Recently, stability analysis of time-delay systems has received much attention. Rich results have been obtained on this topic using various approaches and techniques. Most of those results are based on Lyapunov stability theories. The purpose of this article is to give a broad overview of stabil- ity of linear time-delay systems with emphasis on the more recent progress. Methods and techniques for the choice of an appropriate Lyapunov functional and the estimation of the derivative of the Lyapunov functional are reported in this ar- ticle, and special attention is paid to reduce the conservatism of stability conditions using as few as possible decision vari- ables. Several future research directions on this topic are also discussed.

Coalition formation is an important coordination problem in multi-agent systems, and a proper description of collaborative abilities for agents is the basic and key precondition in handling this problem. In this paper, a model of task-oriented collaborative abilities is established, where five task-oriented abilities are extracted to form a collaborative ability vector. A task demand vector is also described. In addition, a method of coalition formation with stochastic mechanism is proposed to reduce excessive competitions. An artificial intelligent algorithm is proposed to compensate for the difference between the expected and actual task requirements, which could improve the cognitive capabilities of agents for human commands. Simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed model and the distributed artificial intelligent algorithm.

This article focuses on dynamic event-triggered mechanism(DETM)-based model predictive control(MPC) for T-S fuzzy systems.A hybrid dynamic variables-dependent DETM is carefully devised,which includes a multiplicative dynamic variable and an additive dynamic *** addressed DETM-based fuzzy MPC issue is described as a “min-max” optimization problem(OP).To facilitate the co-design of the MPC controller and the weighting matrix of the DETM,an auxiliary OP is proposed based on a new Lyapunov function and a new robust positive invariant(RPI) set that contain the membership functions and the hybrid dynamic variables.A dynamic event-triggered fuzzy MPC algorithm is developed accordingly,whose recursive feasibility is analysed by employing the RPI *** the designed controller,the involved fuzzy system is ensured to be asymptotically *** examples show that the new DETM and DETM-based MPC algorithm have the advantages of reducing resource consumption while yielding the anticipated performance.

It is now well known that the time-varying sliding mode control (TVSMC) is characterized by its global robustness against matched model uncertainties and disturbances. The accurate tracking problem of the mechanical system in the presence of the parametric uncertainty and external disturbance is addressed in the TVSMC framework. Firstly, an exponential TVSMC algorithm is designed and the main features are analyzed. Especially, the control parameter is obtained by solving an optimal problem. Subsequently, the global chattering problem in TVSMC is considered. To reduce the static error resulting from the continuous TVSMC algorithm, a disturbance observer based time-varying sliding mode control (DOTVSMC) algorithm is presented. The detailed design principle and the stability of the closed-loop system under the composite controller are provided. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Scale space generation is a fundamental problem in almost all feature extraction algorithms. Often, it is a critical prior step of most image/video analytic applications that are based on the invariance or co-invariance of local features, such as SIFT based recognition, matching, and tracking applications. However, it is still quite a challenging problem to enable real-time applications of the extraction of local features due to the fact that scale space generation has a rather large computational complexity. This paper proposes the optimal FPGA design for acceleration of scale space generation. First, in order to derive the mathematical model for scale space generation that fits best in with the FPGA, we have discarded the conventional template convolution based Gaussian filtering scheme and adopted a novel IIR filter based recursive Gaussian blurring algorithm. Then, an approach based on the Retiming technique, which could find the minimal operational period for any given IIR filter, is used to finalize the overall design. For 1024×768 video, the proposed design is able to generate scale spaces at almost 400 fps, which is fast enough to support most real-time applications like object recognition, object matching, and 3D reconstruction.

Autonomous tracking control is one of the fundamental challenges in the field of robotic autonomous navigation,especially for future intelligent *** this paper,an improved pure pursuit control method is proposed for the path tracking control problem of a four-wheel independent steering *** on the analysis of the four-wheel independent steering model,the kinematic model and the steering geometry model of the robot are *** the path tracking control is realized by considering the correlation between the look-ahead distance and the velocity,as well as the lateral error between the robot and the reference *** experimental results demonstrate that the improved pure pursuit control method has the advantages of small steady-state error,fast response and strong robustness,which can effectively improve the accuracy of path tracking.
