Unveiling High-speed Follow-up Consultation for Chronic Disease Treatment: A Pediatric Hospital Case in China

In developing countries suffering from a severe shortage of physicians, the follow-up clinical consultation of long-term chronic care becomes a high-speed collaborative work, which has to be conducted in a few minutes. Although much existing work studies how time factors affect physicians' workflows and requirements for information systems, high-speed chronic care is yet to be well investigated. This work bridges the gap by presenting a case of a pediatric hospital in China. We focus on the processes of follow-up consultations, the factors enabling physicians to complete consultation in several minutes, as well as the challenges faced by physicians and patients. Through observations and interviews, we find that physicians conduct multiple tasks (information acquisition, patient-provider communication, and medical data documentation) simultaneously to reduce the consultation duration. Adopting an information summary alternative is the key to fast information acquisition. Templates and references in EMR contribute to rapid documentation and prescription. However, multitasking brings physicians a heavy cognitive load. It also severely compresses the duration of patient-provider communication. As a result, some of the patients' needs, especially emotional ones, are neglected. Based on these findings, we discuss the characteristics and requirements of high-speed chronic care and accordingly propose design suggestions. © 2022 ACM.

The precise detection and segmentation of tumor lesions are very important for lung cancer computer-aided ***,in PET/CT(Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography)lung images,the lesion shapes are complex,the edges are blurred,and the sample numbers are *** solve these problems,this paper proposes a Multi-branch Cross-scale Interactive Feature fusion Transformer model(MCIF-Transformer Mask RCNN)for PET/CT lung tumor instance segmentation,The main innovative works of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the ResNet-Transformer backbone network is used to extract global feature and local feature in lung *** pixel dependence relationship is established in local and non-local fields to improve the model perception ***,the Cross-scale Interactive Feature Enhancement auxiliary network is designed to provide the shallow features to the deep features,and the cross-scale interactive feature enhancement module(CIFEM)is used to enhance the attention ability of the fine-grained ***,the Cross-scale Interactive Feature fusion FPN network(CIF-FPN)is constructed to realize bidirectional interactive fusion between deep features and shallow features,and the low-level features are enhanced in deep semantic ***,4 ablation experiments,3 comparison experiments of detection,3 comparison experiments of segmentation and 6 comparison experiments with two-stage and single-stage instance segmentation networks are done on PET/CT lung medical image *** results showed that APdet,APseg,ARdet and ARseg indexes are improved by 5.5%,5.15%,3.11%and 6.79%compared with Mask RCNN(resnet50).Based on the above research,the precise detection and segmentation of the lesion region are realized in this *** method has positive significance for the detection of lung tumors.

Brain tissue segmentation is critical for diagnosing and treating brain diseases. While Mamba-based models excel in the medical field, they face performance bottlenecks with high-resolution MRI images, often losing local feature information in complex texture structures. To address these challenges and enable deployment in resource-limited settings, we propose Dual-MambaNet, a lightweight segmentation model based on Mamba. In Dual-MambaNet, we introduce the Outlook attention module to capture local complex textures and structures in brain MRI images. Subsequently, we combined it with the Mamba block to construct a feature extractor (FE) encoder layer to couple local and global features. Additionally, we integrate dual decoder branches and a multi-level pixel contrastive loss function(MPCL) to better integrate local and global features. This method optimizes global feature representation by refining local complex textures and structural details, effectively capturing multi-level features in MRI images. Experimental results on public brain MRI datasets OASIS1 and MRBrainS13 demonstrate that Dual-MambaNet achieves high segmentation accuracy with minimal parameters and computational complexity, making it suitable for deployment in resource-limited medical environments. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

A new dual-band low-profile quadrifilar-helical antenna (QHA) was presented. The spiral radiation arm of QHA is printed to three circular dielectric plates to reduce the antenna height. In this case, the radiation arm of the lower layer is connected to the feed, and the L-shaped branch is connected to the ground through a 50 ohm resistance. The radiation arm in the middle layer adds branches to realize dual frequency. The upper radiation arm rotates inward and folds, further realizing miniaturization. As a result, the height of QHA is only 20mm. Through CST simulation and optimization, The operating frequency bands of QHA are 1GHz - 1.45GHz and 1.54GHz - 1.74GHz. The beam width of QHA is more than 120°, which is to provide service for satellite navigating systems. The AR for the operation bands are less than 3dB. © 2023 IEEE.

