Medical image segmentation in X-ray images is beneficial for computer-aided diagnosis and lesion localization. Existing methods mainly fall into a centralized learning paradigm, which is inapplicable in the practical medical scenario that only has access to distributed data islands. Federated Learning has the potential to offer a distributed solution but struggles with heavy training instability due to client-wise domain heterogeneity (including distribution diversity and class imbalance). In this paper, we propose a novel Federated Client-tailored Adapter (FCA) framework for medical image segmentation, which achieves stable and client-tailored adaptive segmentation without sharing sensitive local data. Specifically, the federated adapter stirs universal knowledge in off-the-shelf medical foundation models to stabilize the federated training process. In addition, we develop two client-tailored federated updating strategies that adaptively decompose the adapter into common and individual components, then globally and independently update the parameter groups associated with common client-invariant and individual client-specific units, respectively. They further stabilize the heterogeneous federated learning process and realize optimal client-tailored instead of sub-optimal global-compromised segmentation models. Extensive experiments on three large-scale datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed FCA framework for federated medical segmentation. © 2025, CC BY.

Recently,object detection based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs)has developed *** backbone networks for basic feature extraction are an important component of the whole detection ***,we present a new feature extraction strategy in this paper,which name is *** this strategy,we design:1)a sandwich attention feature fusion module(SAFF module).Its purpose is to enhance the semantic information of shallow features and resolution of deep features,which is beneficial to small object detection after feature fusion.2)to add a new stage called D-block to alleviate the disadvantages of decreasing spatial resolution when the pooling layer increases the receptive *** method proposed in the new stage replaces the original method of obtaining the P6 feature map and uses the result as the input of the regional proposal network(RPN).In the experimental phase,we use the new strategy to extract *** experiment takes the public dataset of Microsoft Common Objects in Context(MS COCO)object detection and the dataset of Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)image classification as the experimental object *** results show that the average recognition accuracy of COVID-19 in the classification dataset is improved to 98.163%,and small object detection in object detection tasks is improved by 4.0%.

In this paper, we propose the CodeRetriever model, which learns the function-level code semantic representations through large-scale code-text contrastive pre-training. We adopt two contrastive learning schemes in CodeRetriever: unimodal contrastive learning and bimodal contrastive learning. For unimodal contrastive learning, we design an unsupervised learning approach to build semantic-related code pairs based on the documentation and function name. For bimodal contrastive learning, we leverage the documentation and in-line comments of code to build code-text pairs. Both contrastive objectives can fully leverage large-scale code corpus for pre-training. Extensive experimental results show that CodeRetriever achieves new state-of-the-art with significant improvement over existing code pre-trained models, on eleven domain/language-specific code search tasks with six programming languages in different code granularity (function-level, snippet-level and statement-level). These results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of CodeRetriever. This paper proposes an enhanced approach utilizing the YOLOv7 model for automated construction site environment detection and management. The method leverages high-resolution surveillance cameras and computer vision techniques to achieve this goal. The proposed method starts with data collection of the construction site environment. Then produce accurate bounding boxes. These bounding boxes serve as input to an improved YOLOv7 network model, enabling feature extraction and generating high-scoring feature maps with associated weights. Utilizing these weights, image segmentation is performed to obtain the desired detection heads. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method in identifying and annotating various environmental features within the construction site, leading to significant improvements in detection accuracy. Compared to similar techniques, this method offers faster detection speed, higher accuracy, and reduced error rates. The proposed construction site environment detection method provides an efficient and automated solution for on-site management in the construction industry, with practical applications and value. © 2023 IEEE.

Accurately predicting drug-target interactions (DTI) is a critical step in drug discovery. Existing methods of DTI prediction primarily employ Simplified Molecular-Input Line-Entry System (SMILES) sequences or molecular graphs to learn drug representations. However, the features learned by such single-view approach is prone to incomplete. While some multiview methods that consider the views of both SMILES sequences and molecular graphs have been developed, these methods often fall in short in capturing potential interactions between views. In this work, we propose a novel dual contrastive learning framework CSCL-DTI for DTI prediction. First, we design a contrastive-enhanced cross-view representation learning (CVRL) to learn representations for drugs. In this module, Transformer-based and graph convolutional network (GCN)-based encoders are separately adopted to learn view-specific representations, followed by contrastive learning to enrich the representations by accounting for the potential interplay between local chemical context and topological structure. Second, we combine Transformer with self-supervised contrastive learning (SSCL) to learn representations for targets by modelling protein amino acids sequences. The scheme allows to effectively preserve the intrinsic characteristics of the sequences. Finally, we introduce a bilinear attention network to obtain an integrated representation by adaptively incorporating drug and target representations. Benchmarking experiments on two datasets demonstrated that CSCL-DTI1 outperforms six state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 IEEE.

