In order to achieve high sensitivity of pressure magnitude and direction measurement, the elasto-optical effect of photonic crystal fiber is studied by the full vector finite element method. First of all, the birefringence characteristics of the fundamental mode of the edge-pass high birefringence photonic crystal fiber under lateral pressure and static liquid pressure are studied. The results show that the effective refractive index of the two polarization fundamental modes changes obviously under the static liquid pressure, the phase mode birefringence changes linearly with the pressure. The second, the influence of fiber structure on birefringence is discussed, the results show that the size of birefringence can be influenced by changing the shape, position and size of the air holes in the fiber. The structure of photonic crystal fiber with high birefringence is obtained by optimizing the structure. The result show that, when free space wavelength is 1.55µm and pressure is 120MPa, the sensitivity of its phase modal birefringence up to 1.498×10-5 MPa-1 and the maximum measurable hydrostatic pressure value is 353MPa. The research is meaningful to realize the pressure sensor with multi-angle and high sensitivity. © 2022 SPIE

controlling multiple multi-joint fish-like robots has long captivated the attention of engineers and biologists,for which a fundamental but challenging topic is to robustly track the postures of the individuals in real *** requires detecting multiple robots,estimating multi-joint postures,and tracking identities,as well as processing fast in real *** the best of our knowledge,this challenge has not been tackled in the previous *** this paper,to precisely track the planar postures of multiple swimming multi-joint fish-like robots in real time,we propose a novel deep neural network-based method,named *** TAB part fuses the top-down and bottom-up approaches for vision-based pose estimation,while the IOL part with long short-term memory considers the motion constraints among joints for precise pose *** satisfying performance of our TAB-IOL is verified by testing on a group of freely swimming fish-like robots in various scenarios with strong disturbances and by a deed comparison of accuracy,speed,and robustness with most state-of-the-art ***,based on the precise pose estimation and tracking realized by our TAB-IOL,several formation control experiments are conducted for the group of fish-like *** results clearly demonstrate that our TAB-IOL lays a solid foundation for the coordination control of multiple fish-like robots in a real working *** believe our proposed method will facilitate the growth and development of related fields.

Affected by the global New Crown Pneumonia epidemic, energy prices in the global market continue to rise. The high quality production and energy saving of steel companies have become an important task. The blast furnace is the front-end core of the steel manufacturing process. The blast furnace gas utilization rate can effectively characterize the internal airflow distribution, blast furnace operation and energy consumption level of the blast furnace. The blast furnace Gas Utilization Rate (GUR) can effectively characterize the internal airflow distribution, blast furnace operation and energy consumption level. Most of the existing studies are based on data-driven models. The shallow neural network model is selected. But blast furnace iron making has complex uncertainty. Massive data samples under industrial information technology need to be processed. The robustness and generalization ability of the prediction model are not satisfactory. To address the above problems, this paper proposes a prediction model based on NGO-LSTM regression. The model parameter searchs can be intelligently. It achieves high-precision prediction results for massive data samples. Firstly, the selection of feature parameters is completed by maximal information coefficient. Secondly, the strong coupling of blast furnace ground needs to fully predict the relationship between the characteristic parameters. The Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network with certain memory capability is selected. And multiple parameters of this neural network model are optimized by the Northern Goshawk Optimization (NGO) algorithm. An NGO-LSTM regression prediction model is established. In this paper, experiments are carried out using actual production data. The experimental results show that the proposed method can accurately predict the blast furnace gas utilization rate. This can provide a reference for improving blast furnace product quality, reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

With the aim of 2-AMT electric vehicles, a comprehensive shift schedule that considers both power and economy is proposed. First, the objective function of the comprehensive shift schedule is constructed, which is the weighted sum of vehicle acceleration time and vehicle power consumption per unit distance. Second, Sparrow Search Algorithm is used to solve the objective function and obtain the comprehensive shift schedule. Finally, AVL Cruise simulation software is used to simulate vehicle dynamics and economy under an NEDC. The results show that the comprehensive shift schedule is similar to the optimal power shift schedule in terms of dynamic performance, and the economy is optimized by 3%. The feasibility of the comprehensive shift schedule is verified.

