Sentence alignment, as one of the most active and fundamental tasks in the field of natural language processing (NLP), is usually realized in two categories of methods. One is traditional methods which are firstly proposed, the other, which are adopted later, is based on the Neural Network method. Presently, under the limitation that the existing mainstream data corpora are mostly in the form of 1-to-1, the alignment models with relatively good performance mainly apply to the cases of 1-to-1 sentence alignment. However, under the circumstance that a sentence contains too much information, 1-to-N sentence alignment can actually have a better effect on sentence translation tasks, compared with the 1-to-1 form, since it is more flexible and can reduce the complexity of the original sentence. As a result, we attempt to exploit neural networks with relatively good performance in the cases of 1-to-1 to fit in the cases of 1-to-N. In this paper, a novel 1-N Bilingual word Embedding with Sentence Combination CNN Improved Framework (1-NBESCC) is proposed in order to align 1-to-N sentences more precisely. Experiments show that our proposed model performs as good as the traditional methods such as BLEUALIGN in 1-to-1 situation, but much better in 1-to-N situation.

The task of RGBT tracking aims to take the complementary advantages from visible spectrum and thermal infrared data to achieve robust visual tracking, and receives more and more attention in recent years. Existing works focus on modality-specific information integration by introducing modality weights to achieve adaptive fusion or learning robust feature representations of different modalities. Although these methods could effectively deploy the modality-specific properties, they ignore the potential values of modality-shared cues as well as instance-aware information, which are crucial for effective fusion of different modalities in RGBT tracking. In this paper, we propose a novel Multi-Adapter convolutional Network (MANet) to jointly perform modality-shared, modality-specific and instance-aware feature learning in an end-to-end trained deep framework for RGBT tracking. We design three kinds of adapters within our network. In a specific, the generality adapter is to extract shared object representations, the modality adapter aims at encoding modality-specific information to deploy their complementary advantages, and the instance adapter is to model the appearance properties and temporal variations of a certain object. Moreover, to reduce computational complexity for real-time demand of visual tracking, we design a parallel structure of generic adapter and modality adapter. Extensive experiments on two RGBT tracking benchmark datasets demonstrate the outstanding performance of the proposed tracker against other state-of-the-art RGB and RGBT tracking algorithms.

Proteins are ubiquitously modified with glycans of varied chemical structures through distinct glycosidic linkages, making the landscape of protein glycosylation challenging to map. Profiling of intact glycopeptides with mass spectrometry (MS) has recently emerged as a powerful tool for revealing matched information of the glycosylation sites and attached glycans (i.e., intact glycosites), but is largely limited to individual glycosylation types. Herein, we describe Click-iG, which integrates metabolic labeling of glycans with clickable unnatural sugars, an optimized MS method, and a tailored version of pGlyco3 software to enable simultaneous enrichment and profiling of three types of intact glycopeptides: N-linked, mucin-type O-linked, and O-GlcNAcylated glycopeptides. We demonstrate the utility of Click-iG by the identification of thousands of intact glycosites in cell lines and living mice. From the mouse lung, heart, and spleen, a total of 2053 intact N-glycosites, 262 intact O-GalNAc glycosites, and 1947 O-GlcNAcylation sites were identified. Click-iG-enabled comprehensive coverage of the protein glycosylation landscape lays the foundation for interrogating crosstalk between different glycosylation pathways.

Algebraic multigrid block preconditioning for multi-group radiation diffusion equations

The paper focuses on developing and studying efficient block preconditioners based on classical algebraic multigrid for the large-scale sparse linear systems arising from the fully coupled and implicitly cell-centered finite volume discretization of multi-group radiation diffusion equations, whose coefficient matrices can be rearranged into the (G + 2) × (G + 2) block form, where G is the number of energy groups. The preconditioning techniques are based on the monolithic classical algebraic multigrid method, physical-variable based coarsening two-level algorithm and two types of block Schur complement preconditioners. The classical algebraic multigrid is applied to solve the subsystems that arise in the last three block preconditioners. The coupling strength and diagonal dominance are further explored to improve performance. We use representative one-group and twenty-group linear systems from capsule implosion simulations to test the robustness, efficiency, strong and weak parallel scaling properties of the proposed methods. Numerical results demonstrate that block preconditioners lead to mesh- and problem-independent convergence, and scale well both algorithmically and in parallel. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Object tracking by the least spatiotemporal searches