A control circuit for active metasurface based on varactor diode is designed in this paper. By varying the reverse bias voltage on the varactor diode, the designed circuit can regulate the additional phase of the active meta-atoms. The circuit adopts a form of one master and multiple slaves, which can simultaneously control the bias voltage of 960 meta-atoms. Each slave can control up to 64 channels. The control accuracy is 0.04V. The power consumption of a single slave is 160mW. Though experiment verification, the circuit has a good effect in controlling the beam deflection of the metasurface and generating OAM beams. © 2023 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

Internet traffic analysis is the core approach to network management and security. In the rapidly changing environment of encrypted traffic, traditional plaintext-based analysis methods have become obsolete. Although there are currently some methods for analysing encrypted traffic, they overlook the inherent logic and hierarchy of different encrypted traffic analysis requirements and lack research into the essential characteristics of encrypted *** article proposes a framework FM-ENet based on Graph Neural Network and Deep learning for Tor encrypted traffic classification to meet the practical needs of network management and security monitoring.A Flow Information Graph has been designed on the basis of Graph Neural Network, which can effectively alleviate the problem of concept *** the area of deep neural networks, we have developed an end-to-end multi-level spatio-temporal feature fusion enhanced network module ST-FENet, which has the advantage of automatically learning the non-linear relationship between input and output data without the need for manual feature extraction,this structure can complement each other in classification performance and solve the problem of low classifier efficiency. We compared FM-ENet to current popular methods using the public ISCX-Tor dataset. FM-ENet can achieve higher performance while saving costs, with a 9% improvement in accuracy compared to FlowPrint and a 4.4%, 4.5% and 4.4% improvement in PR, RC and F1 indicators compared to TSCRNN. © 2024 SPIE.

With the increasing number and capabilities of orbital satellites and their onboard sensors, satellites scheduling plays an important role in growing demands for Earth observation tasks. A conflict-priority-based variable neighborhood tabu search method is proposed in this paper. By analyzing the flexibility of resources, the conflict-priority of tasks, and the visible time window features, the indicators of the impact, the conflict, the flexibility, and the bad impact are first established. On this basis, a first-come first-served greedy algorithm and a minimum bad impact greedy algorithm are designed for the generation of the initial solution. some rule-based heuristic strategies are also adopted for optimizing. Additionally, the algorithm incorporates three types of neighborhood structures including insertion, swapping and rearrangement, and deletion, using a tabu list to avoid local optima. Experimental results indicate the validity and efficiency of the proposed method. All solutions are within 10% of the optimal solution, with some even within 5%.The proposed method is effective for obtaining optimum solutions or solutions with a very good quality in various multi-satellite scheduling scenarios of realistic planning. © Chinese Society of Astronautics 2024.

Continual Semantic Segmentation (CSS) aims to continuously learn new classes while mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Existing CSS methods primarily address this challenge through knowledge distillation. While they focus on maintaining stability for old classes, this emphasis often restricts plasticity in learning new ones. In this work, we propose two plug-and-play methods to better balance stability and plasticity. First, for feature map distillation, we replace pixel-level constraints with statistical information extraction within a window, improving the learning of new classes while preserving structural integrity to overcome forgetting. Second, we use relative ranks of predictions to replace exact probabilistic values to loosen the constraints in the logit distribution of old classes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our methods outperform state-of-the-art methods when integrating into several baselines across various CSS scenarios. © 2025 IEEE.

In low-illumination environments, the contrast between targets and the background sharply decreases, and imaging sensors introduce complex random noise while capturing more light, leading to severe distortion in the target features of visible light images. Under these conditions, target feature-based detection algorithms face significant challenges. In this paper, we propose a coarse-to-fine change detection algorithm that detects targets in low-illumination environments by focusing on the change features generated by the targets. First, a binary classifier based on ResNet18 is trained with a specially curated dataset of targets and noise. Second, this classifier is applied to identify potential change objects in test data, preserve targets, and extract corresponding bi-temporal local regions of interest. Third, novel difference feature extraction operators are employed to generate local difference images. Next, a Laplacian-of-Gaussian-based graph cut algorithm is used to perform binary segmentation, distinguishing foreground from background in the images. We validated the feasibility of this algorithm in three challenging night scenes. Compared with the current state-of-the-art unsupervised change detection algorithms, the proposed algorithm shows overall better detection performance. © 2024 SPIE.

Multitasking multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MMEAs) have been extensively studied in the past decade, which mainly concentrate on multitasking multi-objective optimization problems (MMOPs) with dozens of decision variables. Nevertheless, many real-world MMOPs have thousands of decision variables and are of sparse nature, which are regarded as large-scale MMOPs (LSMMOPs) in this study. To address LSMMOPs, a sparsity knowledge transfer-based evolutionary multi-objective algorithm, termed EMO-SKT, is proposed for efficiently finding high-quality sparse solutions of LSMMOPs. For each target optimization task, a sparsity knowledge transfer strategy extracts sparse distribution information from a source task and incorporates the information into the target task for two types of sparsity knowledge: variable importance and sparse degree. The variable importance is utilized to produce high-quality sparse solutions during the evolutionary search for EMO-SKT, while the sparse degree facilitates the reduction of search space and thus speeds up the convergence of the evolutionary search. Experimental results on eight benchmark problems and six practical LSMMOPs demonstrate the effectiveness of the sparsity knowledge transfer strategy. Furthermore, the proposed EMO-SKT is capable of efficiently finding high-quality sparse solutions on an LSMMOP with over 1000 decision variables. In comparison with five state-of-the-art multitasking or sparse optimization algorithms, the proposed EMO-SKT exhibits superior performance in terms of both solution quality and search efficiency. © 1997-2012 IEEE.
