Image deraining typically involves synthesizing low-quality degraded data for training using a predefined degraded model of a single weather condition. While in real world scenarios, varying rain intensities result in different sizes and densities of raindrops and rain streaks, increasing the complexity of image degradation. In this paper, we proposed a multi-stage deraining framework based on pre-trained diffusion model, it can efficiently perform the rain removal task under a variety of weather situations. We diffuse degraded images into a noisy state where various types of degradation are transformed into Gaussian noise. Then, during the denoising process, the low-frequency information of the image is replaced through iterative refinement, guiding the pre-trained diffusion model for image reconstruction. Our method effectively utilizes the generative priors in diffusion models and avoid the computational burden of retraining conditional diffusion models. Experimental results on four rainy degradation image datasets show its robustness to different types and severities of degradation (such as raindrops and rain streaks). Compared to recent deraining algorithms, our method achieves a maximum improvement of 0.96 dB (3.5%) in PSNR and 0.021 dB (2.7%) in SSIM for the restored images. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Large language models trained on large-scale text corpora have become the primary solution for various natural language processing tasks. The alignment work to make the output content of large models consistent with human values and true intentions has become a significant research topic. This paper investigates the alignment of large models and related evaluation work by specifying the alignment goals at three levels: human instructions, human preferences, and human values. And then introducing the alignment paradigms and methods such as In-context Learning, Supervised Fine-tuning, and Reinforcement Learning, along with evaluation work derived from the alignment task, and presenting the existing evaluation paradigms and benchmarks. Finally, by synthesizing and refining existing research findings, the paper provides insights into the future development of alignment tasks for large language models. © 2024 ACM.

Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is a widely used technique for protein identification, post-translational modifications, immunotherapy, and other applications. As the amount of MS/MS spectra data increases, new computational methods are needed to efficiently search through these databases. This study introduces MS2VEC, a novel fingerprint embedding model designed to facilitate large-scale retrieval of peptide mass spectra. MS2VEC captures the relationships between distant peaks and incorporates position-aware fingerprint features from all peaks. To do this, dilated convolutions are used to capture remote relationships, and a novel position-aware multi-head attention pooling mechanism is used to abstract fingerprint features. The results demonstrate that MS2VEC achieves a top-1 retrieval accuracy of 0.810, outperforming existing methods by 5.1%. Interestingly, the precursor charge is not essential for the retrieval task, as the spectra itself contains enough information to accurately predict the charge. Additionally, the results suggest that weight-balanced fragment ions and water losses are important contributors to fingerprint features. © 2023 IEEE.

Task-oriented dialogue (TOD) systems aim to efficiently handle task-oriented conversations, including information collection. How to utilize TOD accurately, efficiently and effectively for information collection has always been a critical and challenging task. Recent studies have demonstrated that Large Language Models (LLMs) excel in dialogue, instruction generation, and reasoning, and can significantly enhance the performance of TOD through fine-tuning. However, current datasets primarily cater to user-led systems and are limited to predefined specific scenarios and slots, thereby necessitating improvements in the proactiveness, diversity, and capabilities of TOD. In this study, we present a detailed multi-domain task-oriented data construction process for conversations, and a Chinese dialogue dataset generated based on this process, TransferTOD, which authentically simulates human-computer dialogues in 30 popular life service scenarios. Leveraging this dataset, we trained a model using full-parameter fine-tuning called TransferTOD-7B, showcasing notable abilities in slot filling and questioning. Our work has demonstrated its strong generalization capabilities in various downstream scenarios, significantly enhancing both data utilization efficiency and system performance. Relevance search is to find a list of entities in a knowledge graph (KG), which are associative to a query entity. However, many entities are not linked in KG but are actually associated by user interactions. To this end, we propose a joint weighting function to evaluate the entity associations from both KG and user-entity interaction data simultaneously. Upon the subgraph extracted from KG w.r.t the query entity, we obtain the associative entities by calculating their association degrees. Experimental results show that the effectiveness of our method outperforms other competitors. © 2023 IEEE.