Sequential fusion estimation for multisensor systems with non-Gaussian noises

The sequential fusion estimation for multisensor systems disturbed by non-Gaussian but heavytailed noises is studied in this paper. Based on multivariate t-distribution and the approximate t-filter,the sequential fusion algorithm is presented. The performance of the proposed algorithm is analyzed and compared with the t-filter-based centralized batch fusion and the Gaussian Kalman filter-based optimal centralized fusion. Theoretical analysis and exhaustive experimental analysis show that the proposed algorithm is effective. As the generalization of the classical Gaussian Kalman filter-based optimal sequential fusion algorithm, the presented algorithm is shown to be superior to the Gaussian Kalman filter-based optimal centralized batch fusion and the optimal sequential fusion in estimation of dynamic systems with non-Gaussian noises.

During super low frequency (SLF) magnetic induction communication, the sensitive antenna carried by autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) is highly susceptible to vibration, resulting in a large amount of noise in communication signals, which seriously affects communication performance. The type of motion-induced noise typically exhibits randomness and nonlinearity. Based on the strong correlation between the motion-induced noise and the antenna's vibration signal, we propose a multi-channel normalized least mean square (MCNLMS) algorithm. The algorithm utilizes the six degrees of freedom vibration acceleration information from both ends of the magnetic antenna as the reference signal input for the canceller, providing more comprehensive information related to motion-induced noise than the single-channel adaptive noise cancellation algorithm. Experimental results indicate that the MCNLMS algorithm demonstrates effective suppression of the motion-induced noise, achieving an average reduction of approximately 7 dB within the 160–170 Hz communication band. Additionally, it exhibits improved stability and faster convergence.

Efficiently fulfilling coverage tasks in non-convex regions has long been a significant challenge for multi-agent systems (MASs). By leveraging conformal mapping, this paper introduces a novel sectorial coverage formulation to transform a non-convex annulus region into a topologically equivalent one. This approach enables the deployment of MASs in a non-star-shaped region while optimizing coverage performance and achieving load balance among sub-regions. It provides a unique perspective on the partitioned sub-regions to highlight the geodesic convex property of the non-star-shaped region. By utilizing the sectorial partition mechanism and the diffeomorphism property of conformal mapping, a decentralized control law is designed to drive MASs towards a desired configuration, which not only optimizes the global coverage cost but also ensures exponential convergence of equitable workload. Moreover, an iterative search algorithm is developed to identify the optimal approximation of multi-agent deployment in the non-star-shaped region. Theoretical analysis is conducted to confirm the asymptotic stability and global convergence with arbitrary small tolerance of the closed-loop system. Finally, numerical simulations demonstrate the practicality of the proposed coverage formulation with conformal mapping. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, the fixed-time stabilization (FTS) and preassigned-time stabilization (PTS) problems for memristive neural networks (MNNs) with discontinuous activation functions (DAF) is investigated by designing a unified controller. In addition, less conservative stabilization criteria are derived to ensure the FTS and PTS of MNNs. Besides, a more accurate estimate of settling time is obtained based on Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, a numerical simulation is illustrated to verify the validity of theoretical results. © 2021 IEEE.

In recent years, micromanipulator with dual end-effectors called microhand has been widely used in industrial and biological fields. Whether the tip positions of the two end-effectors of the microhand can be accurately aligned seriously affects the precise grasping of the microhand. However, few researchers have presented practical ways for precisely aligning the tip positions of a 6-DOF microhand’s two end- effectors. This paper proposes a novel, inexpensive, lightweight, robust, and easy-to-use microhand dual end-effectors clamping device that can precisely and quickly align the two end-effectors of a 6-DOF microhand. First, we describe the microhand dual end-effectors clamping device’s lightweight structural design. After that, we simplify the microhand dual end-effectors clamping device model and create a mathematical model to determine the relationship between the end-effectors’ tip position and the rotation angles of screw No.1, screw No.2, screw No.3 of the microhand dual end-effectors clamping device. Through experimentation, we are able to attain precise alignment of the two end-effectors tip positions of the 6-DOF microhand, so we confirm that our mathematical model is true. Finally, we use the impulse response of PZT in the microhand’s lower module to confirm the stability of the microhand dual end- effectors clamping device. We believe that the proposed the microhand dual end-effectors clamping device has great potential in industrial and biological applications as a universal tool for precise alignment of the tip positions of the two end-effectors of a 6-DOF microhand.
