The complementary benefits from visible and thermal infrared data are widely utilized in various computer vision task, such as visual tracking, semantic segmentation and object detection, but rarely explored in Multiple Object Tracking (MOT). In this work, we contribute a large-scale Visible-Thermal video benchmark for MOT, called VT-MOT. VT-MOT has the following main advantages. 1) The data is large scale and high diversity. VT-MOT includes 582 video sequence pairs, 401k frame pairs from surveillance, drone, and handheld platforms. 2) The cross-modal alignment is highly accurate. We invite several professionals to perform both spatial and temporal alignment frame by frame. 3) The annotation is dense and high-quality. VT-MOT has 3.99 million annotation boxes annotated and double-checked by professionals, including heavy occlusion and object re-acquisition (object disappear and reappear) challenges. To provide a strong baseline, we design a simple yet effective tracking framework, which effectively fuses temporal information and complementary information of two modalities in a progressive manner, for robust visible-thermal MOT. A comprehensive experiment are conducted on VT-MOT and the results prove the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed method compared with state-of-the-art methods. Pedestrian trajectory prediction plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of various applications, including autonomous vehicles and traffic management systems. This paper proposes a novel method for pedestrian trajectory prediction, called multi-stage goal-driven network (MGNet). Diverging from prior approaches relying on stepwise recursive prediction and the singular forecasting of a long-term goal, MGNet directs trajectory generation by forecasting intermediate stage goals, thereby reducing prediction errors. The network comprises three main components: a conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE), an attention module, and a multi-stage goal evaluator. Trajectories are encoded using conditional variational autoencoders to acquire knowledge about the approximate distribution of pedestrians’ future trajectories, and combined with an attention mechanism to capture the temporal dependency between trajectory sequences. The pivotal module is the multi-stage goal evaluator, which utilizes the encoded feature vectors to predict intermediate goals, effectively minimizing cumulative errors in the recursive inference process. The effectiveness of MGNet is demonstrated through comprehensive experiments on the JAAD and PIE datasets. Comparative evaluations against state-of-the-art algorithms reveal significant performance improvements achieved by our proposed method.

In addressing issues like an excessive number of network parameters and the loss of fine texture details in image super-resolution reconstruction approaches based on diffusion models, this passage introduces a novel image super-resolution model (FELSDiff). This model relies on the fusion of diffusion models, feature extraction, and latent space. FELSDiff utilizes a Pre-trained CNN for initial super-resolution to extract the primary low-band features and part high-band features of the image. The preliminary super-resolved image is then concatenated as a condition to this model. We introduce a cross-attention mechanism guided by the high-band features of the preliminary super-resolved image to enhance the network's feature extraction capability and obtain more effective features. In the U-Net structure, we incorporate a latent space strategy, enabling the model's training and inference processes to be conducted in the latent space, thereby reducing the number of network parameters. Experimental results on multiple standard datasets indicate that this method outperforms other advanced methods overall.

Compared with traditional natural images, remote sensing images (RSIs) typically have high resolution. The objects in the images are densely distributed, with heterogeneous orientation and large scale variation, even among objects of the same class. In recent years, object detection algorithms have made great strides in general images, but they are still difficult to meet the challenges that exist in RSIs. Therefore, we propose a foreground feature embedding network (FFE-Net) for object detection in RSIs. To better grasp the object features in RSIs, we design a foreground feature embedding module (FFEM) to learn the foreground features of the object. This is achieved by introducing an additional semantic segmentation branch and embedding the features in the classification and regression branches. Simultaneously, we propose a modified Gaussian function with focal loss (MGFFL) as a way to eliminate the extra background noise from soft labels, making the learned foreground features more robust. Our experimental results on two publicly available remote sensing image datasets, DOTA-v1.0 and HRSC2016, validate the effectiveness of FFE-Net. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Spatial public goods games on any population structure

Understanding the emergence of cooperation in spatially structured populations has advanced significantly in the context of pairwise games, but the fundamental theory of group-based public goods games (PGGs) remains less explored. Here, we provide theoretical conditions under which cooperation thrive in spatial PGGs on any population structure, which are accurate under weak selection. We find that PGGs can support cooperation across all kinds of model details and on almost all network structures in contrast to pairwise games. For example, a class of networks that would otherwise fail to produce cooperation, such as star graphs, are particularly conducive to cooperation in spatial PGGs. This fundamental advantage of spatial PGGs derives from reciprocity through second-order interactions, allowing local structures such as the clustering coefficient to play positive roles. We also verify the robustness of spatial PGGs on empirical networks where pairwise games cannot support cooperation, which implies that PGGs could be a universal interaction mode in real-world systems. © 2024, CC BY.

