Large Language Models (LLMs) are recognized as systems that closely mimic aspects of human intelligence. This capability has attracted the attention of the social science community, who see the potential in leveraging LLMs to replace human participants in experiments, thereby reducing research costs and complexity. In this paper, we introduce a benchmark for LLMs personification, including a strategy for constructing virtual characters’ life stories from the ground up, a Multi-Agent Cognitive Mechanism capable of simulating human cognitive processes, and a psychology-guided evaluation method to assess human simulations from both self and observational perspectives. Experimental results demonstrate that our constructed simulacra can produce personified responses that align with their target characters. We hope this work will serve as a benchmark in the field of human simulation, paving the way for future research. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

With the rapid development of Internet of Everything (IoE) and the popularization of 4G/5G wireless networks, edge computing has gradually become the mainstream. In actual edge environment, some factors have an uncertain impact on scientific workflow scheduling, such as CPU load and bandwidth fluctuations of servers. Aiming at scientific workflow scheduling under uncertain edge environment, based on fuzzy theory, triangular fuzzy numbers (TFNs) were used to represent task computation time and data transmission time. In addition, an Adaptive Discrete Fuzzy GA-based Particle Swarm Optimization (ADFGA-PSO) is proposed to reduce the fuzzy execution cost while satisfying the scientific workflow’s deadline. The uncertainty of workflow scheduling was introduced, which caused by server execution performance fluctuations during task computation and bandwidth fluctuations during data transmission. Meanwhile, two-dimensional discrete particle is adopted to encode the fuzzy scheduling strategy of workflow, and the two-point crossover operator, neighborhood mutation and adaptive multipoint mutation operator of genetic algorithm (GA) were introduced to improve the diversity of population and avoid the local optimum. Experimental results show that compared with other algorithms, ADFGA-PSO can obtain better fuzzy execution cost for deadline-constrained workflow scheduling under uncertain edge environment. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In semi-supervised medical image segmentation, the scarcity of labeled data makes models prone to learning bias, causing persistent errors in certain regions and eventual over-fitting, significantly impacting segmentation performance. These problematic regions, termed difficult areas, are inadequately addressed by existing methods. To address this, We propose the Difficulty Perception-processing Heterogeneous Network (DPP-Net). It guides the model in accurately perceiving and rectifying difficult areas, overcoming learning bias. Specifically, we introduce the Global Mutual Perception (GMP) to establish a comprehensive information perception channel between sample data, enabling a more holistic and accurate perception of difficult areas. The Difficulty-Aware Rectification (DAR) structure ensures continuous monitoring of difficult areas during training, allowing for timely adjustments to errors. Additionally, the Adaptive Competitive Pseudo-Label (ACP) Augmentation strategy enhances pseudo-labels through adaptive confidence competition. Experimental results on two different medical image databases (CT and MRI) demonstrate that our approach outperforms several state-of-the-art methods.

Surface reconstruction of dynamic scenes from single view videos is a challenging task due to the highly ill-posed and under-constrained nature. Existing single view reconstruction methods suffer from severe quality issues, such as surface distortion and mesh adherison. In this paper, we propose an efficient dynamic representation network, PD-SDF, which consists of a 4D motion field and a 3D geometry field. The explicit disentanglement of motion and geometry based on planar factorization guarantees the mesh consistency across frames. Specifically, to address the mesh adhesion problem, we design a depth-guided sampling strategy to focus on optimizing the SDF field near the object surface. Due to insufficient geometric cues, we design various regularization strategies to constrain smoothness and topological correcness of the scene geometry. Heterogeneous information networks (HINs) have become a popular tool to capture complicated user-item relationships in recommendation problems in recent years. As a typical instantiation of HINs, meta-path is introduced in search of higher-level representations of user-item interactions. Though remarkable success has been achieved along this direction, existing meta-path-based recommendation methods face at least one of the following issues: 1) existing methods merely adopt simple meta-path fusion rules, which might be insufficient to exclude inconsistent information of different meta-paths that may hurt model performance;2) the representative power is limited by shallow/stage-wise formulations. To solve these issues, we propose an end-to-end and unified embedding-based recommendation framework with graph-based learning. To address 1), we propose a flexible fusion module to integrate meta-path-based similarities into relative similarities between users and items. To address 2), we take advantage of the powerful representative ability of deep neural networks to learn more complicated and flexible latent embeddings. Finally, empirical studies on real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method. © 2021 ACM.

