Let D is a strong oriented graph, the strong distance sd(u, v) is the number of arcs of D containing u and v. For a vertex v of D, the strong eccentricity se(v) is the strong distance between v and a vertex farthest from v. The strong radius srad(D) is the minimum strong eccentricity among the vertices of D. The minimum strong radius srad(G) of a graph D is the minimum strong radius over all strong orientations of G. And G1 ⊗ G2 denote the strong product of graphs G1 and G2. In this paper, according to the order of paths we give the result of the minimum strong radius of the strong product of paths, and propose a new directed network design method. © 2023 SPIE.

Data security has always been one of the public concerns, and homomorphic encryption technology, as one of the effective means to ensure data security, has always been a hot topic of academic research. Traditional machine learning is trained in a batch environment. In practice, data owners tend to outsource data and model training tasks to third-party clouds with huge computing resources, but data outsourcing carries the risk of privacy leakage. Therefore, in order to prevent this situation, an effective method is to encrypt the data before the outsourcing, and the third-party cloud trains the machine model of the ciphertext data. This method has special requirements for encryption algorithms which should support computation directly on the ciphertext data. This paper presents a novel data flow computing privacy protection framework based on the homomorphic encryption algorithm CKKS and the flow data processing engine Flink, called SDPPF (Streaming Data Privacy Protection on Flink). The proposed framework supports the functions of data stream encryption, decryption and ciphertext computing, and expands the functions of vector point multiplication and array sum operation on the basic simultaneous operation supported by the original CKKS algorithm. This paper also selects a classical machine learning algorithm: KNN algorithm, combined with the homomorphic encryption algorithm CKKS to realize the privacy protection machine learning algorithm. © 2023 SPIE.

Drug repositioning is a vital area of biomedicine, where confirming interactions between drugs and specific targets is essential for establishing the efficacy of pharmaceutical agents. Traditional in vitro screening methods have limitations, prompting the use of computer simulations as an effective alternative for predicting drug-target interactions (DTI). This approach has gained significant attention in the scientific community. In this study, we introduce MFCM-DTI, a DTI prediction model that employs multimodal features to accurately capture the intricate interactions between drug molecular structures and key amino acids of target proteins. Our results demonstrate that MFCM-DTI outperforms existing models in prediction accuracy and robustness. Furthermore, MFCM-DTI has been successfully used to predict interactions between key SARS-CoV-2 proteins and existing drugs, providing a solid foundation for developing therapeutic agents against SARS-CoV-2 infection. This study underscores the broad applicability and strong predictive capabilities of MFCM-DTI in drug-protein interaction prediction, opening new avenues for research. The predicted drug targets and interaction data offer valuable insights for future experimental validation and clinical trials, potentially driving innovation in the biomedical field. © 2024 IEEE.

A mimic multi-layer polarization-independent FSS with accessible angular-stability is reported using a three-layer structure, where the top layer and the bottom layer are realized based the metal rings that are same, and the middle is constructed by a slotted metal structure. The mentioned three layers are aimed to separate the used two dielectric substrates. For a well illustration, the constructed dimensions of the installed FSS are $\boldsymbol{5\times 5}\mathbf{mm}^{2}$ . As a case of the FSS cell design, here the dimension is limited as $\boldsymbol{0.15}\lambda\times \boldsymbol{0.15}\lambda$ . Since two different structure is used, the FSS has double resonace, making a wide operation. From the numerical evaluations, the FSS can reject the signal from C-and X-band.

