A modified iterative algorithm for solving split equality problems

In this paper, we investigate the split equality problems in Hilbert spaces. We propose an iterative algorithm with self-adaptive step-size for solving split equality prob-lems. Virtual Machine Consolidation (VMC) is an effective means to improve the resource utilization and reduce energy consumption of data centers. However, the VMC optimization that only considers energy consumption may lead to SLA (Service-Level Agreements) violations and thus fail to guarantee the QoS (Quality of Service) provided. Therefore, it is necessary to consider both energy saving and SLA violations in the process of VMC. In this paper, we propose an energy and SLA-aware VMC algorithm that considers both energy saving and SLA violation optimization in data centers. The proposed algorithm uses the local regression method to predict the utilization of virtual machines, based on which it determines whether the host will be overloaded, so as to make the decision of virtual machine migrations. The proposed VMC algorithm is evaluated with CloudSim toolkit. Simulation results demonstrate that our algorithm has good energy saving performance and can effectively reduce SLA violation in cloud data center. Considering energy consumption and SLA violation, the ESV can be reduced by 7.57% on average and 16.36% at most compared with other algorithms.

The iterative methods for solving the variational inequality problem are studied and reviewed. We reconsider the convergence of the Tseng’s algorithm for solving the pseudo-monotone variational inequalities. Under some mild assump-tions, we show that the Tseng’s algorithm converges weakly to a solution of the pseudo-monotone variational inequality. © 2021, Politechnica University of Bucharest. This study examines ways to create personalized learning pathways that are influenced by large collaborative models and multi-modal knowledge graphs. By integrating multi-modal data to construct a comprehensive knowledge network, this study utilizes the generative and comprehension capabilities of large models to achieve personalized customization of learning resources. The focus of the research is on accurately depicting learner characteristics through multi-modal profiling techniques, ensuring the transparency and credibility of the content generated by large models. The personalized learning route suggestion model proposed in this paper includes two parts: recommendations for learning paths within courses and recommendations for learning paths within learning tasks, aiming to enhance learning efficiency and outcomes through the collaborative effects of multi-modal knowledge graphs and large models. Experimental results indicate that the learning path recommendation model driven by multi-modal knowledge graphs and large collaborative models performs excellently in improving learning outcomes and recommendation performance.

Recently, with the increasing complexity of agricultural systems and climate change, agricultural pest and disease surveillance and early detection have become critical tasks for guaranteeing food stability and promoting sustainable farming growth. Agricultural pest and disease surveillance is a key component of agricultural production, directly affecting crop yield and quality. As big data advances and image processing technologies rapidly, their application in crop pest and disease surveillance has become increasingly widespread. By integrating multi-source data, such as remote sensing data, meteorological data, ecological data, and pest and disease survey data, researchers can build more accurate and efficient pest and disease surveillance models. This paper reviews the research progress of big data and image processing technologies in crop pest and disease surveillance, analyzes the advantages and challenges of current technologies, and proposes future research directions to enhance the automation and intelligence of systems. Additionally, it discusses the integration of deep learning and other techniques to achieve efficient information mining and accurate retrieval of disaster-related data, aiming to provide scientific guidance and technical support for agricultural production.

In the application of RRT (Rapidly-exploring Random Trees) algorithm in obstacle avoidance path planning of redundant robot arms in high-dimensional space, the sampling area of random sampling points is large, the search time is long, the path twists and turns, and the redundant points are too many. In this paper, an efficient sampling RRT algorithm with adaptive step size and fast automatic convergence is proposed. Firstly, by adding the optimized gravity function, the step size of the extended tree is changed adaptively and the convergence is stronger. Secondly, the limited sampling of parent node area expansion is proposed to avoid useless point sampling and repeated point sampling, so that the utilization of sampling points is greatly improved. Finally, by changing the way of parent node reconnection and re-selection, the path tortuous degree is lower, the path planning cost and redundancy points are reduced, and MATLAB software is used to carry out the path planning simulation experiment. By comparing RRT, gravitational field RTT and RRT* algorithm, the improved RRT algorithm has significantly improved in distance, time and number of nodes. It has important engineering application value.