In this paper, we propose a logistics International Inland Port resource allocation method based on intelligent edge scheduling, and we do a reasonable pre-allocation of logistics resources by building an edge network in the urban system. By using multiple integrated learning models and regional prevalence classification algorithms, the distribution demand of each sub-distribution point is predicted. The proposed method is able to cope with uncertainties such as high distribution volume, variable distribution situations or long transportation distances. We use the HuaiHua International Inland Port as the simulation object, and the simulation results show that the proposed method has the highest efficiency in logistics distribution and is still highly adaptive in emergency situations.

Accurately predicting the future trend of traffic flow is of great significance to the planning of urban traffic. The great challenge of predicting traffic flow stems from the complexity and uncertainty of traffic flow. To address the complexity of traffic flow, this paper proposes a MAF-GCN $\text{Seq}2$ Seq model. The model uses a moving average filter to filter the time series data, extracts the spatial features between each node through a graph convolutional neural network, and forms a time series matrix for input into the encoder (GRU), and introduces a self-attention mechanism to mine the spatial features. time-domain features for multi-step traffic speed prediction. In order to verify the advanced nature of the model, this paper uses the traffic flow data set in Shenzhen to predict the traffic flow. Through the comparison experiments, it can be seen that the prediction accuracy of the MAF-GCN $\text{Seq}2$ Seq model reaches 90%, which has obvious advantages compared with other models.

There are some defects on the surface of steel that are difficult to detect, so we propose an improved algorithm based on YOLOv8 for detecting defects that are difficult to be detected. This improvement includes the introduction of an SPD module to minimize the problem of information loss due to downsampling; the addition of a small object detection head combined with EMA attention to further enhance the detection capabilities for small targets; the use of BiFPN to replace the original PANet, applying different weights to different features to strengthen feature fusion. Experiments were conducted on the NEU-DET dataset, and the algorithm improved mAP to 80.2%, an improvement of 3.9% over the baseline model.

The electroencephalogram (EEG) serves as a significant tool in the realms of clinical medicine, cerebral investigation, and neurological disorders research. However, the EEG records we obtain are often easily contaminated by various artifacts, which can blur or distort the underlying EEG signals and make data interpretation difficult. Generally speaking, removing EEG artifacts is considered an essential step in brain signal analysis. Therefore, removing artifacts is crucial for obtaining accurate and reliable EEG signals for subsequent analysis. Recently, deep learning techniques have found widespread application across various domains for denoising tasks, including image denoising and EEG denoising. Many advanced algorithms have been developed in image denoising, which has achieved good results in enhancing low-quality images. Moreover, it has shown superior performance in EEG denoising. In contrast, few people have devoted themselves to studying EEG denoising, and existing convolutional neural network EEG denoising methods still have problems of overfitting and poor denoising effect in Electromyograph(EMG) and ElectroOculoGram(EOG) artifact removal. Therefore, this paper proposes a method called DWINet (De-artifacting with Image-based Network for EEG Signals) based on an image dehazing network DRHNet for removing artifacts from EEG signals. Specifically, our approach DWINet, addresses the de-artifacting issue in EEG signals by converting it as an image dehazing problem and utilizes the image dehazing capability of DRHNet to enhance the denoising performance of EEG signals. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the compared algorithms in removing the ocular artifact in EEG signals and exhibits higher accuracy and robustness. © 2024, J. When matching similarity among pedestrians in images, pedestrian re-identification algorithms are often disturbed by occlusions. A typical tactic is to improve the robustness of occlusion features in the model. However, this approach neglects the noise introduced by other pedestrians in the image, leading to limited learning of relevant information between images. To address these issues, this paper introduces a pedestrian re-identification model that leverages perception-enhanced and attention mechanisms. By enhancing the perception of non-pedestrian noise and erasing non-pedestrian features, we then employ a cross-attention mechanism to subtly embed global and local features for finer feature recognition. Finally, through context attention, we learn the interaction between pedestrian images to improve re-identification accuracy. Results from studies performed on the Market-1501, CUHK03-D, and Duke-ReID datasets indicate that the suggested model surpasses leading contemporary models regarding Rank-1 scores and mean Average Precision (mAP), while maintaining good robustness.
