Developing a clean and efficient Integrated Energy System (IES) is critical to optimizing the use of renewable energy sources and harnessing new forms of energy to achieve the country's 2030 carbon peak and 2060 carbon neutrality targets. Existing natural gas pipelines in China facilitate the transport of hydrogen blended into the natural gas network and offer the possibility of storing hydrogen blended into natural gas pipelines. This paper proposes an optimal integrated energy dispatch strategy based on electricity-gas-hydrogen-heat-cooling demand, taking into account carbon emissions and economic efficiency, where renewable energy is no longer connected to the grid or stored in batteries, but converted to hydrogen mixed into the natural gas grid for transport and storage, with the economic objective of minimizing the total IES operating cost, the wind and light abandonment cost and the carbon emission cost. The CPLEX solver is used to solve the problem, and the feasibility of the proposed model is verified by simulation results, which promotes the consumption of renewable and clean energy. © 2023 IEEE.

Most of existing studies on neural network pruning only consider memory-based pruning strategies. However pruning for computational workload is often more important in hardware deployments due to a greater focus on model computation reductions. In addition, most pruning schemes restore model accuracy during pruning at the expense of adding hyperparameters, extending training time and training complexity. This work proposes a statistical-based globally soft iterative pruning scheme. With little extra calculation, an extremely sparse model can be obtained without additional hyperparameters and extended training time. Moreover, this work proposes the concept of computational intensity to balance model memory and computational workload during pruning. Focusing on memory orientated pruning, we can achieve 303×, 100× and 25× parameter compression on LeNet-5 (MNIST), VGG (CIFAR-10) and AlexNet (ImageNet) models, respectively. In particular, combined with cluster quantization, the LeNet-5 model parameters can be compressed to 3232×. Focusing on workload orientated pruning, we can reduce the computation by 7}.6× on the AlexNet model, without accuracy loss, significantly higher than prior work. In addition, in order to verify the versatility of the pruning method, we also migrate the pruning task to the object detection and implement 10× parameter compression and 2.8× computation compression for YOLOv2 with reduced mAP within 1%. © 2023 IEEE.

CPAL: Cross-prompting Adapter with LoRAs for RGB+X Semantic Segmentation

As sensor technology evolves, RGB+X systems combine traditional RGB cameras with another type of auxiliary sensor, which enhances perception capabilities and provides richer information for important tasks such as semantic segmentation. However, acquiring massive RGB+X data is difficult due to the need for specific acquisition equipment. Therefore, traditional RGB+X segmentation methods often perform pretraining on relatively abundant RGB data. However, these methods lack corresponding mechanisms to fully exploit the pretrained model, and the scope of the pretraining RGB dataset remains limited. Recent works have employed prompt learning to tap into the potential of pretrained foundation models, but these methods adopt a unidirectional prompting approach i.e., using X or RGB+X modality to prompt pretrained foundation models in RGB modality, neglecting the potential in non-RGB modalities. In this paper, we are dedicated to developing the potential of pretrained foundation models in both RGB and non-RGB modalities simultaneously, which is non-trivial due to the semantic gap between modalities. Specifically, we present the CPAL (Cross-prompting Adapter with LoRAs), a framework that features a novel bi-directional adapter to simultaneously fully exploit the complementarity and bridging the semantic gap between modalities. Additionally, CPAL introduces low-rank adaption (LoRA) to fine-tune the foundation model of each modal. With the support of these elements, we have successfully unleashed the potential of RGB foundation models in both RGB and non-RGB modalities simultaneously. Our method achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance on five multi-modal benchmarks, including RGB+Depth, RGB+Thermal, RGB+Event, and a multi-modal video object segmentation benchmark, as well as four multi-modal salient object detection benchmarks. With the development of distributed energy systems, pricing different energy sources in microgrids has become a significant challenge. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an real-time pricing method through market auction based on multi-agent reinforcement learning. The energy supply side provides different energy production and quotations, while consumers on the energy demand side freely quote and purchase the required energy in the energy market based on their own needs. The final transaction price of different energy sources is determined by the quotes of the buyer and seller who have reached the transaction. The simulation results indicate that the proposed pricing method have a good performance. © 2023 IEEE.

