The control objective of Pendubot is to stabilise the system in a vertically upward position by swinging up from a vertically downward position. Facing various physical constraints in practical applications, this paper proposes a swing-up stabil-isation control strategy based on a nonlinear model prediction method to accomplish the above control objective. On the basis of the system dynamics model, the forward Euler method is used to construct a nonlinear prediction model of the system. According to the control objectives and physical constraints of the system, the performance index function is designed, and then the control inputs of each sampling cycle are obtained through rolling optimisation and feedback correction, so that the system state gradually converges to the target trajectory, thus achieving the motion control objective. Based on the simulation results, it can be seen that the strategy proposed in this paper is efficient and robust under external disturbances.

Direct current (DC) motors are one of the most important kind of motors and are widely used in robotic and industrial applications. Recently, there have been significant efforts to develop direct current (DC) motors in an attempt to control speed of motors. However, conventional controlling approaches perform undesirably in terms of stability and quick response. Therefore, this paper presents a hybrid intelligent controller configuration for optimized speed control of brushless direct current (BLDC) motors in a factory supervisory control data acquisition (SCADA) system. We compare this hybrid intelligent controller with a conventional PID controller, fuzzy logic controller (FLC), and artificial neural network model reference controller (ANNMRC) in MATLAB , and the results show that the hybrid (neuro-fuzzy) controller performs superior in terms of stability, speed trajectory tracking capability, fast response, and simplicity for implementation.

This paper considers distributed online convex optimization with adversarial constraints. In this setting, a network of agents makes decisions at each round, and then only a portion of the loss function and a coordinate block of the constraint function are privately revealed to each agent. The loss and constraint functions are convex and can vary arbitrarily across rounds. The agents collaborate to minimize network regret and cumulative constraint violation. A novel distributed online algorithm is proposed and it achieves an O(T max{c,1−c}) network regret bound and an O(T 1−c/2) network cumulative constraint violation bound, where T is the number of rounds and c ∈ (0, 1) is a user-defined trade-off parameter. When Slater’s condition holds (i.e, there is a point that strictly satisfies the inequality constraints), the network cumulative constraint violation bound is reduced to O(T 1−c). Moreover, if the loss functions are strongly convex, then the network regret bound is reduced to O(log(T)), and the network cumulative constraint violation bound is reduced to O(√log(T)T) and O(log(T)) without and with Slater’s condition, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, this paper is the first to achieve reduced (network) cumulative constraint violation bounds for (distributed) online convex optimization with adversarial constraints under Slater’s condition. In this paper, the problem of mean square exponential stabilization for sampled-data Markovin jump systems is studied. A time-scheduled Lyapunov functional consisting of a exponential-type looped function is constructed using segmentation technology and linear interpolation. Based on this new Lyapunov functional, a less conservative mean square exponential stability criterion is obtained such that a bigger maximum decay rate can be easily calculated. Meanwhile, the quantitative relationship among some system parameters, maximum sampling period, and decay rate is established. Moreover, a time-dependent state feedback sample-data controller is designed. Significant improvements of the proposed exponential-type time-scheduled Lyapunov functional method over some existing ones are verified by numerical examples.

During the coal seam drilling process, the drill string is subject to compressive deformation, compounded by unpredictable variations in formation hardness and borehole wall friction, leading to challenges in maintaining a stable feeding speed. This paper presents a novel approach by introducing uncertain parameters to describe the effects of formation hardness and borehole wall friction. Drill string axial movement model is modeled as a polyhedral system based on a lumped parameter representation. To meet industrial performance requirements, we design a robust $H_{\infty}$ controller to achieve consistent feeding speed control. Our simulation results demonstrate the controller's effectiveness in ensuring system stability despite fluctuations in formation hardness and drill string friction.

Moving object detection in framework of compressive sampling

Compressive sensing is a revolutionary idea proposed recently to achieve much lower sampling rate for signals. In the image application with limited resources the camera data can be stored and processed in compressed form. An algorithm for moving object and region detection in video using a compressive sampling is developed. The algorithm estimates motion information of the moving object and regions in the video from the compressive measurements of the current image and background *** algorithm does not perform inverse compressive operation to obtain the actual pixels of the current image nor the estimated background. This leads to a computationally efficient method and a system compared with the existing motion estimation *** experimental results show that the sampling rate can reduce to 25% without sacrificing performance.

This summary addresses the input-to-state stability (ISS) and integral ISS (iISS) problems of impulsive switched nonlinear time-delay systems (ISNTDSs) under two asynchronous switching effects. In our investigated systems, impulsive instants and switching instants do not necessarily coincide with each other. Meanwhile, systems switching signals are not simultaneous with the corresponding controllers switching signals, which will induce instability seriously, and cause many difficulties and challenges. By utilizing methods of Lyapunov-Krasovskii and Lyapunov-Razumikhin, mode-dependent average dwell time approach, and mode-dependent average impulsive interval technique, some stability criteria are presented for ISNTDSs under two asynchronous switching effects. Our proposed results improve the related existing results on the same topic by removing some restrictive conditions and cover some existing results as special cases. Finally, some simulation examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and advantages of our results.

Anomaly detection is essential to ensure the safety of industrial processes. This paper presents an anomaly detection approach based on the probability density estimation and principle of justifiable granularity. First, time series data are transformed into a two-dimensional information granule by the principle of justifiable granularity. Then, the test statistic is constructed, and the probability density and cumulative distribution functions of the test statistic are calculated. Next, the confidence level determines the test threshold. Finally, the time series data of a key parameter in the sintering process is used as a case study. The experimental result demonstrates that the proposed approach can detect abnormal time series data effectively, providing an accurate and effective solution for detecting time series anomalies in industrial processes.

In the research and application of Agent-Based Models (ABM), parameter calibration is an important content. Based on the existing state transfer equations that link the micro-parameters and macro-states of the multi-agent system, this paper further proposes to introduce Reinforcement Learning when calibrating the parameters. The state transfer of the agent after learning is used to calibrate the micro-parameters of ABM, and the interaction between each agent and multiple other agents is expressed as the parameters of the agent. The application case study of population migration demonstrates that our method can achieve high accuracy and low computational complexity.

Networks are ubiquitous data structures in the real world. The accurate and efficient analysis of networks is critical to realizing many intelligent network-based services. However, most existing network analysis methods are developed for single networks and require a lot of labeled data, which is costly and time-consuming to acquire. Transfer learning has been widely accepted as an effective paradigm for tackling this problem by reusing the model trained on a supervised task. However, transfer learning on the non-euclidean network data has been investigated by no more than a few studies. To realize accurate node classification based on the knowledge learned from the labeled source network, this paper proposes to learn network-invariant and label-discriminative representations based on graph embedding and linear discriminant analysis. Specifically, we embed the source and target networks into adjacent vector spaces based on the graph attention network by minimizing the Sinkhorn distributional distances between their embeddings. To obtain label-discriminative features for learning better classification models, we then utilize a transferable linear discriminative analysis method to project the embeddings into label-discriminative subspaces. In the end, a support vector machine model trained on the labeled source network is utilized to classify the target nodes. Experiments on two pairs of networks illustrate that our method achieves the best performance and evaluates the effectiveness of the proposed modules.