Advances in non-invasive neuroimaging, such as structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI), have en abled the construction of structural brain networks (SBNs), allowing in vivo mapping of anatomical connec tions. This study investigates brain network structural differences linked to different intelligence levels in children by individual morphometric similarity networks (MSNs) derived from sMRI data. Through group and individual-level analyses, we aim to uncover key topological features associated with cognitive perfor mance and to identify a suitable connection density for SBN analysis. Connection density strongly affects global and nodal topological features, with a range of p = 0.05 to 0.15 recommended for stable and optimal results. Gifted individuals exhibit stronger intra-hemispheric and intra-modular connectivity, a more balanced distribution of left-to-right intra-hemispheric connections, and lower mean versatility, supporting efficient and stable cognitive processing. Moreover, anatomical modularity analyses based on von Economo indicate that higher cognitive performance is linked to enhanced connectivity in specific areas (such as secondary sensory area, motor to association area and secondary sensory to limbic area), alongside selective reduction in cer tain modular connections (such as motor to insular area, association to secondary sensory area and motor to secondary sensory area). Furthermore, topological features, including participation coefficient and local effi ciency, are linked to cognitive performance. These findings provide valuable insights into the SBNs underlying cognitive levels in children. © 2025 by SCITEPRESS– Science and Technology Publications, Lda.

A high-order spatial filtering-symplectic finite difference time domain (SF-SFDTD) scheme with controllable stability condition is proposed to solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE). Firstly, the higher-order symplectic framework for the discretization of Schrödinger equation is described, and then the spatial filtering method is carried out to extend the stability of the standard SFDTD method. Finally, a numerical example is given to evaluate the correctness of the SF-SFDTD method in numerical solving Schrödinger equation.

Dual-State Personalized Knowledge Tracing with Emotional Incorporation

Knowledge tracing has been widely used in online learning systems to guide the students' future learning. However, most existing KT models primarily focus on extracting abundant information from the question sets and explore the relationships between them, but ignore the personalized student behavioral information in the learning process. This will limit the model's ability to accurately capture the personalized knowledge states of students and reasonably predict their performances. To alleviate this limitation, we explicitly models the personalized learning process by incorporating the emotions, a representative personalized behavior in the learning process, into KT framework. Specifically, we present a novel Dual-State Personalized Knowledge Tracing with Emotional Incorporation model to achieve this goal: Firstly, we incorporate emotional information into the modeling process of knowledge state, resulting in the Knowledge State Boosting Module. Secondly, we design an Emotional State Tracing Module to monitor students' personalized emotional states, and propose an emotion prediction method based on personalized emotional states. Finally, we apply the predicted emotions to enhance students' response prediction. Furthermore, to extend the generalization capability of our model across different datasets, we design a transferred version of DEKT, named Transfer Learningbased Self-loop model (T-DEKT). Cross-Modal Pre-Aligned Method with Global and Local Information for Remote-Sensing Image and Text Retrieval

In recent years, remote sensing cross-modal text-image retrieval (RSCTIR) has attracted considerable attention owing to its convenience and information mining capabilities. However, two significant challenges persist: effectively integrating global and local information during feature extraction due to substantial variations in remote sensing imagery, and the failure of existing methods to adequately consider feature pre-alignment prior to modal fusion, resulting in complex modal interactions that adversely impact retrieval accuracy and efficiency. To address these challenges, we propose a cross-modal pre-aligned method with global and local information (CMPAGL) for remote sensing imagery. Specifically, we design the Gswin transformer block, which introduces a global information window on top of the local window attention mechanism, synergistically combining local window self-attention and global-local window cross-attention to effectively capture multi-scale features of remote sensing images. Additionally, our approach incorporates a pre-alignment mechanism to mitigate the training difficulty of modal fusion, thereby enhancing retrieval accuracy. Moreover, we propose a similarity matrix reweighting (SMR) reranking algorithm to deeply exploit information from the similarity matrix during retrieval process. This algorithm combines forward and backward ranking, extreme difference ratio, and other factors to reweight the similarity matrix, thereby further enhancing retrieval accuracy. Finally, we optimize the triplet loss function by introducing an intra-class distance term for matched image-text pairs, not only focusing on the relative distance between matched and unmatched pairs but also minimizing the distance within matched pairs. Experiments on four public remote sensing text-image datasets, including RSICD, RSITMD, UCM-Captions, and Sydney-Captions, demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, achieving improvements over state-of-the-art methods, such as