NONMONOTONE LOCAL MINIMAX METHODS FOR FINDING MULTIPLE SADDLE POINTS

In this paper,by designing a normalized nonmonotone search strategy with the BarzilaiBorwein-type step-size,a novel local minimax method(LMM),which is a globally convergent iterative method,is proposed and analyzed to find multiple(unstable)saddle points of nonconvex functionals in Hilbert *** to traditional LMMs with monotone search strategies,this approach,which does not require strict decrease of the objective functional value at each iterative step,is observed to converge faster with less ***,based on a normalized iterative scheme coupled with a local peak selection that pulls the iterative point back onto the solution submanifold,by generalizing the Zhang-Hager(ZH)search strategy in the optimization theory to the LMM framework,a kind of normalized ZH-type nonmonotone step-size search strategy is introduced,and then a novel nonmonotone LMM is *** feasibility and global convergence results are rigorously carried out under the relaxation of the monotonicity for the functional at the iterative ***,in order to speed up the convergence of the nonmonotone LMM,a globally convergent Barzilai-Borwein-type LMM(GBBLMM)is presented by explicitly constructing the Barzilai-Borwein-type step-size as a trial step-size of the normalized ZH-type nonmonotone step-size search strategy in each ***,the GBBLMM algorithm is implemented to find multiple unstable solutions of two classes of semilinear elliptic boundary value problems with variational structures:one is the semilinear elliptic equations with the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and another is the linear elliptic equations with semilinear Neumann boundary *** numerical results indicate that our approach is very effective and speeds up the LMMs significantly.

From Static to Dynamic: Adapting Landmark-Aware Image Models for Facial Expression Recognition in Videos

Dynamic facial expression recognition (DFER) in the wild is still hindered by data limitations, e.g., insufficient quantity and diversity of pose, occlusion and illumination, as well as the inherent ambiguity of facial expressions. In contrast, static facial expression recognition (SFER) currently shows much higher performance and can benefit from more abundant high-quality training data. Moreover, the appearance features and dynamic dependencies of DFER remain largely unexplored. Recognizing the potential in leveraging SFER knowledge for DFER, we introduce a novel Static-to-Dynamic model (S2D) that leverages existing SFER knowledge and dynamic information implicitly encoded in extracted facial landmark-aware features, thereby significantly improving DFER performance. Firstly, we build and train an image model for SFER, which incorporates a standard Vision Transformer (ViT) and Multi-View Complementary Prompters (MCPs) only. Then, we obtain our video model (i.e., S2D), for DFER, by inserting Temporal-Modeling Adapters (TMAs) into the image model. MCPs enhance facial expression features with landmark-aware features inferred by an off-the-shelf facial landmark detector. And the TMAs capture and model the relationships of dynamic changes in facial expressions, effectively extending the pre-trained image model for videos. Notably, MCPs and TMAs only increase a fraction of trainable parameters (less than +10%) to the original image model. Moreover, we present a novel Emotion-Anchors (i.e., reference samples for each emotion category) based Self-Distillation Loss to reduce the detrimental influence of ambiguous emotion labels, further enhancing our S2D. Experiments conducted on popular SFER and DFER datasets show that we have achieved a new state of the art. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce some approximation properties of a Kantorovich kind q-Bernstein operators related to B′ezier basis functions with shape parameterλ∈[−1,1].Firstly,we compute some basic results such as moments and central moments,and derive the Korovkin type approximation theorem for these ***,we estimate the order of convergence in terms of the usual modulus of continuity,for the functions belong to Lipschitz-type class and Peetre’s K-functional,***,with the aid of Maple software,we present the comparison of the convergence of these newly defined operators to the certain function with some graphical illustrations and error estimation table.

The investigation of the optoelectronic characteristics of all-perovskite tandem solar cells holds pivotal significance in surpassing the Shockley-Queisser limit of single-junction perovskite solar cells. Initially, we established two distinct four-terminal tandem solar cells (4T TSCs) composed of different perovskite materials: FA0.8Cs0.2Pb(I0.7Br0.3)3 (Eg = 1.75 eV) and MASnI3 (Eg = 1.3 eV). Through numerical simulations of the optoelectronic characteristics of 4T TSCs, we evaluated the performance of the TSCs at varying perovskite layer thicknesses. Following optimization, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the 4T TSCs increased from the initial 30.34% to 33.54%. Through an in-depth analysis of the cell and energy distribution in TSCs, it was observed that the light-coupling layer significantly influenced the PCE of the 4T TSCs. Upon optimizing the light-coupling layer, the PCE of the TSC increased from the initial 30.34% to 34.7%. This study provides crucial theoretical and experimental foundations for optimizing the performance of all-perovskite TSCs. © 2024 IEEE.

Continual Semantic Segmentation (CSS) aims to continuously learn new classes while mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Existing CSS methods primarily address this challenge through knowledge distillation. While they focus on maintaining stability for old classes, this emphasis often restricts plasticity in learning new ones. In this work, we propose two plug-and-play methods to better balance stability and plasticity. First, for feature map distillation, we replace pixel-level constraints with statistical information extraction within a window, improving the learning of new classes while preserving structural integrity to overcome forgetting. Second, we use relative ranks of predictions to replace exact probabilistic values to loosen the constraints in the logit distribution of old classes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our methods outperform state-of-the-art methods when integrating into several baselines across various CSS scenarios. © 2025 IEEE.