Thyroid nodules, which can manifest as solitary or multiple growths, are among the most prevalent diseases with a high incidence rate. When examining thyroid nodules, ultrasound is typically the first step. Ultrasound image segmentation of thyroid nodules can assist physicians in diagnosis. However, the following three factors limit the development of thyroid nodule segmentation: (1) most of the existing studies optimize the segmentation of single nodules, and the incidence of multiple nodules is higher, so the segmentation of multiple nodules is also very important;(2) the ultrasound image of thyroid nodules is difficult to segment because of its low resolution and fuzzy boundary;(3) Due to the small data set of thyroid nodule ultrasound, in such a small dataset, attention mechanisms may be prone to overfitting, resulting in poorer generalization performance. Therefore, the attention-based model may not be suitable for the segmentation of thyroid nodules. Hence, we propose Hybrid Convolutional U-Net (HCU-Net), a simple and strong fully convolutional neural network for the segmentation of single or multiple thyroid nodules. HCU-Net incorporates a large receptive field to ensure accurate and stable segmentation. Specifically, we design Hybrid Branch Block to enhance the network's feature extraction capability for single or multiple nodules in ultrasound images by integrating multi-scale features. Furthermore, we add Enhanced ConvNeXt Blocks to the U-Net's final layer, enabling the extraction of global contextual information for segmentation performance. The Experimental results show that our proposed method can effectively improve these issues on two publicly available datasets. In addition, compared to attention-based models, our network is simpler and more suitable for small datasets like ultrasound images. © 2024 IEEE.

The identification of drug-protein interactions (DTIs) is a critical step in drug development and repositioning. However, detecting these interactions using scientific methods presents a formidable challenge. Existing models often struggle to extract relevant information from drug-protein sequences, and they fail to consider pre-existing interactions between pairs. Here, we introduce a deep learning model, DPAG, based on attention mechanisms and graph neural networks, which overcomes these limitations. DPAG leverages information from both the drug and protein sequences, as well as the association between drug-protein pairs, to predict DTIs. We conducted multiple experiments to evaluate the performance of the model in benchmark datasets, and the results showed that DPAG achieved excellent performance in terms of AUC, AUPR, precision, and recall. Our findings suggest that DPAG holds significant potential as a promising tool for predicting DTIs in drug development and repositioning. Establishing dense correspondences between semantically similar images is a challenging task. Cost aggregation is a crucial step in finding correct dense correspondences, with the goal of optimizing the initial correlation map thereby removing the ambiguity of the correspondences. Current approaches use transformer architectures for cost aggregation, which lack local priors to adequately capture the local information contained in the correlation map. We propose to incorporate peripheral position coding into the transformer to explore the local information to obtain the matching set and call it the Peripheral Transformer Matcher (PTM). This coding technique partitions the overall receptive field of the self-attention mechanism into diverse peripheral regions, each with its own set of weights. By doing this, the proposed PTM gets a specific local prior by adding an inductive bias to the transformer models and making the initial correlation map less confusing. In addition, a local self-attention module is used to enhance the image features and obtain an enhanced initial correlation map. Comparisons of the experimental results with baselines on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PTM. © 2023 IEEE.

Cascading failures are a class of dynamical behaviors that are widely present in various types of complex systems. The study of cascading failures has also been a hot topic for researchers. The results have shown that the process of cascading failures varies greatly depending on the structure of the network. Based on the double-layer hyper-network structure, considering the types of hyper-networks and the way of inter-layer connection, we construct four types of 3 uniform double-layer hyper-networks. In addition, the Couple Map Lattice (CML) cascading failure model is proposed which is suitable for describing the cascading failure behavior of a double-layer hyper-network. By this model, we analyzed the cascading failure processes happen in hyper-edges of a uniform double-layer hyper-network. Furthermore, through theoretical analysis, an approximate solution for the external perturbation threshold is obtained, which makes the double-layer hyper-network reaches the global collapse. The results of this paper provide an important reference for optimizing the robustness of realistic double-layer hyper-networks. In practical applications, the robustness of the double-layer hyper-networks can be improved by reducing the inter-layer connectivity probability p12 and the coupling strength ϵ between hyper-edges. © 2022 IEEE.

In Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), the reward model plays a crucial role in aligning language model outputs with human values. The human preference data used to train the reward model consists of a prompt and a response pair, with humans annotating which response better aligns with human value preferences. Due to the complexity and subjectivity of the annotation task, multiple organizations including OpenAI and Anthropic report significant noise in the human preference datasets, leading to instability and deviation in reward model training from human values. We discover that the difference in scores assigned to response pairs by the reward model effectively indicates the quality of data, and data of varying qualities show significant distinctions in reward model training. We introduce a method that automatically adjusts reward modeling based on data quality, reducing the impact of noise and making full use of dataset. Experiments on multiple human preference datasets demonstrate that our method stabilizes reward model training and significantly enhances the alignment performance of RLHF. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.
