Recent deformable 3D Gaussians methods achieve high-quality reconstruction and real-time rendering. However, they require multi-view information and are not applicable to single-view dynamic scenes captured from mobile phones. Additionally, the high-dimensional hidden layer of deformation MLP and the excessive number of Gaussian primitives and attributes impose significant storage pressure, greatly limiting their practical application. To address the issues, we propose a novel Lightweight Deformable 3D Gaussians teacher-student framework. Specifically, we initialize Gaussian primitives with an initialization strategy designed for single-view scenes, and then optimize the teacher model using color and depth information. For the trained teacher model, we distill deformation MLP, prune Gaussian primitives and Gaussian attributes, and finally obtain a student model with low storage and high efficiency. Public benchmark experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework, showing a compression rate exceeding 4× while maintaining satisfactory rendering quality. Project page: https://***/ldg/.

Communities exist anywhere in various complex networks, and community evolution tracking is one of the most well-liked areas of inquiry in the study of dynamic complex networks. Community evolution tracking has many applications in daily life, such as predicting social network behaviors or analyzing the spread of infectious illnesses. However, the majority of existing evolution tracking algorithms obtain community detection results before matching the community in tracking evolution events, making it difficult to trace the whole evolution of communities because of community matching errors. In addition, the majority of evolution tracking algorithms do not adequately account for the potential scenarios in community evolution, resulting in erroneous detection of evolution events. In this research, a community evolution tracking algorithm based on edge variation discerning and core node extension is proposed. First, we detect communities based on the core node extension strategy, which avoids the problem of community matching errors. Second, we track community evolution based on the edge variation discerning strategy, which fully considers various situations that may occur during the community evolution process. While image-to-text models have demonstrated significant advancements in various vision-language tasks, they remain susceptible to adversarial attacks. Existing white-box attacks on image-to-text models require access to the architecture, gradients, and parameters of the target model, resulting in low practicality. Although the recently proposed gray-box attacks have improved practicality, they suffer from semantic loss during the training process, which limits their targeted attack performance. To advance adversarial attacks of image-to-text models, this paper focuses on a challenging scenario: decision-based black-box targeted attacks where the attackers only have access to the final output text and aim to perform targeted attacks. Specifically, we formulate the decision-based black-box targeted attack as a large-scale optimization problem. To efficiently solve the optimization problem, a three-stage process Ask, Attend, Attack, called AAA, is proposed to coordinate with the solver. Ask guides attackers to create target texts that satisfy the specific semantics. Attend identifies the crucial regions of the image for attacking, thus reducing the search space for the subsequent Attack. Attack uses an evolutionary algorithm to attack the crucial regions, where the attacks are semantically related to the target texts of Ask, thus achieving targeted attacks without semantic loss. Experimental results on transformer-based and CNN+RNN-based image-to-text models confirmed the effectiveness of our proposed AAA.

In this paper, we develop a set of efficient methods to compute stationary states of the spherical Landau-Brazovskii (LB) model in a discretization-then-optimization way. First, we discretize the spherical LB energy functional into a finite-dimensional energy function by the spherical harmonic expansion. Then five optimization methods are developed to compute stationary states of the discretized energy function, including the accelerated adaptive Bregman proximal gradient, Nesterov, adaptive Nesterov, adaptive nonlinear conjugate gradient and adaptive gradient descent methods. To speed up the convergence, we propose a principal mode analysis (PMA) method to estimate good initial configurations and sphere radius. The PMA method also reveals the relationship between the optimal sphere radius and the dominant degree of spherical harmonics. Numerical experiments show that our approaches significantly reduce the number of iterations and the computational time. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper presents a self-decoupling high isolation terminal antenna for mobile phones which can applied to 5G multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems. The significant decoupling effect is achieved by introducing only one ground point in each asymmetric antenna pair with an interval of very close (2mm). Through the simulations and optimizations, it can be obtained that the bandwidth of the two antennas is different owing-to the asymmetric structures of the constructed MIMO antenna. The -10 dB resonant frequency ranges of the two antennas are 4.65 - 5.17 GHz and 4.45 - 5.58 GHz, respectively, but the coincidence bandwidth of the two antennas covers the 5G band of 4.8 - 5 GHz, and the coupling of the proposed MIMO antenna in the same bandwidth is lower than -18dB as well.

In this paper, Q-value theory of conventional antennas is used to analyze reasons of low radiation performance of acoustics promoted antennas, where we modify the radiating structure of existing acoustics promoting antenna using the simulations to get the required improvement on radiation performance. The simulation experiments are carried out in the finite element simulation software Comsol Multiphysics to analyze the radiating performance.

X-shaped liquid crystalline molecules (XLCMs) are obtained by tethering two flexible end A-blocks and two flexible side B-blocks to a rigid backbone (R). A rich array of ordered structures can be formed from XLCMs, driven by the competition between the interactions between the chemically distinct blocks and the molecular connectivity. Here, we report a theoretical study on the phase behaviour of XLCMs with symmetric and asymmetric side blocks by using the self-consistent field theory (SCFT). A large number of ordered structures, including stable smectic-A, triangle-square, pentagon and giant polygon, are obtained as solutions of the SCFT equations. Phase diagrams of XLCMs as a function of the total length and asymmetric ratio of the side chains are constructed. For XLCMs with symmetric side blocks, the theoretically predicted phase transition sequence is in good agreement with experiments. For XLCMs with a fixed total side chain length, transitions between layered structure to polygonal phases, as well as between different polygonal phases, could be induced by varying the asymmetry of the side chains. The free energy density, domain size, side-chain stretching, and molecular orientation are analyzed to elucidate mechanisms stabilizing the different ordered phases. © 2024, CC BY.

In this study, we address the challenge of solving elliptic equations with quasiperiodic coefficients. To achieve accurate and efficient computation, we introduce the projection method, which enables the embedding of quasiperiodic systems into higher-dimensional periodic systems. To enhance the computational efficiency, we propose a compressed storage strategy for the stiffness matrix by its multi-level block circulant structure, significantly reducing memory requirements. Furthermore, we design a diagonal preconditioner to efficiently solve the resulting high-dimensional linear system by reducing the condition number of the stiffness matrix. These techniques collectively contribute to the computational effectiveness of our proposed approach. Convergence analysis shows the spectral accuracy of the proposed method. We demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of our approach through a series of numerical examples. Coherence-Based Distributed Document Representation Learning for Scientific Documents

Distributed document representation is one of the basic problems in natural language processing. Currently distributed document representation methods mainly consider the context information of words or sentences. These methods do not take into account the coherence of the document as a whole, e.g., a relation between the paper title and abstract, headline and description, or adjacent bodies in the document. The coherence shows whether a document is meaningful, both logically and syntactically, especially in scientific documents (papers or patents, etc.). In this paper, we propose a coupled text pair embedding (CTPE) model to learn the representation of scientific documents, which maintains the coherence of the document with coupled text pairs formed by segmenting the document. First, we divide the document into two parts (e.g., title and abstract, etc) which construct a coupled text pair. Then, we adopt negative sampling to construct uncoupled text pairs whose two parts are from different documents. Finally, we train the model to judge whether the text pair is coupled or uncoupled and use the obtained embedding of coupled text pairs as the embedding of documents. We perform experiments on three datasets for one information retrieval task and two recommendation tasks. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed CTPE model.
