strategy and fake user generation constrained by Kullback‐Leibler ***,the algorithm combines the accumulated gradient direction with the previous step's gradient direction to iteratively update the adversarial *** uses KL loss to minimize the distribution distance between fake and real user data,achieving high transferability and imperceptibility of the adversarial *** results demonstrate the superiority of our approach over state‐of‐the‐art gradient‐based attack algorithms in terms of attack transferability and the generation of imperceptible fake user data.

Based on the equivalent circuit model of PIN diode and the full wave simulation method of CST software, the system performance of finite large energy selective surface (ESS) is simulated and analyzed when the number of cells is small. The simulation results show that the working performance of ESS will be degraded by the slight surface deformation caused by external force but not fail completely. Therefore, in the practical application of ESS, attention should be paid to avoid deformation caused by external force extrusion, which will reduce the shielding performance of ESS. The simulation results provide reference value for the practical design and application of energy selective surface. © 2022 IEEE.

A single-layer, polarization adjustable circular-polarization (CP) antenna with four arc-like slots has been designed for GPS L2 band. The created antenna uses four arc-like slots to tune the phase difference to form a CP antenna, where the arc-like slots with a specific size relationship are etched on the patch. By adjusting the radius of the arc-like slots, Left-handed -circular-polarization (LHCP) and Right-handed-circular-polarization (RHCP) can be realized easily with simple structure. Simulations and optimizations show that the constructed CP-antenna has a good axial-ratio bandwidth of 10 MHz and impedance-bandwidth of 40 MHz and 30 MHz for LHCP and RHCP application.
