A novel miniaturized and low-profile FSS is presented for electromagnetic shielding, which consists of a layer of metal patch and a layer of dielectric substrate, resulting in a small unit and low profile with a thickness of only $0.0054\lambda$ , where $\lambda$ corresponds to the resonant frequency of the first operating band. Additionally, the folded structure not only reduces the unit size but also creates two stop bands, corresponding to around 7.7GHz and 16.7GHz. There is a low-insertion passband between the stopbands, which has a bandwdith of 2G Hz wide. The created FSS allows for signal transmission within the passband while it suppresses unrelated signals incident from both sides.

Multi-microgrid (MMG) systems offer notable advantages in terms of power sharing and mutual support when compared to individual microgrids (MGs). This paper presents a based on distributed event-triggered consensus strategy for optimizing the economic dispatch of multiple microgrids. The incorporation of the event-triggered mechanism into the multi-microgrid framework significantly reduces unnecessary communication among microgrids in contrast to the conventional time-triggered approach. For the multi-microgrid setup, a two-layer control strategy consisting of inter-microgrid and intra-microgrid layers is employed to achieve coherence by regulating the micro-incremental rates of distributed generation (DG) units. Leaderless event-triggered consistency is utilized for inter-microgrid coordination, while leader event-triggered consistency is implemented for intra-microgrid coordination, ultimately realizing the economic objective of minimizing the operational costs of the multi-microgrid system. Simulation results validate the efficacy of introducing the event-triggered mechanism and its impact on the economic dispatch of the multi-microgrid system.

Spring pair method of finding saddle points using the minimum energy path as a compass

Finding index-1 saddle points is crucial for understanding phase transitions. In this work, we propose a simple yet efficient approach, the spring pair method (SPM), to accurately locate saddle points. Without requiring the Hessian information, the SPM evolves a single pair of spring-coupled particles on an energy surface. By designing complementary drifting and climbing dynamics based on gradient decomposition, the spring pair converges onto the minimum energy path (MEP) and spontaneously aligns its orientation with the MEP tangent, providing a reliable ascent direction for efficient convergence to saddle points. The SPM fundamentally differs from traditional surface walking methods that rely on the eigenvectors of the Hessian, which may deviate from the MEP tangent and potentially lead to convergence failure or undesired saddle points. The efficiency of the SPM for finding saddle points is verified by ample examples, including Lennard-Jones clusters, Morse clusters, water clusters, and the Landau energy functional involving quasicrystal phase transitions.

With the development of distributed energy systems, pricing different energy sources in microgrids has become a significant challenge. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an real-time pricing method through market auction based on multi-agent reinforcement learning. The energy supply side provides different energy production and quotations, while consumers on the energy demand side freely quote and purchase the required energy in the energy market based on their own needs. The final transaction price of different energy sources is determined by the quotes of the buyer and seller who have reached the transaction. The simulation results indicate that the proposed pricing method have a good performance.

The paper introduces a microwave sensor based on split-ring resonators (SRR) for detecting the moisture content and spoilage of milk. This sensor is characterized by its simple structure and high sensitivity, utilizing SRR to enhance the local electric field intensity of the electromagnetic field. By measuring the transmission characteristics of microwave signals, it can accurately detect the moisture content and spoilage of milk samples. The sensor operates at a frequency of 6 GHz and has dimensions of 30×25×1.6 mm³. The study establishes the relationship between resonance frequency and water content in milk through simulated data, which provides an effective method for monitoring milk quality and holds potential applications in the food industry, contributing significantly to ensuring food safety.

In this paper, a deep learning optimization method combining U-net model and cycle generative adversarial network (Cycle-GAN) is proposed to efficiently solve the electromagnetic inverse scattering (EMIS) problems. Firstly, a U-net model is used to obtain a rough preliminary reconstruction. Through down-sampling and up-sampling processes, the basic features of the object are extracted and reconstructed from the measured scattered field, providing a coarse dielectric parameter distribution. Then, a Cycle-GAN model further refines the output of the U-net. The Cycle-GAN model, through its adversarial training mechanism involving a generator and a discriminator, enhances the details of the preliminary reconstruction, resulting in a finely detailed dielectric parameter distribution his method improves the problem of rough results obtained by using U-net method alone, and can effectively solve and optimize EMIS problems.

This paper addresses the complex nature of electric vehicles (EVs) as both transportation means and mobile loads, and proposes an optimal dispatching scheduling strategy for EVs in the coupled transportation network and power grid. Firstly, a dynamic traffic network model is established by utilizing a vast amount of real-world traffic data, including Origin-Destination (OD) information, battery states, and departure times. A graph theory-based analysis is then employed to determine the optimal paths for EVs in the traffic network. Secondly, the charging behavior of EVs is integrated with the power grid, and charge-discharge scheduling is conducted for charging stations to optimize the power grid load curve while meeting the charging demands of EVs. Additionally, adaptive electricity prices are formulated based on the power grid’s load generation through a dynamic pricing mechanism, further optimizing the charging strategy for EVs. Lastly, the impact of EV charging on the power grid load is analyzed by contrasting ordered and unordered charging and discharging modes. The research results demonstrate that the proposed optimal charging scheduling strategy for EVs in traffic-aware power grids can significantly reduce peak-valley differences in power grid load, enhance the economic and operational stability of the power grid, and effectively meet the charging demands of EV users. These findings provide valuable insights and promising potential for practical applications and widespread adoption.

Community detection is essential for identifying cohesive groups in complex networks. Artificial benchmarks are critical for evaluating community detection algorithms, offering controlled environments with known community structures. However, existing benchmarks mainly focus on homogeneous networks and overlook the unique characteristics of heterogeneous networks. This paper proposes a novel artificial benchmark, called ABCD-HN (Artificial Network Benchmark for Community Detection on Heterogeneous Networks), for community detection in heterogeneous networks. This benchmark enables the generation of artificial heterogeneous networks with controllable community quantity, node quantity, and community complexity. Additionally, an evaluation framework for artificial heterogeneous networks is proposed to assess their effectiveness. Drug-drug interaction (DDI) plays an increasingly crucial role in drug discovery. Predicting potential DDI is also essential for clinical research. Given the high cost and risk of wet-lab experiments, in-silico DDI prediction is an alternative choice. Recently, deep learning methods have been developed for DDI prediction. However, most of existing methods focus on feature extraction from either molecular SMILES sequences or drug interactive networks, ignoring the valuable complementary information that can be derived from these two views. In this paper, we propose a novel interpretable Multi-View Attention network (MVA-DDI) for DDI prediction. MVA-DDI can effectively extracts drug representations from different perspectives to improve DDI prediction. Specifically, for a given drug, we design a transformer-based encoder and a graph convolutional networkbased encoder to learn sequence and graph representations from SMILES sequence and molecular graph, respectively. To fully exploit the complementary information between the sequence and molecular views, an attention mechanism is further adopted to adaptively aggregate the sequence and graph representations by taking the importance of different views into accounts, generating the final drug representations. Comparison experiments demonstrated that our MVA-DDI1 model achieved superior performance to state-of-the-art models on DDI prediction. © 2023 IEEE.
