Variational mode decomposition (VMD) is extensively utilized in the field of industrial signal processing due to its superior anti-mixing and denoising capabilities. However, in practice, the performance of VMD is significantly influenced by the initial center frequency. An improper setting of can significantly reduce the stability of decomposition, resulting in the loss or masking of feature information by noise. To address the above issue, an improved VMD algorithm is proposed in this work. Our algorithm redefines based on the narrowband characteristics of intrinsic mode function (IMF). Under the new definition, can be adaptively adjusted based on the signal spectrum processed by Wiener filtering. This adjustment significantly enhances the flexibility and anti-mixing performance of the original VMD. To validate our proposed method, comparative experiments were conducted using two sets of fault data from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). The results demonstrate that our method is more effective and superior in extracting fault features. © 2024 IEEE.

Trajectory classification algorithms are widely used in fields such as behavior recognition, anomaly detection and monitoring, and video content analysis. To overcome the issues of traditional trajectory classification algorithms that require large supporting data and continuous model updates to ensure effectiveness, we take inspiration from the concept learning approach proposed by Brenden et al. We simulate how humans learn rich concepts from a single hand-drawn sample and propose a Bayesian program learning-based trajectory classification algorithm. This algorithm first builds concepts from a set of hand-drawn trajectories and then classifies trajectory data based on these constructed concepts. Experimental results show that our algorithm outperforms traditional single-sample learning algorithms in trajectory classification tasks and also shows superior performance over traditional single-sample learning algorithms when the dataset includes noisy data.

Spring pair method of finding saddle points using the minimum energy path as a compass

Finding index-1 saddle points is crucial for understanding phase transitions. In this work, we propose a simple yet efficient approach, the spring pair method (SPM), to accurately locate saddle points. Without requiring the Hessian information, the SPM evolves a single pair of spring-coupled particles on an energy surface. By designing complementary drifting and climbing dynamics based on gradient decomposition, the spring pair converges onto the minimum energy path (MEP) and spontaneously aligns its orientation with the MEP tangent, providing a reliable ascent direction for efficient convergence to saddle points. The SPM fundamentally differs from traditional surface walking methods that rely on the eigenvectors of the Hessian, which may deviate from the MEP tangent and potentially lead to convergence failure or undesired saddle points. The efficiency of the SPM for finding saddle points is verified by ample examples, including Lennard-Jones clusters, Morse clusters, water clusters, and the Landau energy functional involving quasicrystal phase transitions.

Recent text-to-image (T2I) diffusion models have achieved remarkable progress in generating high-quality images given text-prompts as input. However, these models fail to convey appropriate spatial composition specified by a layout instruction. In this work, we probe into zero-shot grounded T2I generation with diffusion models, that is, generating images corresponding to the input layout information without training auxiliary modules or finetuning diffusion models. We propose a Region and Boundary (R&B) aware cross-attention guidance approach that gradually modulates the attention maps of diffusion model during generative process, and assists the model to synthesize images (1) with high fidelity, (2) highly compatible with textual input, and (3) interpreting layout instructions accurately. Specifically, we leverage the discrete sampling to bridge the gap between consecutive attention maps and discrete layout constraints, and design a region-aware loss to refine the generative layout during diffusion process. We further propose a boundary-aware loss to strengthen object discriminability within the corresponding regions. Experimental results show that our method outperforms existing state-of-the-art zero-shot grounded T2I generation methods by a large margin both qualitatively and quantitatively on several benchmarks. Technological innovation is becoming one of the critical factors in promoting social development all over the world. The vigorous development of patent applications in recent years provides an opportunity to reveal the inherent laws of innovation, but it also puts forward higher requirements for patent mining technology. An essential step in patent text mining is to build a technical portrait for each patent, that is, to identify the technical phrases involved, which can summarize and represent the patent from a technical perspective. Previous technical phrase extraction methods thoroughly used technical phrases' characteristics and the relationship between technical phrases. Regarding our observations, the relationship between patent texts and technical phrases is also essential. Specifically, critical technical phrases are more relevant to the patent text and can be discovered by the attention mechanism. Motivated by this, we propose an unsupervised technical phrase extraction method based on the attention mechanism named UTESC. Self-attention captures the importance of technical phrases in sentences, and cross-attention captures the relevance between technical phrases and patents. Extensive experiments and algorithm comparisons on patent datasets have proven the effectiveness of our algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

