We present the excellent student training scheme in shielding effectiveness analysis with international cooperation of Belarus. As we know, the shielding is vital for modern information devices due to the radiating around us. Herein, the shielding effectiveness is important for training excellent students to master the design of the frequency selective components. In this method, we teach the students to use the EM simulation tools to construct different EM structures for obtaining the shielding, and the performance of these structures are verified from the simulations and measurements. Using this shielding effectiveness training scheme, a frequency selective surface is presented, simulated and discussed to analyze its performance. In future, the excellent student training methods given herein for shielding effectiveness can be expanded to develop other EM structures. © 2022 IEEE.

Diffusion models are powerful generative models, and this capability can also be applied to discrimination. The inner activations of a pre-trained diffusion model can serve as features for discriminative tasks, namely, diffusion feature. We discover that diffusion feature has been hindered by a hidden yet universal phenomenon that we call content shift. To be specific, there are content differences between features and the input image, such as the exact shape of a certain object. We locate the cause of content shift as one inherent characteristic of diffusion models, which suggests the broad existence of this phenomenon in diffusion feature. Further empirical study also indicates that its negative impact is not negligible even when content shift is not visually perceivable. Hence, we propose to suppress content shift to enhance the overall quality of diffusion features. Specifically, content shift is related to the information drift during the process of recovering an image from the noisy input, pointing out the possibility of turning off-the-shelf generation techniques into tools for content shift suppression. We further propose a practical guideline named GATE to efficiently evaluate the potential benefit of a technique and provide an implementation of our methodology. Despite the simplicity, the proposed approach has achieved superior results on various tasks and datasets, validating its potential as a generic booster for diffusion features. A novel millimeter wave sensing antenna array is proposed for application in miniature detection and sensing devices suitable for operating in multiple scenarios, e.g., collecting in the face of video and infrared, and other device materials in complex electromagnetic environments to achieve delightful sensing results. The proposed antenna array is designed to work at 30 GHz which is considered to integrate the optical devices and millimeter radar together by using a number of holes in the millimeter antenna array. Two different excitation modes are considered in the constructed design, where many holes are installed in the millimeter array, which aims to integrate the optical imaging cameras. In this design, the presented array serves as a radar to detect and get sensing results. Since the optical components are not metal and have a little effect on the performance of the antenna array, we use the holes to model the optical cameras to investigate the performance of the radiation patterns and impedance bandwidth.

A beamforming microstrip array antenna for K-band is proposed. The antenna array is a 4*4 array, the array elements are composed of slotted rectangular microstrip antennas, and the feed network is a combination of series and parallel connections. The beamforming is achieved by using a microstrip phase shift network. The design results show that the VSWR of the antenna array is less than 1.8dB in the operating frequency bandwidth of 24.0 GHz-24.5 GHz. This antenna array can achieve a gain of more than 7.6dB in the beam range of 22.5° azimuth and 30^° pitch.

Considering the characteristics of electromagnetic scattering of radar observation targets, it is possible to introduce compressed sensing theory into computational imaging. For the sparse undersampling problem of scene data, it is required to achieve higher reconstruction accuracy with lower complexity. However, it is often difficult to construct and solve the sparse representation dictionary in complex scenarios, and it is difficult to fully exploit the correlation and sparsity between data. In addition, the design of observation matrix and reconstruction algorithm is also difficult. In this paper, the imaging problem is modeled as an inverse scattering problem based on the mathematical model of metasurface antenna imaging, and the feasibility of the near-field computational imaging method of generative adversarial network is analyzed from the perspective of solving the inverse problem. Using the measured radiation field data to conduct imaging experiments, the network can reconstruct the imaging target quickly and with high quality under the condition of low scene compressed ratio, which verifies the effectiveness and robustness of the method.

A compact coplanar waveguide multiband antenna based on an open resonant ring is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna is fabricated on FR-4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4 and a small size of 23 × 23 × 1.6mm 3 . In the design process of the antenna, the deformed circular split ring metamaterial (RSRR) is introduced to realize the broadband and multi frequency characteristics of the antenna. The two frequency bands of the antenna are 2.91-3.63GHz (relative bandwidth 22%), 4.19-9.32GHz (relative bandwidth 75.9%), covering WiMax (3.4/5.5GHz), lower C-band (4.41GHz), upper C-band (6.9GHz), WLAN (5.4/5.8GHz), lower X-band (8.7GHz) wireless standards, S11 ≤ -10dB. High frequency structure simulator (HFSS) is used to simulate the antenna structure, which has uniform radiation characteristics.

