Grating coupler, one of the essential devices in silicon-based optical integrated chip, is still suffering with low coupling efficiency and small operation bandwidth. In this paper, we design and experimentally demonstrate a silicon nitride (Si3N4) grating coupler with high coupling efficiency and large bandwidth. Instead of using bottom distributed Bragg reflector, metal mirror or other complex designs, a bottom silicon grating reflector based on a 220 nm industrially standard silicon-on-insulator wafer is employed to improve coupling efficiency and simplify the fabrication processes. The interlayer coupler enables the light transmission between Si3N4 and Si waveguides. By optimizing structure parameters and apodizing the Si3N4 grating coupler, a high coupling efficiency of -2.37 dB and large 1-dB bandwidth of 53 nm are obtained. © 2023 SPIE.

The rapid advancement of fundamental theories and computing capacity has brought artificial intelligence,internet of things, extended reality, and many other new intelligent technologies into our daily lives. Due to the lack of interpretability and reliability guarantees, it is extremely challenging to apply these technologies directly to real-world industrial systems. Here we present a new paradigm for establishing parallel factories in metaverses to accelerate the deployment of intelligent technologies in real-world industrial systems: QAII-1.0. Based on cyber-physical-social systems,QAII-1.0 incorporates complex social and human factors into the design and analysis of industrial operations and is capable of handling industrial operations involving complex social and human behaviors. In QAII-1.0, a field foundational model called Eu Artisan combined with scenarios engineering is developed to improve the intelligence of industrial systems while ensuring industrial interpretability and reliability. Finally, parallel oil fields in metaverses are established to demonstrate the operating procedure of QAII-1.0.

Research on workflow recognition for liver rupture repair surgery

Liver rupture repair surgery serves as one tool to treat liver rupture, especially beneficial for cases of mild liver rupture hemorrhage. Liver rupture can catalyze critical conditions such as hemorrhage and shock. Surgical workflow recognition in liver rupture repair surgery videos presents a significant task aimed at reducing surgical mistakes and enhancing the quality of surgeries conducted by surgeons. A liver rupture repair simulation surgical dataset is proposed in this paper which consists of 45 videos collaboratively completed by nine surgeons. Furthermore, an end-to-end SA-RLNet, a self attention-based recurrent convolutional neural network, is introduced in this paper. The self-attention mechanism is used to automatically identify the importance of input features in various instances and associate the relationships between input features. The accuracy of the surgical phase classification of the SA-RLNet approach is 90.6%. The present study demonstrates that the SA-RLNet approach shows strong generalization capabilities on the dataset. SA-RLNet has proved to be advantageous in capturing subtle variations between surgical phases. The application of surgical workflow recognition has promising feasibility in liver rupture repair surgery. ©2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press. This paper presents a high-precision control method based on the model-following control (MFC) and equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) approaches. The MFC approach ensures that the output of the plant tracks the output of a desired nominal model. The EID estimates and eliminates an external disturbance. The combination of these two methods effectively achieves high-precision tracking. The validity of this method is demonstrated by a vibration-suppression example through simulations. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a ring synthetic gene network model described by fractional differential equations,studies the conditions of Hopf bifurcation in the model,and discusses the limit cycle oscillation phenomenon due to the existence of bifurcation,which causes the system to become unstable,and then We propose a method to control the bifurcation behavior in the system,so that the system can be stable over a large *** addition,the dynamic behavior of the fractional-order model is simulated by triggering a genetic oscillator(a single inhibitory gene) composed of a transistor composed of linear and nonlinear electronic *** circuit simulation results well verify the theoretical analysis conclusion,and the circuit simulation model can well demonstrate the biological characteristics of gene regulatory networks.

Dynamic State Estimation for Power System with Communication Constraint Using Event-Triggered Cubature Kalman Filter

Accurate dynamic state estimation plays an important role in power systems. Although various filtering algorithms, such as unscented Kalman filter (UKF) and particle filter (PF), have been proposed based on phasor measurement units (PMUs), they occupy a huge communication bandwidth without specific concern, which puts heavy burden on the communication network especially when wireless communications are widely applied in smart grids. In order to relieve this communication burden, the event-triggered cubature Kalman filter (ETCKF) is proposed based on the stochastic event-triggered schedule in this paper, which guarantees that only the measurements containing innovational information are transmitted and has advantages over other event-triggered schedules, such as the deterministic event-triggered schedule, since it can maintain the Gaussian property of the conditional distribution of the system state. Based on the developed nonlinear event-triggered schedule, the cubature Kalman filter (CKF), using the third-degree spherical-radial cubature rule, further provides more accurate estimation than UKF and has lower computational complexity than PF. The proposed filter can effectively reduce the communication rate while ensuring the accuracy of filtering. Finally, the standard IEEE 39-bus system is utilized to verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed method. © 2020 Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology

A significant study focus on the field of bioinformatics has been on how to quickly and accurately accomplish the cell clustering task using computational approaches for single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. Technical issues with scRNA-seq data include missing values, high noise levels, and a large batch impact. While the single-cell data recovery method based on data filling can enhance data quality, it will subjectively alter the distribution of data. To address the above-mentioned issues, we propose a non-negative matrix factorization clustering algorithm (scMVNMF) based on multi-view data of scRNA-seq. Under the assumption of essentially unchanging original data distribution, it can not only identify the typical low-dimensional representation patterns of multi-view data but also produce final explicable clustering findings. The results of the experiments demonstrate that the suggested algorithm has some advantages over the filling approach in terms of clustering tasks and can maintain a certain level of stability when the quality of single-cell data varies. © 2022 IEEE.