The data in the chemical process is often complex in structure,and the coupling and correlation between variables are ***,it is difficult for conventional monitoring models to learn the essential characteristics of process data,which greatly affects the performance of the *** at the above problems,this paper proposes an optimized multi-kernel dictionary learning method,which is suitable for the industrial processes with strong nonlinearity and complex data ***,the synthetic kernel fused by multiple kernel functions is used to map the process data to a new high-dimensional feature space to mine the multivariate distribution characteristics of the ***,the grid search method is used to optimize the model parameters in the kernel function for better model ***,the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method in fault detection are verified on TE benchmark platform.

Spatio-temporal relationships play an important role in group activity recognition. The spatio-temporal relationships are complex and varied, containing relationships between individuals, between individuals and subgroups, and between subgroups. However, there is no unified method for measuring these multidimensional spatio-temporal relationships. Therefore, this paper proposes a set of metric methods for multidimensional spatio-temporal relationships based on geometric algebra, including the metric method based on positional features and the metric method based on appearance features. And this paper proposed a deep network for video group activity recognition based on multidimensional spatio-temporal relationships. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the accuracy of group activity recognition.

Pretrained language models excel in various natural language processing tasks but often neglect the integration of different scripts within a language, constraining their ability to capture richer semantic information, such as in Hindi. In this work, we present a dual-script enhanced feature representation method for Hindi. We combine single-script features from Devanagari and Romanized Hindi Roberta using concatenation, addition, cross-attention, and convolutional networks. The experiment results show that using a dual-script approach significantly improves model performance across various tasks. The addition fusion technique excels in sequence generation tasks, while for text classification, the CNN-based dual-script enhanced representation performs best with longer sentences, and the addition fusion technique is more effective for shorter sequences. Our approach shows significant advantages in multiple natural language processing tasks, providing a new perspective on feature representation for Hindi. Both real and fake news in various domains, such as politics, health, and entertainment are spread via online social media every day, necessitating fake news detection for multiple domains. Among them, fake news in specific domains like politics and health has more serious potential negative impacts on the real world (e.g., the infodemic led by COVID-19 misinformation). Previous studies focus on multi-domain fake news detection, by equally mining and modeling the correlation between domains. However, these multi-domain methods suffer from a seesaw problem: the performance of some domains is often improved at the cost of hurting the performance of other domains, which could lead to an unsatisfying performance in specific domains. To address this issue, we propose a Domain- and Instance-level Transfer Framework for Fake News Detection (DITFEND), which could improve the performance of specific target domains. To transfer coarse-grained domain-level knowledge, we train a general model with data of all domains from the meta-learning perspective. To transfer fine-grained instance-level knowledge and adapt the general model to a target domain, we train a language model on the target domain to evaluate the transferability of each data instance in source domains and re-weigh each instance’s contribution. Offline experiments on two datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of DITFEND. Online experiments show that DITFEND brings additional improvements over the base models in a real-world scenario. © 2022 Proceedings - International Conference on Computational Linguistics, COLING. This paper describes a multi target drug design method based on features of the target proteins. The multi target drug which inhibit multiple proteins have prospective applications, but design is difficult. In this study, the target protein sequences are embedded to obtain target features. The features of each target are independently encoded as target latent vectors, and the features of multiple targets are jointly encoded as target similarity latent vectors. Based on the features of targets and the similarity features among the targets, multi target drugs are efficiently designed. In the experiments, the designed multi target drugs can be docked with target proteins with a proprietary molecular structure according to the requirements of different target pocket structures. The excellent fitness among the molecular structure of multi target drugs and the protein structure of multiple targets confirms the performance of the proposed method. In the molecular docking part of the experi¬ments, the binding affinity of designed multi target drugs is far better than that in the previous studies, which administrates the better performance of this work. © 2024 IEEE.