In reality, galleries usually display paintings in a protective manner, partly to delay the damage to the original artwork and ensure the long-term preservation of the artwork. On the other hand, it also hinders visitors’ deep appreciation and learning of the artwork. In the face of this challenge, our research aims to provide users with immersive viewing and entertainment, as well as interactive gaming experiences with artwork, through the use of virtual reality technology. So the paper proposes PaintingScapeVR, which is based on a virtual gallery and reproduces the three-dimensional scenes corresponding to different paintings. Visitors can freely explore in this virtual environment and gain a deeper understanding of the meaning and artistic value of artworks through interaction with them. Our results indicate that the reproduction of 3D scenes and gamified interactive design can not only significantly enhance visitors’ appreciation of painting art, but also leave a deeper learning impression. This immersive experience stimulates visitors’ desire to appreciate and explore, prompting them to actively delve into the background and techniques of art works, thereby enhancing their artistic appreciation abilities. An ultra-wideband filter with wide stopband performance with single notch using E-shaped resonator is proposed. Based on a U-shaped MMR structure loaded by an open-circuited stub connected at its center, the loaded basic open-stub structure can generate transmission zeros on both sides of the passband to improve the in-band selectivity. Meanwhile, the symmetrical U-shaped open stub introduced not only strengthens the out-of-band suppression ability, but also optimizes the lower stopband. To suppress the in-band interference phenomenon, the proposed UWB BPF used E-shaped resonator coupled to the main transmission line of the basic UWB BPF to generate a notch band at 8GHz (Satellite communications X band). The filter has passband from 2.74 GHz to 11.5 GHz, the insertion loss is lower than 0.6dB and the filter has a relative high selectivity (30dB skirt factor is 0.891), Meanwhile, the filter has a wide stopband of up to 20.8GHz ($S21 \lt -20$dB).

Diffusion models are initially designed for image generation. Recent research shows that the internal signals within their backbones, named activations, can also serve as dense features for various discriminative tasks such as semantic segmentation. Given numerous activations, selecting a small yet effective subset poses a fundamental problem. To this end, the early study of this field performs a large-scale quantitative comparison of the discriminative ability of the activations. However, we find that many potential activations have not been evaluated, such as the queries and keys used to compute attention scores. Moreover, recent advancements in diffusion architectures bring many new activations, such as those within embedded ViT modules. Both combined, activation selection remains unresolved but overlooked. To tackle this issue, this paper takes a further step with a much broader range of activations evaluated. Considering the significant increase in activations, a full-scale quantitative comparison is no longer operational. Instead, we seek to understand the properties of these activations, such that the activations that are clearly inferior can be filtered out in advance via simple qualitative evaluation. After careful analysis, we discover three properties universal among diffusion models, enabling this study to go beyond specific models. On top of this, we present effective feature selection solutions for several popular diffusion models. Finally, the experiments across multiple discriminative tasks validate the superiority of our method over the SOTA competitors. Fine-tuning pre-trained language models, such as BERT, has shown enormous success among various NLP tasks. Though simple and effective, the process of fine-tuning has been found unstable, which often leads to unexpected poor performance. To increase stability and generalizability, most existing works resort to maintaining the parameters or representations of pre-trained models during fine-tuning. Nevertheless, very little work explores mining the reliable part of pre-learned information that can help to stabilize fine-tuning. To address this challenge, we introduce a novel solution in which we fine-tune BERT with stabilized cross-layer mutual information. Our method aims to preserve the reliable behaviors of cross-layer information propagation, instead of preserving the information itself, of the pre-trained model. Therefore, our method circumvents the domain conflicts between pre-trained and target tasks. We conduct extensive experiments with popular pre-trained BERT variants on NLP datasets, demonstrating the universal effectiveness and robustness of our method. © 2023 IEEE.
