The OPF system for renewable energy power has presented characteristics such as extremely high security constraints and more obvious multimodal properties, its solution is a challenging task and requires more efficient methods. In this paper, an enhanced flower pollination algorithm, EFPA-SF is proposed to solve the OPF problem. In EFPA-SF, there are four improvements: firstly, a random step size in the process of cross-pollination is proposed to improve the global search ability of EFPA-SF. Secondly, in the stage of self-pollination, the global optimal pollen is introduced to improve the ability of exploitation–exploration balance of the algorithm. In addition, if pollen individual crosses boundaries, boundary constraint is carried out by the previous position and boundary position of pollen, which is instrumental to escape from local optimum. Finally, the superiority of feasible solutions (SF) constraints handling method is integrated into the algorithm to satisfy the feasibility of the solutions. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the optimization capability of EFPA is first investigated and analyzed by using the most recent IEEE CEC2021 benchmark functions. Then, EFPA-SF is used to solve three engineering design problems and the performance is compared with the state-of-the-art algorithms, the validation results reveal that the proposed algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms, and demonstrate that it can be used for constrained optimization as well as for unconstrained optimization problems with good generality. Finally, EFA-SF is applied to the OPF problem on a modified IEEE-30 bus system that incorporates stochastic wind, solar, and small hydro power in addition to conventional thermal power generation. The comprehensive investigation reveals that EFA-SF can provide competitive solutions to the OPF problem compared to popular algorithms. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

We develop the broadband polarizers functioning in an extremely wide wavelength range from 0.3 to 5 μ m based on structural design and numerical simulation. The finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) method is a powerful and simple method for analyzing the electromagnetic structures. We propose a broadband polarizer using dual-layer metallic nanowire grids on a substrate, reflectance and transmittance are simulated by the FDFD method including normal incidence and oblique incidence. © 2019 IEEE.

Knowledge Graph is an important research field that involves the storage and management of knowledge, but the incompleteness and sparsity of Knowledge Graphs hinder their application in many fields. Knowledge Graph Reasoning aims to alleviate this problem by completing missing paths or identifying wrong paths between entities. Graph Convolution Network (GCN) based methods are one of the state-of-the-art approaches to this work. However, it is difficult to directly generalize to unknown nodes and utilizes valid information from the local neighborhood which results in poor flexibility and extensibility and will loss of important information. This paper presents EG-KGR, a plug-and-play knowledge reasoning model based on enhanced graph sampling and aggregate inductive learning algorithm to relieve the above problems and enhance existing GCN-based methods. Specifically, EG-KGR supports incremental characteristics, uses inductive learning to replace transductive learning, and designs random sampling and local information sampling optimization methods to improve the model's generalization ability, prediction accuracy, and running speed. Extensive experimental results show that our EG-KGR can achieve optimal results.

A UWB MIMO antenna based on angle diversity technology is proposed in this paper. This antenna integrates Vivaldi antenna and UWB slot antenna with a compact size of 26×26mm 2 , the difference of radiation pattern can realize lower coupling between different antenna units. Less than -19 dB isolation between different ports can be obtained through the whole UWB band (3.1-10.6GHz). In addition, the combination of one C-Shaped structure and two L-Shaped structures (CLL) avoids the interference of WLAN (5.125-5.825GHz) band. The proposed antenna has good performance, which is suitable for UWB communication system.

A notion of t-designs in the symmetric group on n letters, called permutation designs in this paper, was introduced by Godsil in 1988. With the popularity of monocular videos generated by video sharing and live broadcasting applications, reconstructing and editing dynamic scenes in stationary monocular cameras has become a special but anticipated technology. In contrast to scene reconstructions that exploit multi-view observations, the problem of modeling a dynamic scene from a single view is significantly more under-constrained and ill-posed. Inspired by recent progress in neural rendering, we present a novel framework to tackle 4D decomposition problem for dynamic scenes in monocular cameras. Our framework utilizes decomposed static and dynamic feature planes to represent 4D scenes and emphasizes the learning of dynamic regions through dense ray casting. Inadequate 3D clues from a single-view and occlusion are also particular challenges in scene reconstruction. To overcome these difficulties, we propose deep supervised optimization and ray casting strategies. With experiments on various videos, our method generates higher-fidelity results than existing methods for single-view dynamic scene representation. © 2024, CC BY.

In this paper, we present a capacitive proximity sensor (CPS) array for static gesture recognition and distance estimation. A 4×4 electrode matrix is employed as the sensing element that is configured to 14 electrode operation patterns to obtain 14 capacitive sensors to percept objects within their sensing region. These 14 capacitances are fused into one feature vector which is used as the input of machine learning (ML) classifier for gesture recognition and neural network or regression model for distance estimation. In our experiments, we selected 10 static gestures to verify the proposed method. We compared the performance of 8 ML classifiers and their variations with training data size. The results show that the Bagging achieves the highest average accuracy of 93.2% and the KNN shows a good performance even with a small training data size. The results in distance estimation experiment demonstrate that the RBF network performs a high accuracy. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Quasiperiodic systems are important space-filling ordered structures, without decay and translational invariance. How to solve quasiperiodic systems accurately and efficiently is of great challenge. A useful approach, the projection method (PM) [J. Comput. Phys., 256: 428, 2014], has been proposed to compute quasiperiodic systems. Various studies have demonstrated that the PM is an accurate and efficient method to solve quasiperiodic systems. However, there is a lack of theoretical analysis of PM. In this paper, we present a rigorous convergence analysis of the PM by establishing a mathematical framework of quasiperiodic functions and their high-dimensional periodic functions. We also give a theoretical analysis of quasiperiodic spectral method (QSM) based on this framework. Results demonstrate that PM and QSM both have exponential decay, and the QSM (PM) is a generalization of the periodic Fourier spectral (pseudo-spectral) method. Then we analyze the computational complexity of PM and QSM in calculating quasiperiodic systems. The PM can use fast Fourier transform, while the QSM cannot. Moreover, we investigate the accuracy and efficiency of PM, QSM and periodic approximation method in solving the linear time-dependent quasiperiodic Schrödinger equation. A novel structure based on the coplanar electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) power plane is proposed to realize the ultrawideband suppression of simultaneous switching noise (SSN). The proposed EBG structure is realized with a combination of L-shaped Bridge and slit EBG structure which is inserted by a complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). From the simulated results of the proposed EBG structure, a wideband suppression of SSN ranges from 340 MHz to 20 GHz is achieved with a high mitigation level of -40 dB. Compared with the earlier published structures, the suppression effect is greatly improved.

Attention-Guided Generative Adversarial Network for Whisper to Normal Speech Conversion

Whispered speech is a special way of pronunciation without using vocal cord vibration. A whispered speech does not contain a fundamental frequency, and its energy is about 20dB lower than that of a normal speech. Converting a whispered speech into a normal speech can improve speech quality and intelligibility. In this paper, a novel attention-guided generative adversarial network model incorporating an autoencoder, a Siamese neural network, and an identity mapping loss function for whisper to normal speech conversion (AGANW2SC) is proposed. The proposed method avoids the challenge of estimating the fundamental frequency of the normal voiced speech converted from a whispered speech. Specifically, the proposed model is more amendable to practical applications because it does not need to align speech features for training. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed AGANW2SC can obtain improved speech quality and intelligibility compared with dynamic-time-warping-based methods. Copyright © 2021, The Authors.
