In order to realize the flexible automatic design of controllers, this paper proposes a library-based controller design method with bi-level optimization of structure and parameters. The controller with optimized structure is composed by components which are selected from a component library. A binary string is used to express a controller structure, where each bit represents the connection relationship between two links. The controller structure and parameters are optimized in a hierarchical manner by the binary Geometric Differential Evolution Algorithm in the outer layer and an advanced Differential Evolution algorithm variant named JADE in the inner layer, respectively. Simulation and experiment of a magnetic levitation ball control system have been done to verify the performance of the presented controller. Results demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of the proposed method.

In this modern era, technology has advanced to such an extent to make our daily life more proficient and convenient. This paper presents the design and implementation of vending machine (VM) for students, which operates on radio frequency identification technology (RFID). Hence, it turns the VM into smart shopping booth (SSB). The SSB gives the access only through RFID card and vend different products according to the desire of student. The SSB is equipped with RFID reader and student identity card that holds the RFID tag. When the student identity card is scanned for verification and then after selecting the required products, will be dispensed off if a student has available balance in his/her identity card and SMS will be sent to students about remaining balance in their cards by GSM technology. The programming for controller is done by using proton IDE language. The SSB is the customized idea of vending machine and it attempts to resolve various issues that appeared in coin/note based VM. The student identity card RFID based technology is a breakthrough towards a paperless and cashless environment. Moreover, it is very beneficial in saving the precious time of students due to fast paced life and also user friendly. RFID based SSB also improved the communication and sensing capabilities of VM. Hence, our suggested approach outperforms in all aspects.

Overhauser magnetometer is a weak magnetic measuring instrument based on the dynamic nuclear polarization of free radical species. It has the characteristics of high precision, high sensitivity, low power consumption and continuous measurement. It is widely used in geophysics, aeromagnetic surveying, satellite Magnetic measuring, military and various engineering fields. Aiming at the problem that the measurement accuracy of the magnetometer prototype is low and the measurement effect is poor when the angle between the probe axis and the geomagnetic field is 0°, several optimization methods are proposed and the magnetometer is optimized by adding the frequency measurement channel on the basis of the prototype. Based on the standard deviation of GSM-19 measurement data, comparing the experimental data that use the multi -channel frequency measurement algorithm, the standard deviation of prototype data decreases from 0.397 to 0.203 when the angle between probe axial and geomagnetic field is 45°, the standard deviation of the prototype data decreases from 0.631 to 0.371 when the angle between probe axial and geomagnetic field is 0°, which provides an important reference for the follow-up optimization of the magnetometer.

This paper presents an all-solid porous Ag/AgCl electric field sensor with ultralow-potential drift for detecting the seafloor electric field signals. The superiority of porous electrode compared with flat electrode on the polarization stability is expounded, and the technological process using solid state agglomeration in developing the all-solid porous Ag/AgCl electrode core are described. Moreover, a new sensor shell is proposed. Numerous parameters, e.g., polarization resistance, self-potential, drift, etc., of the proposed electrode are tested. The experimental results show that the self-potential is less than ±0.1 mV, the source resistance is less than 0.01H, and the drift potential is less than ±5μV/24h, which indicate the superior performance of the proposed Ag/AgCl electric field sensor for marine electric field exploration.

Cooperative lifting by two cranes is widely used in the current construction site. Since the influence of changeable load in the cooperative lifting process, it is essential to take the load distribution into consideration while planning the lifting path to ensure the safety of the whole lifting process. However, most researches did not consider the reasonable actual load distribution or just used a certain load in the lift process. This paper analyzes the relationship between crane operations and the pose of the lifted object. Then based on this relationship, this paper gives the method calculating the distribution of actual load over each crane that the planning approach is based. This paper also gives calculation methods and constraints for the skew angle of each lifting rope. The results of simulation show the effectiveness of this calculation method.

Burden distribution plays an important role in the optimization of energy-consuming index of a blast furnace(BF).However, due to the low transparency of this process, operators adjust the burden distribution according to their own experiences,which makes it difficult to keep optimal production indexes for a BF. In this paper, an intelligent selection strategy of burden distribution is devised according to the energy-consuming index, where carbon-monoxide utilization rate(CMUR) is taken as the energy-consuming index. First, state variables are chosen based on the calculated Pearson correlation coefficient among each state variable. Then, the chosen state variables are divided into five clusters by k-means clustering algorithm. Finally, the values of CMUR in each condition cluster with different burden distribution are counted. According to the statistics, the burden distribution with the highest CMUR is judged to be the optimal one. Simulation results based on industrial data show that the proposed strategy selects the optimal burden distribution and provides a reasonable guide for the operators.

Aiming at the problem that the process of gesture recognition based on color image is greatly affected by environmental factors such as lighting, a gesture intent understanding method based on the fusion of Red-Green-Blue(RGB) data and depth data is proposed. Firstly, the gesture feature extraction based on the Speeded Up Robust Feature(SURF) method after foreground segmentation are used to get gesture information. Then, we apply Backpropagation(BP) neural network to classify and recognize gestures. The final recognition results are obtained through data fusion from recognition results based on both RGB images and depth images. We evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed method through Cha Learn Gesture Database.

This paper investigates the problem of solving a unique solution to discrete-time Lyapunov equations (DTLE) using multi-agent networks. We propose a distributed algorithm where each agent only uses partial information of the matrices. The agents of the algorithm reach a consensus by exchanging information with their neighbors over an undirected connected graph. We provide convergence analysis and the convergence rate estimate for the proposed algorithm. Finally, convergence performance is verified by numerical simulations.