Tracking a suspicious car or a person in a city efficiently is crucial in urban safety management. But how can we complete the task with the minimal number of spatiotemporal searches when massive camera records are involved? To this end, this study proposes a strategy named intermediate searching at heuristic moments (IHMs). At each step, we determine which moment is the best one for the search based on a heuristic indicator. Then, at that moment, locations are searched one by one in descending order of predicted appearing probabilities until a search hit is obtained. We iterate this step until we derive the object's current location. Five searching strategies are compared via experiments. Among these strategies, the IHMs strategy is validated as the most efficient. IHMs can save up to 1/3 of the total cost. This result provides evidence that "searching at intermediate moments can save cost. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Design of Filtering Power Divider with Wide Stopband Based on QMSIW

A miniaturized filtering power divider with wide stopband based on quarter-mode substrate integrated waveguide (QMSIW) is proposed. The physical size of the QMSIW is reduced by 3/4 comparing with the traditional SIW structure, which can achieve miniaturization, and its electromagnetic field distribution has little effect. Using the metal interference column and the etched U-shaped groove to adjust the resonance frequency, so that the main mode and the first higher mode form a passband, meanwhile, suppressing the second higher mode. The simulation results show that the center frequency is 4.42 GHz with insertion loss of 0.45 dB, the 3-dB bandwidth is 4.12-4.63 GHz with a fractional bandwidths of 9.7%, and there is a great stopband up to 11 GHz with 15 dB rejection level. Besides, the return loss of passband is better than 17.5 dB. To verify the validity of this design, a prototype is fabricated and measured. The measured results demonstrate that it has a good agreement with the design simulations.

An improved reversible data hiding in encrypted images using parametric binary tree labeling

This work proposes an improved reversible data hiding scheme in encrypted images using parametric binary tree labeling(IPBTL-RDHEI), which takes advantage of the spatial correlation in the entire original image but not in small image blocks to reserve room for hiding data. Then the original image is encrypted with an encryption key and the parametric binary tree is used to label encrypted pixels into two different categories. Finally, one of the two categories of encrypted pixels can embed secret information by bit replacement. According to the experimental results, compared with several state-of-the-art methods, the proposed IPBTL-RDHEI method achieves higher embedding rate and outperforms the competitors. Due to the reversibility of IPBTL-RDHEI, the original plaintext image and the secret information can be restored and extracted losslessly and separately. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. A general construction and encoder implementation of polar codes

Similar to existing codes, puncturing and shortening are two general ways to obtain an arbitrary code length and code rate for polar codes. When some of the coded bits are punctured or shortened, it is equivalent to a situation in which the underlying channels of the polar codes are different. Therefore, the quality of bit channels with puncturing or shortening differ from the original qualities, which can greatly affect the construction of polar codes. In this paper, a general construction of polar codes is studied in two aspects: 1) the theoretical foundation of the construction;and 2) the hardware implementation of polar codes encoders. In contrast to the original identical and independent binary-input, memoryless, symmetric (BMS) channels, these underlying BMS channels can be different. For binary erasure channel (BEC) channels, recursive equations can be employed assuming independent BMS channels. For all other channel types, the proposed general construction of polar codes is based on the existing Tal-Vardy's procedure. The symmetric property and the degradation relationship are shown to be preserved under the general setting, rendering the possibility of a modification of Tal-Vardy's procedure. Simulation results clearly show improved error performance with re-ordering using the proposed new procedures. In terms of hardware, a novel pruned folded encoder architecture is proposed which saves the computation for the beginning frozen bits. Implementation results show the pruned encoder achieve 28% throughput improvement. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Recent whole brain mapping projects are collecting large-scale 3D images using powerful and informative modalities, such as STPT, fMOST, VISoR, or MRI. Registration of these multi-dimensional whole-brain images onto a standard atlas is essential for characterizing neuron types and constructing brain wiring diagrams. However, cross-modality image registration is challenging due to intrinsic variations of brain anatomy and artifacts resulted from different sample preparation methods and imaging modalities. We introduced a cross-modality registration method, called mBrainAligner, which uses coherent landmark mapping as well as deep neural networks to align whole mouse brain images to the standard Allen Common Coordinate Framework atlas. We also built a single cell resolution atlas using the fMOST modality, and used our method to generate whole brain map of 3D full single neuron morphology and neuron cell types. © 2021, CC BY.

When using traditional image search engines, smartphone users often complain about their poor user interface including poor user experience,and weak interaction. Moreover, users are unable to find a desired picture partly due to the unclear key words. This paper proposes the word-bag co-occurrence scheme by defining the correlation between images. Through exploratory search, the search range can be expanded and help users refine retrieval of the expected images. Firstly, the proposed scheme applied the bag of visual words(BoVW) vector by processing images on Hadoop. Secondly, similarity matrix was constructed to organize the image data. Finally, the images in which users were interested was visually displayed on the android mobile phone via exploratory search. Comparing the proposed method to current methods by testing with image data sets on ImageNet, the experimental results show that the former is superior to the latter on visual representation, and the proposed scheme can provide a better user experience.