The primary objective of outlier detection is to identify values that are significantly different from other data in the dataset. However, most of the current algorithms are effective for small-scale data and their performance is highly dependent on the choice of parameters. To this, the paper proposes an innovative outlier detection algorithm, named FBOD, which is based on data features. Specifically, FBOD utilizes the number of combinations of attribute values in each tuple across the dataset as a key feature of the tuple. This feature reflects the degree of differentiation of each data tuple from the overall dataset. By identifying data features that are significantly different from objects in the entire dataset, FBOD can accurately determine outliers. Based on the knowledge of attribute importance in Rough Set Theory, FBOD can efficiently reduce the data dimensionality, so high-dimensional datasets can be handled by FBOD. Furthermore, this paper employs a distributed parallelism approach in the algorithm. The performance of FBOD is evaluated on several datasets, including standard datasets and artificial datasets, and is compared with common outlier detection algorithms. Experimental results indicate that, compared to existing typical algorithms, FBOD achieves higher outlier detection accuracy without relying on a prior knowledge of datasets or parameter selection. It also proves the suitability of FBOD for large-scale dataset processing on distributed platforms. © 2024 IEEE.

Community detection is essential for identifying cohesive groups in complex networks. Artificial benchmarks are critical for evaluating community detection algorithms, offering controlled environments with known community structures. However, existing benchmarks mainly focus on homogeneous networks and overlook the unique characteristics of heterogeneous networks. This paper proposes a novel artificial benchmark, called ABCD-HN (Artificial Network Benchmark for Community Detection on Heterogeneous Networks), for community detection in heterogeneous networks. This benchmark enables the generation of artificial heterogeneous networks with controllable community quantity, node quantity, and community complexity. Additionally, an evaluation framework for artificial heterogeneous networks is proposed to assess their effectiveness. A simple broadband slotted circularly-polarized (CP) antenna (SBS-CP) is presented, which mainly consists of a ground structure with a modified slot and an asymmetric feeding structure. The two structures can give different CP characteristics in low and high frequencies. By etching rectangular slots in the ground structure, the coupling effect between feeding and ground structure will be improved and the bandwidth will be broadened. By modeling and optimizing the antenna, the proposed antenna impedance bandwidth (IBW) and axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) are 113% (2.08~7.46 GHz) and 97% (2.5~7.24 GHz), respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Recent advancements in large language models have led to significant improvements in various natural language processing tasks, including automated question answering. However, these models still struggle with providing accurate responses to complex biology questions, such as those found in the National College Entrance Examination. To address this issue, researchers have explored retrieval-augmented generation techniques, which incorporate external knowledge sources to enhance answer accuracy. While these methods have shown promise in improving efficiency, they often lack the ability to perform in-depth analysis of complex questions. In response to these limitations, the paper proposes a novel ReAct agent-based question answering method. This method combines biology textbook document libraries with Google search engine capabilities, leveraging the strengths of large language models. By integrating these components, this method can engage in autonomous decision-making and multi-step reasoning, allowing for a more thorough analysis of complex biology questions. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this new approach. When compared to responses generated directly by ChatGPT and GPT-4o models, the method showed significant improvements in accuracy for biology questions from the National College Entrance Examination. Specifically, the new method achieved accuracy increases of 11.1% and 4.64% over ChatGPT and GPT-4o, respectively. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are essential for gene expression, and the complex RNA-protein interaction mechanisms require analysis of global RNA information. Therefore, accurate prediction of RBP binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts is crucial for understanding these mechanisms and their roles in diseases. While machine learning methods can predict RBP binding to RNA fragments, extending this to full-length transcripts presents challenges due to sequence length and data imbalance. In this paper, we introduce RBP-Former, a binding site joint prediction model designed specifically for full-length RNA transcripts that can be used for multiple RBPs. This model processes information at both coarse and fine-grained levels to fully exploit sequence data and its interactions with multiple RBPs. We develop multi-level imbalance learning strategies, achieving favorable results on imbalanced data. Our method outperforms existing methods in predicting binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts for multiple RBPs, demonstrating its effectiveness in handling imbalanced label and sample distributions. © 2024 IEEE.