Many complex decision-making processes have been prosecuted with the aid of Pythagorean fuzzy distance methods. This is because the theory of Pythagorean fuzzy sets has the ability to handle the vagueness and imprecision in decision-making. Various Pythagorean fuzzy distance methods have been constructed and applied to multiple criteria decision-making. Recently, Thakur et al. developed a Pythagorean fuzzy distance method based on Euler's number by considering an incomplete number of the parameters of Pythagorean fuzzy sets. This exclusion could render the result of the distance method unreliable in real-life applications. In this work, we augment the Thakur et al:'s Pythagorean fuzzy distance method by the inclusion of the complete parameters of Pythagorean fuzzy sets for an effective interpretation. The properties of the enhanced Pythagorean fuzzy distance method are described and the method satisfies the conditions of distance function. In addition, the new method is used to discuss the selection of renewable energy source based on multiple criteria decision-making approach. Furthermore, the enhanced method is compared with other existing Pythagorean fuzzy distance methods via multiple criteria decision-making approach to show the superiority of the augmented method. © 2024 IEEE.

With the advancement of remote sensing technology, video satellites have played an increasingly important role in both military and civilian domains, and they are widely used in areas such as military guidance, intelligent transportation, and disaster response. Multi-object tracking (MOT) in satellite video is a crucial research topic in these fields and has made certain progress. However, due to the difficulty of tracking objects in complex scene and low resolution, current MOT methods face issues of low accuracy in satellite video. In this work, we propose a joint-detection-and-tracking method called multi-frame temporal MOT (MFT-MOT). Firstly, a heatmap guided multi-frame temporal modeling method is introduced to extract features with temporal semantic information while suppressing background noise. Then, we utilize a weights-shared encoder-decoder network to facilitate interaction of temporal and spatial information and capture inter-frame object motion tracks at low resolution. Experiments on SAT-MTB dataset shows the effectiveness of our method. © 2024 IEEE.

Weld seam grinding is a crucial process for welding cast products. Not only are the polished welds more attractive and durable, but they also have superior stress effects. However, the workplace is harsh and can significantly impact health. The first task for automated weld grinding is weld detection. This paper, a pyramid feature fusion network (YOLOv5-BiCA) learning model with embedded coordinate attention as a weighting condition that fully utilizes the shallow and deep network information. An online data augmentation strategy employing Mosaic+Mixup is proposed to address the problem of insufficient sample size. We use Focal Loss to enhance the classification function and increase the positive influence of positive samples on the loss function during the training process to address the problem of an imbalance between positive and negative sample. Our proposed YOLOv5-BiCA performs better in weld detection, mAP improves by 3.5%, and recall improves by 7.97%, according to experimental results based on homegrown datasets. © 2023 ACM.

Wideband signal recognition is a crucial task in the cognitive wireless communication, involving accurate classification of different signal types, modulation types, center frequencies, etc. However, most conventional approaches treat the recognition of different parameters as multiple independent tasks, and often face performance bottlenecks due to the complexity and diversity of wideband signals. To overcome these challenges, we propose a multi-task learning (MTL) network that integrates multiple tasks of signal recognition into an end-to-end model to accomplish spectrum sensing, modulation recognition, and signal classification simultaneously. By employing a shared feature extraction network and a multi-task classification header, the proposed framework effectively captures the correlations and shared information among different tasks, thereby enhancing overall recognition performance. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, we compare its performance with other state-of-the-art recognition and classification networks. Experimental results demonstrate the significant performance of the proposed MTL network in spectrum sensing, modulation recognition, and signal classification tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

Large language models (LLMs) have achieved tremendous success in understanding language and processing text. However, question-answering (QA) on lengthy documents faces challenges of resource constraints and a high propensity for errors, even for the most advanced models such as GPT-4 and Claude2. In this paper, we introduce LONGAGENT, a multi-agent collaboration method that enables efficient and effective QA over 128k-token-long documents. LONGAGENT adopts a divide- and-conquer strategy, breaking down lengthy documents into shorter, more manageable text chunks. A leader agent comprehends the user's query and organizes the member agents to read their assigned chunks, reasoning a final answer through multiple rounds of discussion. Due to members' hallucinations, it's difficult to guarantee that every response provided by each member is accurate. To address this, we develop an inter-member communication mechanism that facilitates information sharing, allowing for the detection and mitigation of hallucinatory responses. Experimental results show that a LLaMA-2 7B driven by LONGAGENT can effectively support QA over 128k-token documents, achieving 16.42% and 1.63% accuracy gains over GPT-4 on single-hop and multi-hop QA settings, respectively. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.
