Noise-induced synchronization is a pervasive phenomenon observed in a multitude of natural and engineering systems. Here, we devise a machine learning framework with the aim of devising noise controllers to achieve synchronization in diverse complex physical systems. We find the implicit energy regularization phenomenon of the formulated framework that engenders energy-saving artificial noise and we rigorously elucidate the underlying mechanism driving this phenomenon. We substantiate the practical feasibility and efficacy of this framework by testing it across various representative systems of physical and biological significance, each influenced by distinct constraints reflecting real-world scenarios.

In this paper, an event-triggered time-varying formation tracking control for a class of second-order nonlinear multiagent systems(MAS) operating within a constrained region is investigated. To mitigate the negative effects of external unknown disturbance, a novel disturbance observer with performance guarantees is proposed, enabling precise disturbance *** the artificial potential field(APF) method, a repulsive potential function is introduced to prevent inter-agent collisions as well as collisions with environmental obstacles. To reduce continuous communication and frequent system updates, a sliding mode technique is incorporated into the formation tracking controller, utilizing an event-triggered mechanism. The controller is also applicable to the formation control of MAS in switching-constrained regions. The achievement of the specified timevarying geometric formation is rigorously demonstrated through the Lyapunov framework. Numerical simulations are presented to validate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Leighton Chajnantor Telescope(LCT), i.e., the former Caltech Submillimeter Observatory telescope, will be refurbished at the new site in Chajnantor Plateau, Chile in 2023. The environment of LCT will change significantly after its relocation, and the telescope will be exposed to large wind disturbances directly because its enclosure will be completely open during observation. The wind disturbance is expected to be a challenge for LCT's pointing control since the existing control method cannot reject this disturbance very well. Therefore, it is very necessary to develop a new pointing control method with good capability of disturbance rejection. In this research, a disturbance observer—based composite position controller(DOB-CPC) is designed, in which an H∞feedback controller is employed to compress the disturbance, and a feedforward linear quadratic regulator is employed to compensate the disturbance precisely based on the estimated disturbance signal. Moreover, a controller switching policy is adopted, which applies the proportional controller to the transient process to achieve a quick response and applies the DOB-CPC to the steady state to achieve a small position error. Numerical experiments are conducted to verify the good performance of the proposed pointing controller(i.e., DOB-CPC) for rejecting the disturbance acting on LCT.
