The joint angle control of snake robot is an important component for the path tracking control. However, existing controllers can not realize the accurate control of the joint angle of snake robots since they rely on model information and can not adapt to the uncertain environment. Here, aiming at the above problems, a fuzzy extended state observer (FESO)-based joint angle controller for snake robots is designed. The total system disturbance including model uncertainty and external disturbance is estimated by FESO and then rejected by adding a corresponding part to the control law. Moreover, the peaking phenomenon caused by initial estimation errors can be suppressed in the proposed FESO. Finally, the effectiveness of the designed joint angle controller is verified by simulations.

This paper proposes an adaptive back-stepping tracking control with prescribed performance function for vehicle suspension systems with uncertain parameters. The prescribed performance function can lead the tracking error from a large set to an arbitrarily small residual set. Firstly, the constrained tracking error system incorporating the prescribed performance functions is transformed into unconstrained form. Then an adaptive updating scheme based on the projection algorithm is designed to estimate the uncertain parameter. Following that an adaptive nonlinear controller is designed using the back-stepping technique, and the stability of whole controlled systems is proved by the Lyapunov theory. Meanwhile, the state convergence of the internal dynamical system is also guaranteed. Finally, simulation results are provided to verify the proposed approach.

An extensive amount of research applications on traffic flow prediction models taking into account spatio-temporal modeling have been undertaken in recent years. Relative to traditional spatio-temporal modeling approaches, good application results have been achieved in predicting traffic flow. However, in real life, traffic flow proves to be time- and space-dependent, which poses difficulties for accurate modeling of traffic flow prediction. To address these problems, we propose the ST-GNN-GRU model, which mainly contains S-GNN and T-GRU modules. The model uses a combination of spatio-temporal modeling and deep learning, which can not only cope with the spatio-temporal modeling problem, but also improve the traffic flow prediction accuracy. The experiments are conducted using the METR-LA dataset, and the outcomes show that the proposed method performs more effectively than other baseline approaches.

This paper takes the information technology education research literature collected by CNKI and the Web of Science database as the object and uses the bibliometric method to analyze the literature characteristics of information technology education at home and abroad. Specifically, the paper mainly carries out statistical analysis from the time distribution of literature, journal distribution, and hot keywords, and visually describes the literature features of the information technology education discipline, providing references for the research of information technology education discipline at home and abroad.

Redundancy reduction penalty term of loss function in deep neural network

In this paper, we propose a novel regularization algorithm that is introduced as a penalty term to the loss function. Differing from conventional L1 and L2 regularization methods, our approach does not aim to diminish the weights of individual neurons or enforce sparsity by driving certain neurons to zero. Instead, it functions by increasing the differences between neurons and enhancing the diversity of neurons within each layer. Our method incorporates ensemble learning techniques by treating the layer weight matrix as a collective learning model, where each neuron serving as a weak learner within the layer. The proposed algorithm improves the performance of DCNN by simultaneously considering the distance between multiple filters in the same layer. This algorithm reduces the redundancy of the parameter layer filters in DCNN and enhances its robustness. The penalty term proposed by our algorithm dynamically adjusts its value in a cyclical manner, compelling the neural network to navigate away from its current gradient state. In the parameter space, different weights correspond to different locations. The proposed algorithm quantifies the distance between neurons and iteratively increases the distance between neurons during thereby encouraging greater diversity within the network. Experimental evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm in enhancing neural network performance without requiring adjustments to other hyper-parameters.

An electroencephalogram(EEG)-based brain–computer interface(BCI) speller allows a user to input text to a computer by thought. It is particularly useful to severely disabled individuals, e.g. amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients, who have no other effective means of communication with another person or a *** studies so far focused on making EEG-based BCI spellers faster and more reliable; however, few have considered their security. This study, for the first time, shows that P300 and steady-state visual evoked potential BCI spellers are very vulnerable, i.e. they can be severely attacked by adversarial perturbations,which are too tiny to be noticed when added to EEG signals, but can mislead the spellers to spell anything the attacker wants. The consequence could range from merely user frustration to severe misdiagnosis in clinical applications. We hope our research can attract more attention to the security of EEG-based BCI spellers, and more broadly, EEG-based BCIs, which has received little attention before.

Hyperspectral Image Fusion via Logarithmic Low-rank Tensor Ring Decomposition

Integrating a low-spatial-resolution hyperspectral image (LR-HSI) with a high-spatial-resolution multispectral image (HR-MSI) is recognized as a valid method for acquiring HR-HSI. Among the current fusion approaches, the tensor ring (TR) decomposition-based method has received growing attention owing to its superior performance on preserving the spatial-spectral correlation. Furthermore, the low-rank property in some TR factors has been exploited via the matrix nuclear norm regularization along mode-2. On the other hand, the tensor nuclear norm (TNN)-based approaches have recently demonstrated to be more efficient on keeping high-dimensional low-rank structures in tensor recovery. Here, we study the low-rankness of TR factors from the TNN perspective and consider the mode-2 logarithmic TNN (LTNN) on each TR factor. A novel fusion model is proposed by incorporating this LTNN regularization and the weighted total variation which is to promote the continuity of HR-HSI in the spatial-spectral domain. Meanwhile, we have devised a highly efficient proximal alternating minimization algorithm to solve the proposed model. The experimental results indicate that our method improves the visual quality and exceeds the existing state-of-the-art fusion approaches with respect to various quantitative metrics. © 2023, CC BY.

DNA-based data storage has been attracting significant attention due to its extremely high data storage density, low power consumption, and long duration compared to conventional data storage media. Despite the recent advancements in DNA data storage technology, significant challenges remain. In particular, various types of errors can occur during the processes of DNA synthesis, storage, and sequencing, including substitution errors, insertion errors, and deletion errors. Furthermore, the entire oligo may be lost. In this work, we report a DNA-based data storage architecture that incorporates efficient channel coding schemes, including different types of error-correcting codes (ECCs) and constrained codes, for both the inner coding and outer coding for the DNA data storage channel. We also carried out large scale experiments to validate our proposed DNA-based data storage architecture. Specifically, 1.61 and 1.69 MB data were encoded into 30,000 oligos each, with information densities of 1.731 and 1.815, respectively. It has been found that the stored information can be fully recovered without any error at average coverages of 4.5 and 6.0, respectively. This experiment achieved the highest net information density and lowest coverage among existing DNA-based data storage experiments (with standard DNA), with data recovery rates and coverage approaching theoretical optima. This paper explores the size-invariance of evaluation metrics in Salient Object Detection (SOD), especially when multiple targets of diverse sizes co-exist in the same image. We observe that current metrics are size-sensitive, where larger objects are focused, and smaller ones tend to be ignored. We argue that the evaluation should be size-invariant because bias based on size is unjustified without additional semantic information. In pursuit of this, we propose a generic approach that evaluates each salient object separately and then combines the results, effectively alleviating the imbalance. We further develop an optimization framework tailored to this goal, achieving considerable improvements in detecting objects of different sizes. Theoretically, we provide evidence supporting the validity of our new metrics and present the generalization analysis of SOD. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.
