Linz Donawitz converter gas (LDG) is an important secondary energy source in iron and steel enterprises. The accurate prediction of converter gas holder level is of great significance for the optimal scheduling of the LDG systems. Considering that there are multi-operating conditions caused by the affection of different gas holders from each other in a multiple gas holders system, this paper proposes a mechanism and data-based converter gas holder level prediction method, in which via physical mechanism analysis the operating conditions as well as their switching logics are built according to different pressures in each gas holder and valve states. Then, the least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) is employed to establish gas holders level prediction models for each operating condition. The actual operation data in an iron and steel plant of China are employed for simulation experiments. The results show that the proposed method not only can effectively identify the operating conditions of dual gas holders system, but also can achieve higher prediction accuracies compared to those of other prediction methods, providing effective guidance for the scheduling of the LDG systems. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Gas-phase polyethylene(PE)processes are among the most important methods for PE production.A deeper understanding of the process characteristics and dynamic behavior,such as properties of PE and reactor stability,holds substantial interest for both academic researchers and *** this study,both steady-state and dynamic models for a gas-phase polyethylene process are established as a simulation platform,which can be used to study a variety of operation tasks for commercial solution polyethylene processes,such as new product development,process control and real-time *** copolymerization kinetic parameters are fitted by industrial ***,a multi-reactor series model is developed to characterize the temperature distribution within the fluidized bed *** accuracy in predicting melt index and density of the polymer,and the dynamic behavior of the developed models are verified by real plant ***,the dynamic simulation platform is applied to compare four practical control schemes for reactor temperature by a series of simulation experiments,since temperature control is important in industrial *** results reveal that all four schemes effectively track the setpoint ***,only the demineralized water temperature cascade control demonstrates excellent performance in handling disturbances from both the recycle gas subsystem and the heat exchange subsystem.

Predefined-Time Distributed Fault-Tolerant control for Nonlinear Multiagent Systems Suffering From Nonaffine Faults

This article investigates the distributed predefined-time (PT) fault-tolerant control for nonlinear multiagent systems (NNMSs) with nonaffine faults. A novel distributed PT control scheme is proposed based on a new PT theorem. The switching functions are introduced into distributed control signals to avoid the singularity problem. The second-order filter technology is designed to solve "explosion of complexity" issues. The newly designed PT compensation signals are utilized to eliminate filter errors. The proposed distributed PT controller based on local information can guarantee that all signals of the closed-loop system are PT bounded, and consensus errors of NNMSs can be enforced to a small region around the origin within a predefined time. Compared with the finite/fixed time, the predefined time is an exact value given in advance, which remains constant regardless of initial states and control parameters. Finally, two comparative simulations are provided to demonstrate the presented strategy. © 2013 IEEE.

Transmission-Constrained Consensus of Multiagent Networks

This article studies the consensus problem for multiagent systems with transmission constraints. A novel model of multiagent systems is proposed where the information transmissions between agents are disturbed by irregular distortions or interferences (named transmission constraint functions), and this model is universal which can be applied in many cases, such as interval consensus and discarded consensus. In the transmission-constrained consensus problem, we obtain the necessary and sufficient condition that agents can converge to state consensus. Furthermore, a more general case is studied in which the system reaches an equilibrium. Based on some techniques of stability theory, the existence, uniqueness, and stability of the system equilibrium point can be proven, which means the system can reach an asymptotically stable equilibrium. Moreover, the state values of the equilibrium are only decided by the network structure and transmission constraint functions but not the agents' initial states. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the proposed theorems and corollaries. © 2014 IEEE.

Learning-based tracking control of AUV:Mixed policy improvement and game-based disturbance rejection

A mixed adaptive dynamic programming(ADP)scheme based on zero-sum game theory is developed to address optimal control problems of autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV)systems subject to disturbances and safe *** combining prior dynamic knowledge and actual sampled data,the proposed approach effectively mitigates the defect caused by the inaccurate dynamic model and significantly improves the training speed of the ADP ***,the dataset is enriched with sufficient reference data collected based on a nominal model without considering modelling ***,the control object interacts with the real environment and continuously gathers adequate sampled data in the *** comprehensively leverage the advantages of model-based and model-free methods during training,an adaptive tuning factor is introduced based on the dataset that possesses model-referenced information and conforms to the distribution of the real-world environment,which balances the influence of model-based control law and data-driven policy gradient on the direction of policy *** a result,the proposed approach accelerates the learning speed compared to data-driven methods,concurrently also enhancing the tracking performance in comparison to model-based control ***,the optimal control problem under disturbances is formulated as a zero-sum game,and the actor-critic-disturbance framework is introduced to approximate the optimal control input,cost function,and disturbance policy,***,the convergence property of the proposed algorithm based on the value iteration method is ***,an example of AUV path following based on the improved line-of-sight guidance is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The need for better search and rescue capabilities has led to the increased demand for collaborative aerial-ground multi-robot deployments. However, most existing solutions require high communication bandwidth or bulky sensor equipment that is not suitable especially for aerial robots. To make the execution of these tasks more efficient, this paper proposes an angle-specified heterogeneous leader-follower formation framework consisting of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying in a 3D space and ground robots moving in a 2D plane. The UAVs are controlled to maintain a desired angle-specified formation with the first three UAVs as the leaders forming a triangular shape and the remaining UAVs as the followers. The follower UAVs only need direction measurements to track the leader UAVs. For the ground robots, two leader robots track the UAV group and determine the orientation and scale of the ground formation, while the follower robots track the leader robots using only direction measurements. The proposed heterogeneous formation framework is energy-efficient as most robots only require low-cost and lightweight direction measurements. The stability of the proposed formation control algorithms is proved and validated through various physical application experiments. IEEE

A discrete-time looped functional approach and its application to discrete-time systems with cyclically varying delays

This paper investigates the stability analysis problem of discrete-time systems with cyclically varying *** previous studies, the delay investigated in this paper cyclically alternates between increasing and decreasing changes within its upper and lower bounds. First, to reasonably describe the cyclic variation characteristics of the delay, a discretetime looped functional(DTLF) approach and a refined allowable delay set(ADS) are proposed. Then, based on the constructed DTLF with delay-product terms and using matrix-separation-based inequality to estimate its forward difference,delay-variation-interval-dependent stability conditions considering two different ADSs are derived. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the obtained conditions are demonstrated through two numerical examples.