sEMG (surface electromyography) signal control of bionic prostheses has been widely studied over the past few years. In particular, sparse sEMG signals are rapidly developing in the field of gesture recognition for their convenience, noninvasiveness, and ease of access. However, compared with high-density EMG signals, sparse EMG signals lack rich feature information, which in turn affects gesture recognition accuracy. In order to reduce the loss of feature information of sparse EMG signals in the spatio-temporal dimension, this paper proposes a hybrid neural network Res-LSTM combining residual network and long short-term memory network. The ordinary convolutional blocks in the CNN network are replaced with residual blocks, and the final fully connected layer is removed and a constant mapping layer is added to adequate extraction of spatial feature information of the data. The Res layer’s output is utilized as the input for the long and short-term memory (LSTM) network, which further extracts the features of the data in the temporal dimension, and finally completes the categorization output through a fully connected layer. The average accuracy of 91.11% for gesture-motion classification was verified by training on a homebrew dataset;and tested on a public dataset, NinaPro DB1, with an average accuracy of 91.03%. The experimental findings indicate that the proposed Res-LSTM network framework contributes to solving the problem of lack of feature information of sparse sEMG signals and improves the pattern recognition accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Establishing dense correspondences between semantically similar images is a challenging task. Cost aggregation is a crucial step in finding correct dense correspondences, with the goal of optimizing the initial correlation map thereby removing the ambiguity of the correspondences. Current approaches use transformer architectures for cost aggregation, which lack local priors to adequately capture the local information contained in the correlation map. We propose to incorporate peripheral position coding into the transformer to explore the local information to obtain the matching set and call it the Peripheral Transformer Matcher (PTM). This coding technique partitions the overall receptive field of the self-attention mechanism into diverse peripheral regions, each with its own set of weights. By doing this, the proposed PTM gets a specific local prior by adding an inductive bias to the transformer models and making the initial correlation map less confusing. In addition, a local self-attention module is used to enhance the image features and obtain an enhanced initial correlation map. Comparisons of the experimental results with baselines on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PTM.

University computer rooms generally prefer batch purchasing strategy to simplify the management process such as system deployment and software update. However, with the growth of the life of the equipment, the failure of electronic products is inevitable, especially once the motherboard problem occurs, it is often difficult to find a replacement that exactly matches the original motherboard. Even if the replacement is found, its price is far beyond the market average level. After several years of operation, even the motherboard purchased in the same batch may also lead to the coexistence of a variety of models due to various reasons. In this situation, it becomes impractical to carry out unified network cloning. To solve this problem, we propose an innovative solution: deploying a local backup system combined with a server-controlled startup mode. The core of this solution is that through the local backup system, we can effectively deal with the challenge of different motherboard models, and ensure that each machine can have its own system snapshot. At the same time, the server-controlled boot mode further enhances the flexibility and efficiency of management, so that even in the hardware diversity of the environment, it can also achieve batch system recovery. The introduction of local backup system not only solves the problem of differentiated computer room management, but also significantly improves the convenience and stability of computer room operation and maintenance.

This paper explores the size-invariance of evaluation metrics in Salient Object Detection (SOD), especially when multiple targets of diverse sizes co-exist in the same image. We observe that current metrics are size-sensitive, where larger objects are focused, and smaller ones tend to be ignored. We argue that the evaluation should be size-invariant because bias based on size is unjustified without additional semantic information. In pursuit of this, we propose a generic approach that evaluates each salient object separately and then combines the results, effectively alleviating the imbalance. We further develop an optimization framework tailored to this goal, achieving considerable improvements in detecting objects of different sizes. Theoretically, we provide evidence supporting the validity of our new metrics and present the generalization analysis of SOD. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.
